I am not disagreeing with any of that.  But its patently clear that at 32 beane reached out to morgan and fuged with him a bit.  The bills dont care about the 5th option and wanted to see what they could get from morgan for 33/32.  They knew who we wanted.  That also gave them negotiating power for 33 if they wanted to trade.  Its just a friend who is more experienced then you fuging around.  Kudos to him, I hope morgan learns from it.  As I said since yesterday the 5th year option isnt some magic cheat code, if it was you would see more trade ups to utilize it.   If it held all this incredible leverage then the bills simply would have got coleman and held on to the 5th.  I just dont think teams give 2 chits about something 5 years down the road

According to what I've heard the Bills were trading out of 32 regardless. So they gave Morgan a chance to get his guy before someone else jumped us. Was the other trade partner going after Legette? I cannot say. I have a hard time thinking that Beane would play Morgan like that, especially since they could have gained more picks by trading with someone else. But you could be right and Beane played Morgan.

...yea...  limiting the offence.... need to use all weapons available and incorporate that into an attack...not sure why a coach would ignore that facet ...but Thomas...lol..maybe thats why.

I cannot explain why Ian is still here. We here at the huddle have debated that for years now.  We still haven't figured that out.

100%.  But I am guessing its like pranking your friends, its like "damn dude you totally fell for it".  The bills clearly dont give 2 chits about the 5th, knew who we wanted obviously, and called morgan to see if he would bite.  Spoiler alert, he did indeed bite.

Morgan contacted the Bills before they traded with the Chiefs. There were a lot of teams looking to move into the bottom of the 1st. That was reported on nfl network. Now what all the activities were targeting I could not say. I do know there were a lot of interest in the receivers going on at that time. I'm sure Morgan wanted to make sure that they got their guy. Whether he is the right guy has yet to be determined.

The bills clearly didn’t want him. We literally traded with the bills

No but someone apparently did. Several teams were trying to trade up ahead of the Bills and with the Bills themselves. Beane made a deal with Morgan that if they were going to trade out of 32 to give him a call. The Bills could have taken who they wanted at 32 because no team could take their guy except the Panthers who must have told them who they wanted. It's not as cut and dry as you think.

No. Hence why I said we're missed our opportunity to draft a developmental QB

Like I said, we already have that. If he doesn't perform then you will get another developmental qb. Let's just deal with one at a time please.

Yes and he was 9th overall. For me 4.54 isn't slow for a CB, now if you to comment on his short arms, which make you look slower.

richard Sherman was a 4.6 guy by my members unit. I think he was a 5th too.

Hell 40 times are mainly who worked on the the starting blocks 95% of the time.

Ill have to watch the senior bowl stuff to see if he plays slow.

Teams use game speed as their measuring stick. That's what matters anyway.

Yep, if you flip the 3th and 4th, it looks better...... Morgan just trying to get ahead, but not to go on a CP rant.

I hate drafting RB and LB in the 2nd and 3rd, just like the herniay days. Im just a big positional value dude especially in the early rounds. Felt like Morgan drafting in his playing era.....

Position value only matters to nerds. The only thing that truly matters is if they make the team better and help us win. 1st round or 7th round it doesn't matter. All of that goes away the moment they are drafted. I guarantee their teammates dgaf what round these rookies are drafted in. They just want ballers and hard workers on the team. So if they don't care why should I?

2025 isn't a great QB draft though, no? Would love to get Arch Manning in a few years. The last name alone will help us get our first SB win ever considering how they handed the one to Peyton

Then we take the best wr or edge and roll on. Look again in 2026 if necessary. Rushing to draft a top qb is what got us here. This team is not a just qb away.

Captain is the go-to undersized DB fans of this fanbase refer to when they see anyone under 5'11.  They don't realize how high a percentage of corners in this league are in fact 5'11 and under and how variable they can be that play box heavy/in the slot.

That would require some critical thinking. That's a rare commodity these days.

Could be. I think he could be good as a NB slot guy. He's one of those annoying turd corners that sticks with the WR and can't get free of him. Just when you think you're free of him he's there again. Athletic enough to stick with anyone. Hes going to make any target uncomfortable for the QB.

He will have to make his bones on special teams this season to make final cuts I suspect.  He has some skills that might translate to this level.

I was hoping our late round DB would be Stiggers from the CFL.   Think this rules that out.

Not really. These late round picks are just taking flyers on players. They will look to the waiver wire and FA again to fill out other spots until next year's draft. I doubt anyone taken after the TE makes the team unless it's the practice squad.  I don't think they were counting on potential starters from day three. A potential backup maybe if they get lucky.

It cracks me up how some of you feel if you don't recognize the name they automatically suck.

The best ones are the comment that they've never heard of him but compare him to some other underperforming player. How do you know that if you've never heard of the guy? I swear I think people do not listen to the words coming out of their mouth.
