Levis was certainly under the radar during the Combine. The most exciting news of him was his bravado. And Levis doesn't even have the best tape, but who knows?

The difference between he and Stroud is not a wide as you think as far as the tape goes. But I think their pro days might have a sway one way or the other. Don't get caught up in the Underwear Olympics hype. The difference has to outweigh the cost to acquire as well. If they view it a push they may wait for someone else to pay top dollar for the first choice before swooping in to get the guy left.

    Yeah.

I just wasn't expecting a response. That seemed like it triggered you.

I wasn't saying Cam was better. I was just pointing out how Cam got a team to a SB when Luck was considered a generational QB. You would think Luck would have got there more than Cam.

    No big deal.

Wasn't suggesting Luck was better. I'm just saying 1 man cannot do it by themselves.  Ask Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford or any qb for that matter.

The more I think about it the more I think we have to get to 1. Sounds like we are locked in on Stroud. You can’t risk Houston grabbing him at 2 if that’s your guy.

    Come on down, CJ

My money is on it being Levis right now. It think they try to trade with the Cardinals if possible and let someone else get Young and Stroud.  Just a feeling I have based on nothing but my itching left testicle.

Just looked it up and he's only been there since January of 22. Could make sense to sell the 1 this year and then load up for next year. He doesn't have any ties to Fields really and I think it could be sold to the owner that doing this could be short term pain for long term gain. If Fields turns the corner and becomes a franchise QB, they have their guy. If not, move on, draft the next one. The more I think about it, the more I think it's what I would do if I were in his position.

All of that's IF the owner is down for it. Poles got the job because the last guy got fired. I doubt he's afforded the opportunity to continue whatever got the last GM fired.

  5. Everyone wants to get paid what they think they are worth. The trouble is your employer may not think you are worth that to have you doing that job. Especially if you are living up to the job expectations your employer set out for you.

Lamar is about to find out what someone is willing to pay him to do the same job. If he doesn't live up to those expectations after that then that employer will question whether the Ravens weren't right all along.

Oh I get it. It's also a bad look to the new drafted QB if they move on from Fields after 2 years considering what he's been given to work with. Stroud has already said he doesn't want to go to Chicago because of Fields. Poles is trying to maximize his take to see if Fields turns the corner this offseason. If he does, he's loaded with picks. If he doesn't, he's still loaded with picks and a very good chance to land a top QB in what many are saying is potentially a better class. Win-win IF Poles keeps his job.

If he keeps his job. It may sound great to us fans but to an owner?  It probably sounds more like hey, if we are wrong and have a losing season it's okay. Look what we have in our pockets to try again. He's thinking about why he is spending big money on these supposed experts when I can get any fan to do that sh!t.

If it goes poorly for them again this year with Fields, they're likely sitting in one of the top 2 spots with a plethora of picks to surround their new QB with offensive line talent and a couple new receiving weapons to boot.

But it will not be a good look to miss out twice in a qb. They may have the picks but who's making the call at that time may not be who decided to pass on one of these guys for Fields.  Just saying.

If we're talking about risk, THAT would be the biggest risk a team could take in this draft. You have a young guy who has shown promise despite being surrounded by nothing. If you move him to take another QB you damn well better be right because if you draft a bust and Fields goes on to flourish elsewhere you're now officially the biggest jackass in sports.

You could also say that if Fields doesn't develop for Bears after they pass on one of the guys and that goes on to be a stud, well that would be bad. It would be much worse for them if after all that happened the would probably cut or trade Fields and he then goes on to win a SB for his next team. There's a lot of ways this can go wrong for the Bears. That's why they want all those picks.  They need have some options to get out of a serious mistake if the choose poorly.
