His main strength is his run defense.
Perfect to pair with Derrick Brown to hopefully start adding beef and stop this front from being a leaky sieve.
This is sorely needed. If they can get push up front it will help whatever bandaid Jags the can scrap together to mitigate some of the damage.

Evero pushed for us to sign him. I wonder if Evero had any say in the others we let go on defense
I'm sure he got to weigh in on it before any of it happened.

I like the decision to get another DT. Is this guy worth a roster spot or is he just a bandaid?

#3 and #8 ranked guards 4 total sacks allowed.....
THE TURSTILES we had last season all 8 of them combined gave up 35! I'm no math wiz but hmmm
Give them time. It will become obvious eventually.

The Eagles were cutting Sweat. That's a good one to look at IMO.
This is an instance where 2 dimes might actually end up being better than a quarter.

That's a 3rd of Burns cost with equal production and better run defense.
They could sign another similar DE to go with him and end up getting more production for half of what Burns got.

Panthers have about 33-35 million in cap space, so it’s not a cash problem.
Hunt only counted 6 million or so this year and Lewis was less than that.
What do you know about long-term plans at center?

You guys might want to check out his stats too. Can barely play a full season, never more than 8 sacks. You can sign two scrubs that will rotate and give you that.
I'm down for that too. It will require waiting until the preseason and final cuts. I would rob teams practice squads to fill holes this season.

My view? If he is cheap, why not? He is 24, will get 9-10 sacks, and we would have paid $25m for that. We can't fill all the holes this year. Do I expect much? No, but when I was 24....
If they give him $20m, NO. If they give him $2-4 m, maybe.

I mean, wasn't the rumor he was almost benched last year for lack of effort/caring......on a stacked/SB favored team? I mean, he was setup to excel in SF. You can't give him attention on that D.
I don't want him. He is just a name that would cash a check.
Pretty much.

Thank you good sir!
Thank you for speaking the truth that most don't want to hear. You said it better than I ever could.

That didn't help his case for sure.

In theory yes. With offenses taking more and more underneath passes and not going deep as much a stronger investment in LBs, especially one strong at coverage, as opposed to safeties could make sense.
I'll take it.

well, when they refused two first round picks and then some for him.....they essentially then conceded they viewed him as someone worthy of top tier DE money. Because if not, you take the picks the moment that absurd offer was made for him.
I mean, that's when they botched it. You can't have it every which way. Refusing the picks means they had to overpay him. They opted to just botch it all.
Pretty much. How they didn't know what Burns was looking for in money when the trade offer was turned down is beyond me. If they knew they weren't paying him what he wanted then there's not a single reason to turn it down. Nobody turns that down for a player not named Patrick Mahomes.

We’re completely starting over
Had Bryce not looked like the worst QB in all of football (CFL and NFL back-ups included) the Panthers wouldn’t be going in this direction
They know he’s ass
The entire team was ass. It's not just Bryce.

The Panthers did do right by Burns. He got his money. It just wasn't from the Panthers. Sheena needs to follow Burns to New York.

I mean, he’s pretty solid, maybe a little below burns, but he shows up in games lol. He kinda looks like burns too.
Then that should satisfy his fans. As for me? As long as he earns his money I dgaf.

I heard he was worth it…puts his thing down, flips it, and reverses it.

What does that even mean?
