I think many Carolina fans are overreacting with negativity.  They knew this was a development year.  They also knew that this team had a lot of needs that were't going to be filled this year.  Obviously Carolina MUST make solid picks in next year's draft (sucks not having a #1) and, I presume, there is plenty of salary cap space to sign some quality free agents.  Carolina will be better next year.  In two years Carolina may very well be able to compete for a division title and a playoff berth.  In the meantime, hang in there!

Don't you notice a lot of these posters have been silent all week long last week? Literally not a peep from most of them after a solid game from Bryce and a win over the fan boy CJ Stroud. Stroud goes off this week and Bryce has a terrible game and here they are out in full force meltdown mode. Most of these fans don't deserve to cheer for a winner and should remain miserable until they finally call it quits on their "fandom"

I checked in last week and gave my take.  I credited him foe the couple of nice throws he made and said it was his best showing yet, but that I was still unimpressed and still saw inherent flaws and weaknesses in his game that limit the offense so it didn't feel like a satisfying "coming of age" moment like many were trying to paint it.

He just isn't very good, man.  Honestly.

I'm willing to give Bryce a pass for this season. It's okay if you and others aren't but the reality is he is an undersized rookie QB on a very, very bad team. He has shown he can move the ball when he has time and guys are getting open. The colts are rushing 4 sometimes 5 and getting home almost every time. With that they are dropping 7 into coverage and taking away the middle of the field. There are ZERO free runners in this offense and not many windows to throw into. That is the reality of it if you want to blame all of that on Bryce then go ahead but this team does him zero favors outside of a few nice catches by AT.

The Bryce Brigade got hyped off that average performance last week.  He showed flashes but the weaknesses were still far too glaring.  And here we are...  dude had -6 net passing yards going into the final drive of the half, and now the super processor just threw a pick 6 on a super late throw to the sideline, which you know not to do from the earliest stages of playing football.

Rookie or not, it's time to admit drafting him #1 overall was a mistake.  Yall get excited about him doing super average poo but don't want to acknowledge all of the absolutely horrible poo he does on the regular that's far more prevalent than him completing an "incredible" 10 yard throw.

Cool post where was it last week

Imagine blaming the QB for not throwing the ball away when the entire OL gets beat like a drum

I don't think these casuals know that if you throw the ball away when you're inside the pocket its a flag. He doesn't have time to get out of the pocket and throw it away when you have a guy running full speed at you every play

  5. Regardless how he is doing it 400 yards + 4 (probably 5) passing TDs is just insane for a rookie QB. Gotta give Stroud props he is far and away the better rookie QB right now playing in a better offense. That doesn't mean he will remain better than Bryce through their respective careers but through the first 7-8 games of their rookie seasons you really can't argue with what Stroud has done so far vs Bryce. I don't believe he'd be doing the same with Reich and the boys but he would undoubtedly still had been a good player for us. Hats off to Stroud. Hopefully Bryce can have himself a good game today as well.

Im ok with this, people obsess trading known assets for imaginary players, at some point you need to develop and pay your players and stop acting like a farm system for the 49ers.

What if the "known asset" you're referring to plays like an imaginary player over 50% of the time anyways? I'd take a ham sandwich for Burns at this point if it meant not screwing this franchise with his "show up when I feel like it" play for the next 5+ years. Fitterer needs to be fired. That's all there is to it.

We don’t need to hoard cap space.  We need to essentially rebuild the roster and add a TON of talent.

so again, if Burns would keep pace with the Reddick, Chubb tier then you play him.  You don’t  overpay him Mack, Bosa money because Burns flat out isn’t good enough for that and we have too many players we need to add.

Burns isn’t our best player and has never been our best player in any year.   Burns isn’t worth 2 first. Every once in a while a team is just desperate and dumb….and we were too dumb to take advantage of the moment.  Reason 848932 that Fitt should be fired

You're damn right he isn't our best player and whoever believes that is a fool. We even switched schemes and put him at OLB where he was supposed to be "even better" and its literally the same poo year after year with Burns. He's good enough to make his stats look pretty but when it comes down to actually impacting the game he's useless. $30 million a year for that? Hell no. Out of all the mistakes Fitterer has made so far this has been and will be undoubtedly the worst one once he finally gets that massive deal. And unfortunately this will have the most impact on our future as well. That's a lot of money to have tied up in a player that only shows up half of the time, if that.

    What?  That's pure comedy gold!!

Burns has better production than those recently signed.

    Natural born leader.

I get he's not the.complete edge rusher we all want, but the stupidity that he doesn't deserve to get paid is fuging ridiculous.

I'd wager he has more garbage time sacks vs sacks where we are still in the game that actually matter. He is not a difference maker. He is not a cornerstone piece. He is hardly better than a rotational pass rusher piece ala Mario Addison. When has Burns completely wrecked an offensive series for the opposing team? He doesn't collapse pockets consistently. All of our previous DEs had stellar games in which they took over drives. Charles Johnson, Hardy, Peppers, Reddick, and I'd even throw Addison in as well. I don't even notice Burns on the field half the time. He is not an imposing precense whatsoever and I doubt there is a single DC in the league that loses sleep when having to game plan for him. He just simply is not an elite player. He's a solid to good pass rusher and that is literally it and that's not good enough to command $30 million a year on this team when we need to surround our young QB with playmakers a running game and an oline that can pass block. He is a luxury we can't afford

Yeah and it's painfully obvious that it isn't all personnel on that OL. Each player individually played better for the previous staff. They literally just look confused and not on the same page too much in the game. You see it with the TE's, the RB's....our pass protection is just not good.

Ikey is an easy target but almost everyone has been having mental lapses and errors.

The WR's just seems like more taking these square pegs and hammering them into round holes. If you know you are struggling with separation, why are you running some of these plays? Why are we not trying everything possible to scheme people open instead of relying on our dudes to just line up ans beat the guy in front of them? Not saying we don't do that but we aren't exhausting all efforts to make this as easy as possible for what we have.

To me that is the biggest theme on offense so far this season. Mismatched parts and not trying to make it as simple as possible for the what we do have. Stop trying to pretend these are perfect parts.

To be fair last year we weren't a top pass blocking unit, we were a top run blocking unit. The run game scheme change doesn't play to the strengths that we had with these guys last year and they are getting exposed in both the passing and running game because of it. Now we also have had revolving doors at both OG spots and only recently have we had serviceable play at those spots. Combine that with Icky and his mental lapses that continue to put him in bad situations during pass plays and yea it's not hard to see why they've underwhelmed so far. For as much as BC is overlooked not every piece on the line has to be pro bowl material, just serviceable and BC gives us that when he's healthy. Same with AC. These other guys....not so much but Throckmotton has been improving these last few games...I think.

I mean can't hurt to let him run a couple deep routes to spread things out. Chark barely gets any separation for being our "speed guy"

The guy covering him fell down which is why he was so wide open lol. Usually when a guy has touched the ball a handful of times like he has for us you can tell if they have "it" so far he doesn't look like he does. Blackshear on the other hand needs to have more touches/passes go his way he definitely looks like he could develop into a very solid chance of pace back to compliment Chuba.

Almost every great OT has a rough second season. Just part of the deal.

    He's going to get better.

Yea I'm kind of on the fence with this. He's had some REALLY bad reps this season and even in the preseason he just did not look good in pass pro. He has some solid reps sometimes though and is still a pretty good run blocker. He's very young still like a lot of guys on our team. This is a season of learning and growing as a young football team. I just hope it doesn't land Young on IR while they continue to fight through it

  12. We need multiple receivers not just 1 really good one. We need some quick twitch/shiftyness to our offense. Bryce doesn't throw many 50/50 balls or deep bombs for that matter. Not saying he can't or won't develop that part of his game eventually but he's really good at getting the ball to WRs to make plays in space. If we some how had been able to retain DJ Moore along with Thielen we'd honestly be set. DJs skill set is perfect for the type of QB Bryce is.

  13. I'd rather use that money on the offensive side of the ball. Even with Burns we aren't a top defense. It's time to have a top offense and not let history repeat itself by thinking you can spend money and have both. You can't. Use that money to protect young and surround him with playmakers while getting high energy guys who are hungry to fill out the defense. Burns is a solid player but he disappears far too often to command that sizeable % of our cap.

Remember when I said that if we turn it around all the "let's just be positive, all these people want to do is poo post" would become the new poo posters?

Well, all it took was one ugly win. 😂

I hold my tounge a lot considering the amount of trash I read from week to week on this board (no surprise we were 0-6, now 1-6). I'm just enjoying my 24 hour grace period gotta rub the Stroud huggers face in it during that time, it's only right because had we lost don't act like they wouldn't be doing the same to Bryce
