Dave and others had drew in Seattle. They tried to sign him this off-season, I heard big backup numbers. Drew thought giants backup was a faster path to starting.... He should be cheap as well.
Not that Im some super fan, just reading leaves and using history.
You really think he can be a starter?

From what I understand, his contract is up at the end of this year anyway.
She'd still just as soon see him fired ASAP, regardless.
I cannot help her unfortunately. What will she do when Jerry drafts Sheduer Sanders and makes Deion the head coach?

That is a fact.

She wants McCarthy fired.
Tell her that the Panthers will probably take care of that for her.

I say hope til you drop. Kinda the whole point to watching sports.
Be somewhat realistic. I only want improvement. Canales has already shown with his benching he isn't going to put him on the field without good reason which to me would be best chance of winning or learning and getting better.
He certainly has shown Young that his draft status isn't going to buy him any grace going forward. That's a positive sign at least.

In the top 10 perhaps but I am not sure how much that makes sense unless the plan is to trade/cut Ikey or Moton.
There is a possible future path for Ikey at OG or RT if need be but that would be a mighty big waste of top 10 draft capital, IMO.
Ultimately, if the best OT tackle in the draft is available or is BPA, I am 100% for making that choice.
I'm just saying I wouldn't rule anything out. But yeah, I'm hoping Dan truly sticks to a bpa mindset. He didn't do that last year but the early results are somewhat trending in the right direction. It's not bad for not having a 1st round pick. Time will tell of course.

I would think he would be a very affordable re-signing. Also, this draft might be the one to finally draft a center.
I haven't been paying attention but are there any good OT's in the upcoming draft?

It’s weird that they changed all these rules and adjusted the way refs work a game to get more offense and while scoring is up, passing is down.
I've noticed that. You see more 25 total passes than 35. It seems the average passing yards are are 200 ypg around the league. Strange times we are living in.

No, just acknowledging he is on a run heavy offense, throwing to rookies who are developing but not exactly a recipe for a ton of productivity. Yet what i see as positives is actual pocket presence last 3 games, willingness and ability to stay and go through progressions, take shots downfield. He has a long ways to go but i see those as positive steps to hopefully more accelerated growth. Let’s see how they finish the year
I think Herbert's yards are down this year because Harbaugh is a run first guy. They were talking about it this morning on GMFB as the case with several qb's this season. It is a factor. But Young will need to get to league average in YPG if he hopes to have a shot.

KC will be telling.
Telling? The Panthers are going to get curb stomped. The Chiefs have arguably the best defense in the league. Yeah our 30th ranked offense is really going to light them up. Young may not break 100 yards.

Unfortunately, yea. A lot of media talking heads are pushing that these last couple games is Bryce figuring it out and becoming an NFL QB. It's ridiculous and I don't understand it, but it's there.
It's like all these things that are so carefully picked over when evaluating other QB's are just completely ignored when talking about BY9. It's just beyond me.
So? It doesn't mean anything. I haven't seen any mention of a celebration. There's nothing to celebrate. Saying he played better than complete ass is not a celebration. It's still not good enough and everyone knows it. The media will not come out and say that so they exaggerated it. Just like everything gets exaggerated here.

He also was quoted as saying that he figured the NFL was going to be easy. Now that it isn't, he is reevaluating. It is easy to say they don't love it or the money makes them different. But now that they are on podcasts and give more behind the scenes interviews, you see how some of these kids are wired. I think he is just lazy due to being a top tier athlete his whole life and now that it is a profession it has beat him down mentally like it does so many QB prospects. Especially a guy who had less than 20 starts after highschool. I will say this, I don't think he has it mentally to make the jump and rebound on his own. He will need coaches, mentors to get him there and be willing to listen.
If he doesn't have the desire and commitment to be the best don't waste your time on him.

I feel like I'm going insane when I hear basically anyone related to the NFL outside of Carolina talk about how good Burns is. The commentators during this last game were gushing all over him, and indirectly implying that the Panthers were fools to let him go. It's infuriating that he gets away with only having one or two above average plays per game, and he gets called elite for it. Oh well, not our problem anymore.
The commentators are paid to pump up players. It doesn't have to be true because fans will believe it because they said so.

Most overrated player in Panthers history. Good riddance.

I just don't think he loves football.
He got his money and a little fame and checked out. That is hard to predict when evaluating a prospect. Sometimes it's obvious but many times it's not until they get that 1st nfl check.

The Panthers have always waited until they needed a qb to draft one. They should have drafted Cams replacement 2 years before Cams 2nd contract was up to sit behind Cam to learn and grow. Now they are struggling to find someone to sit a rookie behind that can win some games. They will not find anything but a short term backups and they already have two that cannot win games. You can't make this up.

I mean if we are going 1st round busts, don't forget about Anthony Richardson. Might be the biggest first round QB bust since Rosen.
I still cannot believe what he did. I'm not sure how he recovers from that.

I got the same right as anyone else on here, but it isn't crazy talk. It is a basic opinion and prediction. Ignore it and enjoy the rewards.
Get that kid out of here or we are fuged for year three.
I'm referring to silencing opinions.

Could you even imagine waking up everyday like… “welp, let’s go fist fight Derek Brown for 3 hours” ??
That's if Derek is not getting rest on the sidelines while you battle the guy that's fresh off the bench. Oh,and you cannot come off the field without getting injured. Good luck!

The hopium though, it is too powerful to fool with and it only takes a little taste to set people back to June of 2023. It fucvking dangerous and it needs to be removed from influence.
And what gives you the right and authority to decide what anyone should think or believe? I hope you are not serious with that crazy talk.

poo, exactly who is sold on Bryce that isn't named David Tepper??
I'm not sure he is anymore. Young has ran out of grace for being a rookie and the mulligan for last season. Those tokens have been used up. He's on his own from here on out.

I will be doing the same if Tepper falls for it. Wherever that kid goes his pops will have to be the OC at minimum.
