I'm more interested in listening to the interviews with our staff. I never watch the drills unless one of our coaches is caught watching them.

I'm guessing Evero and his staff will be there today as well.

The impression I'm getting is that no matter what the do with Carr they will draft one of the top 5 qb's. Which one is anyone's guess as they are not showing any indication of which one they favor just just.

Meh…I feel like without a franchise QB or an historically elite defense, a team is always basically rebuilding. The
Panthers don’t have either.
And it’s coach speak anyways. No coach is going to say they aren’t going to try and win just yet.
But I do think they draft a QB. I also think Burns will be traded for the ability to do that.
I do not believe Reich will have a winning season year 1.
In any case who really cares what happens with Darnold? I mean think about it…he isn’t the future and so the options are stay and be a cheap backup, stay and be a cheap QB for 3-4 games until a rookie comes in then be a back up, or don’t get resigned at all. Doesn’t anyone truly care what happens out of those?
My guess is Sam would fall in the category of being that plan C ,backup for the future rookie starter. He's forced to start because the rook isn't ready.
What I'm starting to think is that it's coming down to going all in for a shot at one of the top 3 or signing Carr and draft whatever qb's left at 9. They could also take the best edge rusher left on the board and go for qb at the bottom of the 1st but I get the sense Fitterer would go TE or WR in that situation and look to get a qb in the second. After getting a qb they would then use the rest of the picks on TE, WR and defense.
There's just too many options available to settle just one.

QB is off the board if we sign Carr.
Unless you think Carr is taking a major paycut I don't see how we still take a QB. Carr would need some weapons around him.
Carr doesn't change the future plans. He would be a now plan. Meaning they would not have to go all in to trade up. They would go bpa at 9 and if it's a qb great. It would allow them to consider another developmental qb outside of the top 3 to sit behind Carr to develop as his backup for the time being.

Rich folk problems.

Say we sign Carr and Jalen Carter is on the board at #9 do you take him?
In that situation? Maybe. If I thought I had a good chance to get a good qb I would say hell yes.

They are going to go defense. They are not drafting a QB with that pick.
They are going to trade that pick for the best offer they get. The GM needs a lot of picks and they are telling everyone that are listening to make offers for it. They've been contacted by nearly half the league about what it will cost them. I doubt one defensive player is going to make them turn down multiple 1st and 2nd round picks and more. You do the math and tell me where this is going.

Sounds like we could definitely be doing something at the QB position. Call it a hunch
I sense a disturbance in the forse that I've not felt in a long time.

Alcohol stays in the system longer than that, and from what I heard on ESPN, he returned to the scene after a couple of hours.
I have not heard the full details about the incident so I was speculating. I also do not watch ESPN.

Do the Bears want to risk dropping past 2 now that Carter will be dropping?
I do not think it effects what they were going to do. They are trading it to the highest bidder or taking a qb.

Why are people down on Darnold?
He actually looked like a decent bridge QB after we fired Rhule. He can be the bridge QB until the rookie QB develops.
I've often wondered why myself. I admit I have kicked some sand on the guy a few times when he was down. But the depth of the disgust some feel towards the man has me wondering if he disparaged their mother in some manner.

Did you catch any of Steichens press conference? I came away thinking we hired the right coach. I also caught some of Chris Ballard's. He was parroting everything Reich outlined about getting a franchise qb.

Fitt checked out all of them. Person is just guessing like everyone else.

It's still Fitterer, Morgan and Suleiman.
Only big change is from Pat Stewart to Adrian Wilson.
And they all have a say in it. Last year was last year. I thought Levis was the initial target as well. But there's some real coaches evaluating this class this year so it's anyone's guess.

The coaches would have to have an extremely high level of confidence in the rookie, otherwise they're likely destroying the team's chances at a winning season by putting their eggs in Darnold's basket.
Of course. Scott indicated as much in his press conference. So you will get an idea of what they really think of this class by who the sign in FA.

Joe Person was on Robert Mayes podcast and said for a fact our front office was in love with Levis last year. Watched multiple games etc. He wasnt sure if that mentality has changed but last year everyone in the front office liked what they saw
But it's not the same FO. There are smarter people in the room this time around. Now I'm not saying that crosses Levis off the list. But I would not put much stock in what the opinions were last year.

You could probably get away with Jacob Eason on the practice squad.
Corral? I'm not so sure.
Yeah that is going to be interesting to watch. If I'm not mistaken Eason was resigned before they hired Reich?

Yeah, this is where I'm at. The Panthers couldn't possibly think it would be a good idea to go into this season with a rookie, Corral and Darnold. There has to be a reliable vet in the mix and Darnold isn't it.
Depends on how long you need Donald to start I suppose. Say you think you can have the rookie ready enough by mid season then maybe to could tolerate Sam for that long. I think you could win most of those games with him until you let the rookie take over from there. If the rookie is a full season away then that changes things a bit. It's a tough call either way.

One of those could technically be Jacob Eason
One thing is certain, Corral and Eason are thrilled to finally have a coach that can teach how to be a pro qb.

Surprised the corral fanboys havent commented on this. Its pretty much what we've been saying since his surgery. He will not begin to practice until at least July. It was already going to be a long shot for him to do anything for this team and now it just seems unfathomable. Did Reich and Co carry 3 qbs in Indy? Doesnt look like it
The circumstances being as they are may require 3 here. I'm not sure Indy had the same issues as we have had.

While that's certainly a valid tale, I don't remember seeing this kind of thing before Rhule either.
Different staff from top to bottom. It's a whole new world we live in. Nothing will ever be the same.
