I still think there is a difference, which will interesting to see play out.  Brady wasn’t a beloved GOAT.  I mean most, not saying there weren’t anti-Tiger folks, but the majority were rooting for him.  Same with a Jordan.  I think most people rooted against Brady.

31 other teams and their fanbases.

As of right now i have the stance that i dont want Bryce to get injured because if he is not on the field for any reason other than he was just that bad then we will have to do this whole process over again next year. Before you know it we will be in year 4 and thats when you are talking about contract extension and 5th year option and i will be DAMNED if i support this team if they tie up 40% of the cap to pay this guy and he hasnt proved worth it.

There is zero chance that happens.

Same reason they moved up to #1 despite not doing so at the time for a specific player.   Tepper does what he wants with his team.  Tepper picked Bryce.

    Image result for david tepper

Nothing says Frank wanted to do this experiment in Carolina with a unicorn rookie QB.   I still think the reporting was true, there was a big internal split.  Tepper won.  Same time it was reported they were divided, Frank world people were on TV pimping hard for CJ and that Frank simply had a type for his O.   CJ was the best fit of the big 3 for Frank.

I think drafting Bryce was fine.  But then they shouldn't of hired Frank.  I think Frank would have been an okay Fox/Ron type hire...if they gave him what he wanted.

I've heard all of that before. I still have a hard time with that theory.  I just can't see Tepper forcing a qb on Frank that he didn't want or believe in. It doesn't excuse Franks ineptitude in all this in any capacity. Both qbs were there and was the first 2 taken.

So what do you want then?

    The vet coach? = Reich

    The team builder = Rhule?

Im my opinion we picked up a young coach, who has a track record of helping under performing QBs. That EXACTLY what we needed. We have a sunk cost in BY right now so might as well throw everything we have to help his succeed. Given what this team has done with what they had, Im pretty happy with it.

Want? I'm just a spectator. I'm just surprised Tepper went with someone so green that's all. I've never heard of this guy. All I know is that it's a tall order for someone so green to build an offense much less a team.

Dude, have you listened to his presser's? He KNOWS football very very well.

He sounds like he does. Frank knew football very very well also. Coaching? Not so much. He's been mostly a wr coach. He's worked with a few qb's and 1 year calling plays. With the task ahead of him he better walk on water.

    Sober. Still feeling it.

I really like how the schedule is laid out for us. Perfect for a new HC and rebuilding team. Aside from the Bengals, there aren't  any good teams before the bye.

Chargers will be, but they're having to figure poo out just like we are and they'll be coming here for an early game. That one is a toss up. I like our defense against them.

I think we'll give the Bengals a fight, but I wouldn't put money on us winning that one.

But the saints can be swept. They're beat up and just don't have much going on. They'll be at the bottom of the division.

I feel like we will split with the falcons and the bucs.

There's nothing scary about the raiders or that washington team.

Chicago is another toss up, but they aren't scary either....not yet anyways. We're getting them early in the season so I like our chances. I especially like our defense against a rookie QB.

    And the broncos....boring.

    Giants....again, boring.

Looking at this, we've got a good defensive thing going on. I think the unit will be better this year a d we're in season 2 of Evero. I like us especially against rookie QBs, and we'll have at least 3 we're facing before the bye.

We come in and play smash mouth football and just keep hitting (pounding) away and I think we're competitive.

It's that schedule after the bye that scares me. Hopefully by that point they've built up a lot of confidence.

You get a scrappy dawg that's got some confidence and a lot of fight in him and you've always got a shot. I think that's what we'll be this year.

This year isn't about winning all the games. It's about building confidence and learning what we've got to do.

But looking at that later schedule and it's not horrible. We've got the eagles and chiefs....that's scary, but then we've got the cardinals and cowboys at home...and it's the cowboys in December. When have they been scary in December?

And we've got division games in there as well.

I think we'll do ok. The more I look at it, the better I feel about it.

You forgot to mention that we are not a good team. But I'm all for it. It beats the hell our of the alternative.

2020 was one of the best qb classes in recent memory.

Joe Burrow, Tua, Herbert, Jordan Love, and Hurts.  Getting five starting qb's out of a single draft class is very rare.

We could have taken Hurts or Love.  Of course, hindsight is 20/20, and if we had taken Love with our first round pick, our fans would have been howling, as Falcon fans are now.  But it probably would have been the right move.

But I agree, Rhule was a fool who made one significant mistake after another.

It's extremely rare. Go back through past draft and count how many times that's happened.

I'm still optimistic he can be a good QB.  And that if he does fail, I don't think size is the #1 reason why.  I'm not saying his small stature helps, but it isn't at the forefront of the issues he has a QB.

One of the biggest improvements I would like to see is him being more decisive.  Not just as a passer but as a runner.  Maybe it was because he was shell-shocked by the midway point, but he took too long to make decisions such as when to escape from the pocket.  His footwork also needs to be worked on.  Neither of those are size issues.  Those are issues QBs of all sizes have.

But Frank wasn't going to address any of those issues until this offseason.  WTF?
