They didn’t have that much time to form a bond. One good year and then Cam started being impaired by injuries and missing time. Then gone.

https://sportslens.com/news/football-violence-worst-football-riots/ Hooligans! I have heard that word so many times in the same sentence with soccer. And that’s just the UK where they use that word. I don’t know what they call them everywhere else. Soccer culture is riot culture looks like to me. We have enough of that crap here. I am not joking, you never see any of this type of stuff in our country with the NFL.

Alternate timeline Panthers owner’s daughter is doing well at Wimbledon
strato replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Okay but at the same time, Lynch said this himself and I my recollection is that he was not in SF at the time. I'll try to find the article. Okay it wasn’t an article it was this video: It absolutely would have been different. If Navarro was in synch enough to immediately track Lynch, he was on the money coming into the game, day one. And again, our man Tepper took two years to consider every variable and then made that move. I mean, poo he was two years behind even if he was right. And he was not. This guy has the worst record in pro sports and to suggest anybody else would be that bad, unlikely. There is no other owner with Tepper’s failure rate. And I mean, Lynch has been pretty successful. I don’t see how it could parallel with Tepper’s ownership record at all. Okay yes, it is water under the bridge and I am hoping he has finally learned enough to do a better job than his first 6 years. I’m leaning towards feeling like he has bottomed out finally. I really believe this year will tell. If he can’t straighten up and do right after the last couple of years he never will. -

As far as it goes, and fwiw, Navarro reached out to John Lynch before Lynch went to SF about running things for him if he could get the franchise. According to Lynch. Which sure sounds a lot better than what happened. I thought it said a lot about Navarro, like he is just more intuitive than the other guy who took two years to figure it out and then hired Rhule. Just sayin’. I know it is what it is now. -
Obviously so much has been invested in this offense in the 2023 and 2024 offseasons, and there are no more excuses for the QB. I would say that makes me more excited for this year than last. My biggest curiosity is scheme/Young what is that going to look like? I have my own general picture of what I think it will look like and if the people up front are what we are paying for then the running game should be much improved. At least from the standpoint of moving the LOS in the right direction when we need to have a yard. That would be a great help. But I don’t know yet how they can get the defenses backed off and that’s what I am curious to see. I’m not worried really at all over the receiving options I think there are plenty it comes down to can they get the ball in their hands through the air.

REPORT: Martavis Bryant has had contact with Panthers
strato replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don’t know why it’s a big deal to anyone. If you have had a prior connection with someone in the game that could help you get back in, you are going to mine that. Even if that guy doesn’t think it will work, he thinks he needs to show you the respect of being sure. Or tells yu they are set but a workout so we know, just in case. That is pretty common. What else is there here? -
Vikings draft pick dies in car crash

Wouldn't the judge in DUI #8 bear some culpability? Ditto for DUI judge #7. It isn’t just her, I mean she has shown everyone what she is about; telling her no doesn’t work. -
Well he has to sweat a lot earlier than most when these salaries get so crazy. Which they totally are. I thought ‘Tepper sees this he won’t be happy’ lol.

True about offseason but since it was brought up, the NFL is seeming more and more like ‘the man’ as I go through life. It seems like the divestment and subsequent acquisition was engineered. Like, they had a buyer they wanted.... hmmm where can we put him? -
That's where I’m at. It is time for him to get his stuff together and do what is necessary. Which is be a cheerleader and write the checks. One day at a time, Dave. You can do it.

It is mostly boredom.

Vikings draft pick dies in car crash

Replying to razor forgot to quote: Sad to say would have been better, I didn’t mean I was personally apologizing for anything. I have driven with a buzz for sure. Long life, lots has happened. Also was a totally sober person for a long time. Seen both sides. The biggest issue as I see it is with people who have one too many and then it is on... they have lost all control and judgement when they have that one that pushes them over. That, is really dangerous. -
If we were somewhere that was okay, we could have a fun conversation I am pretty sure.

You are never going to stop it. Just like you can’t bring people back. It just is an even if you make it all illegal you will still have it,. Sorry to say. Getting BAC measuring prior to an automobile's ignition is probably the best you are going to do, realistically. But that should help a lot. -
I am personally inexperienced in both. I’ll take the chicken. [we are sure it’s chicken, right?]

My job wasn’t sports but it was very much a team oriented proposition. I wouldn’t know how to argue against the track record critics. I’m with them I think maybe the question is: is Tepper capable/incapable of learning, of overcoming his compulsion to impart his vision via firing people. Question mark. Certainly he understands that that is not ideal. To have your prize draft pick worked and trained in a nice continuous arc is the ideal, bi-annual disruption is not at all the ideal. Even when it is disrupted with the best of intentions. He has to figure this out sooner or later, right?

Until he is a total liability, he should play out his contract since it is basically guaranteed. In the case of him repeating 2023, we do not give him starting status for 2025, and we move to upgrade the position. But he will know the system. It is simple: insist he honor the contract until it benefits you for him to not be bound by it. I think if he stinks it up again, you salvage whatever value you can any way you can and that is likely the only way.

Looking good. I was obligated to attend an annual party in the next town and there was a whole pig which was great but no killer chicken like that.

Welp it will be one or the other. They will be vindicated in their judgement or crucified for the lack of it. They are new I am giving benefit of the doubt for now. We have enough mistakes from Fitterer and Tepper et al to be skeptical for sure but I’ll stick with the 2023 mistakes as my primary concern (QB) over whether we start a 2nd round rookie at C. It needs to be seen but that is where I lean. For real, with this guy at QB being totally unproven, and you being tasked with bringing him into viability, would you feel that putting him under a raw rook would be the favored move?
-
I am not making this judgement personally but maybe we are purging under performers or people with opposing philosophies and he is at the bottom of the ‘to do’ list. We don’t know why at this time. Maybe it will come out. He isn’t a key player in much, being VP of...
-
I was OTR as saying I did not see them taking a C high. Like Vegas, I wasn’t taking a side necessarily, more just speculating on what they would do. My deciding factor was I did not believe they wanted a rookie starting there. I don’t see anything screaming they are stupid and feel like it is a fairly calculated risk based on their experience. I won’t condemn it before I see it, about that simple.
