While I have a chance to be overly excited I'll take that opportunity. The team will determine what happens with that. It's been a while since we've had much to be excited about, I'd say let's just embrace it and see how it unfolds.

I agree, but they do these practices with other teams so they don't have to play starters in the preseason. We've seen it for years
lmao that's a good point;
but at the same time I think and HOPE Canales learned from how he operated last year, only giving us one real look against the Bills that had people shouting 'Super Bowl'...only to come out flat.-

With him being a young speed guy just let him sit until he's 110% healthy.

Thankful for the “neat” factor if anything
Yeah I couldn't get excited, and didn't even read the story when we signed him. It would've been very cool about 2 years ago. This year we're so deep at WR you know it would take a lot for him to stay on anything more than Practice Squad (which is still an amazing accomplishment in life I should say).

Neither Barkley nor even a healthy CMC would move the needle much for us. Those are guys that impact teams that already have impressive overall offenses and defenses, so they can perform the complimentary roles that make them actually valuable. We should know that specifically because CMC almost never moved the needle on bad Panthers team after bad Panthers team. Ask Giants fans about that with Saquon.
I get what you mean, but we have a lot of pieces that weren't here for CMC. With CMC I feel like we rarely had a solid QB and WR duo for the offense to play around. Now I think we have potential for that and that would open up CMC's game a lot; also opening up the offense for Bryce (who can also use his legs) and 3 good young WRs and a vet.

what about the retiree Aaron donald??
Just to keep up with my "what about this"
Garrett is 4-3 right, Parsons would a monster OLB end if heathly.....
TJ watt should get votes too, he's got numbers with anyone..
You know what's also funny....I literally thought about that too lmao
I'd take Aaron Donald for sure. But if I can play what if....
I may actually take a healthy CMC lol.
Because I'm indecisive, I'll put in my final bid for a top tier TE, idk about Kelce at this stage in his career though.-

I thought about removing QB from the equation because of Bryce but damn yall went there already
I was literally thinking just as I came across this post "This would be a much harder question and more entertaining thread if you couldn't say a QB." lol
The answer is Mahomes, Lamar, or Josh
Non-QB: I think I'd love Jamarr or JJ. Then I might even go Myles Garrett for this years team. -

Almost as if to not only trade up, not only take a devalued position in the 2nd round, not only take an injured player but trade up in the 2nd round to pick a RB that was already injured lmao
You broke down this move perfectly; close the thread.
This is exactly why I'm so pissed, the only justification I try to lay my head on is they were saying he should've been the #1 RB in that draft without injury, and also he looked very shifty last year. But man. I felt this was a bad pick when we made it, and it's looking horrible now.-

they'll put it in the notes app and tell us to screenshot the :05 video
would work just fine for me -
I haven't seen this surface anywhere else reputable yet, so I wouldn't get my hopes up lol

We all know that if JC walked or was traded, he’d be a beast somewhere else and we’d just piss and moan over what could’ve been. We got our guy, he’s ours. It’s a risky move but I see the upside. LFG!
I know I'm just stating the very obvious...
but it's always funny in the NFL that if you let a guy like Jaycee walk, he could stay hurt and we get some solid young replacements with the money and now Dan Morgan is a genius.
Or you let him walk, he randomly heals like Wolverine and plays like Revis and now you're an idiot.
We'll just have to hope with time this move pays off lol -

Hurney, who turned 69 in December, was hired as the Commanders’ executive VP of football/player personnel in 2021 and relegated to his advisor role after the team went out and hired a new coach and general manager last offseason. With his contract now expired, Hurney is no longer with the Commanders and is free to sign with any team who may be interested in his services.
In the spirit of due diligence, I would want to see what he's learned and changed since being here, and how much of a factor he was in building this last team/drafting Jayden Daniels.

I'm glad to see this. He was notably absent last year, while CJ was making the rounds like an actor on a press tour lol.

A healthy Kupp on this team would be nasty paired with our developing young guys and Thielen.

I assumed Thielen was gone, but if he doesn't take a big step back with age that is a huge relief to have a possession veteran that you can rely on. Bryce may have some weapons depending on the progression of Coker, Legette and Sanders plus maybe one good starter in FA.

Cam may have said something different before, and it may have been a lie. And this is the issue I'm having with Cam as I listen to more and more of him away from football. He almost seems anti-social in a way, and extremely superficial. I never bought into those criticisms before but some of that is surfacing now.
When you say anti-social where does that come from/what have you seen? I felt like he'd probably been showing more of his personality, but I'm also not as tuned in to some of his newer projects.

He’s going to catch flack for that comment of all 11 guys doing their job to win a SB. Because he didn’t jump on that loose ball.
I wonder if that also was a slight dig at Remmers. His breakdowns in protection was the biggest factor in that superbowl outcome.
Newton definitely was let down by others during that Super Bowl; we had momentum going down the field so many times only to turn the ball over.
We see especially in these 2025 playoffs where those turnovers end up being the difference.-

I kind of figured he may make some of these points, especially given the current standard in sports. It's all about perspective.
Thoughts?

I liked: McConkey, DeJean, Fiske, Frazier, McMillan and Franklin. All three of the WRs had better tape than XL, yet we traded up and took the guy that needed the most development. GM, scouts and coaches can't help themselves when trying to 'mold' underdeveloped players. Take the freaking layup and draft the more polished player!
lol yeah that's one thing I didn't love about our draft at all. We picked Brooks who was coming off of a Torn ACL and was a gamble to even picka RB that high. And Legette who was a known body catcher with limited sample size from college. Both of our picks were a little too based on potential for us to be so bad.
We need a few guys that are ready to step in asap. I guess every rookie is based on potential, but some guys are projects. We can't afford any projects.-

I wouldn't say it was easy, but it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be before the season. Remember carolina traded up from #9. Houston earned the #2.
Having such a tough rookie season may benefit our young QB in the end. A lot of vet/retired greats have said it.
Yeah, it was always funny hearing ESPN hosts say "They had the #2 pick for a reason" as if our record got the pick lol

I want us to keep Evero, I feel like we gave him a horrible foundation, and then it became full of injuries. Along with a historically bad offense that couldn't keep them off the field at one point...
But lately something about the fact that it's the worst in HISTORY makes me feel like the coach has to take some accountability. In franchise history cool...but NFL HISTORY??
We joke about how the NFL has a script for the season. But maybe it's not a joke?

I've always wondered why they make holding a 10 yard penalty. Very excessive for something that isn't a malicious/injury inducing act.
