  1. Meh, I haven't accepted it yet...but am preparing for it. Not only do I think Stroud will be the best of this class, but he'll have one heck of a chip on his shoulder.
  2. That is very true. I also forgot to mention, Corral is also downright deceitful with his play-action. Often fooling the camera.
  3. Corral is accurate, mobile, and a fiery competitor. I think he'll make a great QB for some team willing (or forced due to injury) to play him. Probably won't be us though.
  4. PS: Who still had 40 TDs last year? Young had 32, 36 if you count TD runs. Still great but...
  5. Why does that make a difference? He could have just said their offense is the best he ever faced. But made it a point to mention Corral by name. You don't think he's also thinking about the number of times Matt eluded Anderson's pass rush? Watch the tape.
  6. To say Bryce's bad games were better than CJ's bad games is kind of eye-rolling. I know CJ didn't throw 2 interceptions, let alone a pick-six in the Peach Bowl against Georgia. In post season play, Bryce Young has thrown 9 TDs and 3 interceptions. That's pretty good, I guess, for a guy who plays for Alabama. In post season play, CJ Stroud has thrown 10 TDs to 1 interception. So, who had the better bad game seems less important than WHEN they have a bad game.
  7. Foer me, it's Stroud, Young...then everyone else.
  8. Will Anderson did say Matt Corral was the best QB he played against...but, technically, Anderson never played against Young (except practice of course). I like MC a lot. I hope he gets a chance somewhere.
  9. Yeah...and then there's the National Championship Game. But we have excuses for his performance there too, apparently. I always treat excuses with a bit of skepticism. People made excuses about why Jedavian Clowney wasn't as productive his final college year but should still be picked over Khalil Mack. The good news for me is I just now watched Kurt Warner's review of Bryce Young and feel a little more encouraged.
  10. Anyone wanna ask themselves WHY a QB who plays for Nick Saban...WHY a QB who plays for a team that's perennially favored to win the National Championship...WHY a QB who is surrounded by 4 and 5 star players...WHY a QB who should have a top OL, receivers, running game and defense...WHY a QB who is so celebrated...WHY did he have to run out of the pocket and extend so many plays? Mac Jones didn't have to do that to win a National Championship. It's nice that Young can do these things, I worry that he's just not comfortable staying in the pocket.
  11. Yeah nothings a "done deal" yet. It's weird...it's like these guys have some agenda with trying to predict who the Panthers will pick. Maybe even trying to influence the decision. Are they betting on the outcome or something. Look, it's clear to me Stroud is the right choice. But if it's true that the Panthers are selecting Young, I hope and pray I'm wrong about Young and he's as special as everyone seems to think.
  12. I hear ya'...On the other hand, CJ had a depleted and ineffective running game heading into the Peach Bowl. Lost his best TE Stover in the first half. Then lost Marvin Harrison Jr in the second half. Yet,still...
  13. I'm concerned about size because how on earth can a 5'10 QB see behind a big OL? Obviously, he has to wait for creases to open up or run out of the pocket (which is Young's MO) to see the whole field. And to constantly be on the move invites all kinds of injuries...including non-contact injuries. But my biggest concern about Bryce Young is his performance in the National Championship. I know he's played well in some big games, but when the time came to play in the BIGGEST college game of all...he didn't live up to expectations. I know that sounds too critical, but given the hype and reputation surrounding Young and Alabama, it's a bit of a head-scratcher.
  14. I actually like the idea of trying out Roy at NT. That's what he was in college and I think his natural Position. He's so big and wide (built like a square), I think he might thrive. If it works out, that give balance on either side with Tuttle and Brown.
  15. I had my own concerns about needing another edge rusher...until we switched to a 3-4 defense. Burns will obviously be the primary pass rusher. The other OLB will be more versatile. Blitz the QB, stop the run and drop back in coverage. I say keep your eye on Brandon Smith. He might be perfect for that role!
