    this the Panthers.

so what would be the worst case scenario? Bryce hangs around.  We win like 2 more games.   Bryce still clearly sucks and isn't a NFL QB.  We do however manage to win ourselves out of the Ward, Sanders, etc sweepstakes.   We go into next season with some pointless QB battle of Bryce Young, some Joe Flacco type and some practice squad type player.

I don't think there's a qb in this coming draft that's going to help the Panthers next season. But they will get more competition, they have to. I'm not concerned where the competition comes from honestly as I'm not seeing anyone that will change the teams fate again next season. If they trade Young they will need 3 qb's next season. Getting a starter and a backup that will allow them to compete is a fantasy idea and not based in reality. I'm no Young homer but you need at least 1 qb to be a backup. I'm not afraid the team sticks with him as a starter unless they can't do any better. If they cannot do better then I will start to worry.

  2. I will say that the entire team seems to be still buying in. They played hard yesterday and that's a welcome sight. I'm also happy they managed to hang the title of worse team in the league around the Saints neck. I love that part the most. Now I know it's only temporary and we will still finish in dead last most likely but it will be fun while it lasts.

We will see. That group does still have Goff and he appears to have a team set up for him to succeed. I don't personally believe he is a guy that can elevate the team around him and he has a history of coming up short in crunch time.

Yeah, he really does have some JaMarcus Russell vibes. You really wonder if he loves the game or just happens to be a freak physical specimen that can play QB.

He could be the type that thinks he's arrived now that he was drafted and can live off his talent alone. Money changes people and especially young people. You cannot predict that before you draft them.

Most likely not. AR just does not see the field well at all. He is best suited to sitting for a while, learning and watching.

He was yawning during their game yesterday. He didn't even look out at the field as far as I could tell. He may be done in Indy and the nfl altogether if he keeps that up.

So what's the appropriate reaction? To say nothing? To shout Bryce is the best qb ever? To say he's still a bust he didn't do Jack poo? Where are you going with this

Maybe ignore things that seem to trigger you?  I do not live my life trying to get others to conform to my way of thinking so I don't know what to tell you other than just ignore it.

  6. He needs to keep Miles Sanders on the bench. He sucks as a 3rd down back. It's 3 and out every time they bring him in on 3rd down. Well pretty much any down really.  He's a drive killer. It's the same with Ian Thomas.

  7. Does it matter? He is definitely playing better I will give him that. If they are not going to trade him then play him. But if they trade him then it's hoping Andy can finish the season. I would play him and trade him in the offseason if I draft another one. I might even keep him and still draft another one. That's probably what the team should do.

No. The issue is all colleges run a read option or spread.  These kids are taught from day one to do 1 read and go.  The nfl is still pro style. The last issue is they are forced to play early when they aren’t ready. That’s your issue. The nfl needs to go to a point where they “red shirt” these guys. Give them an extra year on a guaranteed  rookie deal if you have too. They aren’t ready.  It’s that simple

That's not an nfl issue it's an owner issue. The owners put pressure on the coaches to play them before they are ready. Very few if any have a vet to sit behind for at least a year to learn and adjust to the game. The Panthers would benefit from having a serviceable veteran that would allow them to sit their next rookie. Had they done that last season maybe things would look different.

I don't disagree but that doesn't mean we can't sign free agents. I mean, we literally have to do this. Everyone in the NFL does.

Cheap 1 yr contracts sure. They have to field a complete roster of course. What I'm saying is they should not be handing out any contracts over 2 years to anyone until they draft their core players. So far i would argue they do not have na single one. Until that happens I do not have any faith that this team will ever be more than the worst team in the league.

We can't hand out big FA contracts but we also can't sit on our hands. You make a couple of shrewd FA moves and it starts to tilt the scale towards actual rebuild.

If I thought like Tepper and felt the team is only a couple of players away from competing then that is probably what I would do. But this team is nowhere near being able to compete with anyone right now. They would be getting curb stomped even if they didn't have a single injury. This team will not break .500 for another 3 years. That's if Tepper doesn't fire everyone again and they magically hit on most of their draft picks. You cannot convince me otherwise.

    Two rookies too.

Man, though. We can find a WR down the draft we don't need to keep pumping big capital into this offense with the kinds of defensive holes we have.

Now you're getting it. This team does not need to hand out anymore big FA contracts. They will have to draft their core and weapons, none of which they have yet. They have 2 rookie receivers that may or may not pan out and 1 that has been a disappointment. They do not have a qb1 or 2. The LT is still debatable and the defense, where to start. If you think they are fixing that in 1 offseason I pitty you.

My biggest concern with Legette being able to run a full route tree is his change of direction and quickness.  He's very fast running in a straight line once he gets going, but he's not going to get separation on lot of routes that rely on anything besides the straight line speed.

He can get open a catch the ball. That's all that matters. I'm sure they are not done with receiver room by any means. It looks as if they may have 2 potential contributors now and that's a good start. Be happy they even have that right now.
