The only thing about this I don't like are all the one year deals.  Seems they always play well and we end up losing them.

Overall, I agree B should be the grade.  Depending on the draft it could go to an A.

Yeah; all of the one-year deals show me that they're attempting to sneak into the playoffs, and be a contender the next year.

You don't build team chemistry with all 1 year deals.

There's a part of me that's always going to wonder how things would have played out if Tepper had done the right thing and fired Marty first.

(I know we're already talking in another thread haha)

But Rivera with Fitterer would've been pretty damn great now that you mention it.

Fitterer doesn't have the power to overrule him.

Tepper doesn't appear to be inclined.

I know Fitt has literally said that out of his own mouth. (and maybe it's more stupid of ME at this point to believe they'll get it right)

I just don't see any way Tepper, or really any human would say 'hey, you're one of the most hated coaches in franchise history, I'm being ripped to shreds while my billion dollar investment is being ridiculed publicly.....but I'm trusting you again over this fellow with a proven track record'

Oh I’m more worried because Morgan wants to leave already and just sign here last year. Tepper should have fixed this, and as fans we have a long, long season coming up!

lol I'm not too surprised. Everyone would go for the higher position (especially with an organization that has some semblance of competency vs Carolina)

BUT, upon first seeing the headline I thought 'Didn't he just get here?!?'

  5. I'm sure he'll speak at some point; but I have 2 things...

He may be simply very motivated to just win, and not talk anymore.  His franchise is literally being laughed at, and all because of a high-profile splash hiring that he made. Might be time in his head to just roll up his sleeves in get dirty.

It is hilarious given just how visible he was when he first bought the team; the guy was kissing babies, going to tailgates and you'd damn near think he needed to have a podcast.

The final bonus thing I'll add...(I hate being caring) we never know if he's dealing with things outside of football.  Yes, he could easily release a statement at least..or hell even pay someone to give him an amazing script...but that might not be a priority for him right now.

You mean like the three years with the future hall of fame WR Steve Smith?  😄

Smith needed to get out of Carolina to continue that success. I think he's even alluded to being more driven than he'd ever been.  He began to have injuries and was getting older.  That's no disrespect to Smith who I absolutely love.

But yes, I get your point!
He and Olsen were the best that he had.

The Bucs and now Rams are proving that whole “only built through the draft , superstar teams don’t win” narrative wrong.

All those years we wasted with a prime Cam, we were the cheapest team free agency. We never went after big names, we never we traded for anybody outside of Olsen. Bargain bin Gettleman set this franchise back lord knows how long.

Damn; Cam never had not one true legit THREAT at WR. Like a LEGIT guy.

  8. This post lost me at trade CMC for a 1st.
He has played all of 10 games out of a possible 33 in 2 seasons.
He's an injury prone RB that's getting older, and has a huge contract.

    I believe we get a mid-round 3rd at best,
probably a package for a 4th, a positional need, and conditional 2nd would be what I consider realistic.

I have a former brother-in-law who I always liked. He was a fun guy to be around.

That said, I wouldn't put him in charge of a lemonade stand, much less something important.

I respect this answer, I've been a fan of the league (as we all have) for quite some time.

A lot of people in the thread are speaking it as if it's absolutely unheard of for players to voice they're upset with coaching or play calling.  I don't mean to give off the impression that the players normally scream 'off with his head ' at the presser, but normally you'll hear a few sly comments that allude to the players disdain.

Also...this isn't a defense of Rhule at all (which I can tell some are trying to turn it into), just an observation about an abnormally quiet locker room. Did we have a single player only team meeting, heated disagreement, etc. as we've had in the past during down years? (granted I may have missed it, I was a bit more disengaged than usual years lol)

  10. Yeah, I definitely recognize the obvious about players wanting to stay professional, needing to get paid etc.

But in the worst run franchises you'll usually get at least a peep about the coaching, or even see it funneling down to the players criticizing each other.  I didn't get much of that.

I definitely see Rhule has a lot of work to do to even be decent.  I'm just a bit surprised to see these guys behaving so calmly. Especially the vets that have dealt with this for 2 years.

  11. I realized; for everyone to hate Rhule as much as they do, and for him to show low competence...
I've noticed players have been surprisingly quiet and taking on the blame, besides R. Anderson at most

Is there a possibility that the players actually DO respect him?
Why hasn't there been more uproar as there has been in past seasons when things have gotten bad.  I barely heard a peep smh.
I'm genuinely confused at this point, he must be a great car salesman as everyone calls him.
