If Deshaun is truly innocent, he needs to get out ahead of this, hold a presser vehemently denying everything, and counter sue for defamation.

If he settles then yeah, he probably did it. Disappointing, but won't end his career. I mean Rothlisberger shoved a women in a bathroom stall and flashed his penis and still went on to play 10 years.

He probably doesn't want to have to answer questions about his habit of flying women across the country to give him a special massage.  You don't want to open that can if worms.

So if they were holding it and keeping victims down and out they should just have that franchise revoked and start up a new expansion team.

Teams try to keep things like this quiet all the time.  This wouldn't be the first time it happened if in fact that is what happened.  It usually never works but it doesn't mean they don't try.

Yep. Lots of high-profile cases happen that way.

Everybody's afraid until one person steps forward, then that emboldens someone else, then another, then another, etc.

Guilty or not, seeing it play out this way doesn't look good.

I mean think about it.  These ladies are faceless people in the crowd like all the rest of us.  They have to face the world because they are accusing a man known all over the Nation and is followed by lunatic fans that will most likely call them names all over the internet at minimum and could face death threats from the same idiots.  That takes a lot of courage to do.  I think I would back off these women for the time being.

Feels like the Texans are giving a fug you to Watson for taking all that guaranteed money/signing bonus and bailing

Pretty much.  I'm sure they already knew about the allegations before they came public. But now that he's not going to be there, whether true or not, they're not going to help him cover it up anymore. That's my take.

Perfect description of the attorney for the injured party in the Britt Reid case.

Grandstanding for a sympathetic cause, no problem.

Same for some women facing up against against an enormously wealthy and powerful QB, problem.

    Seems inconsistent.

This will make the lawyer millions and get his face all over the nation, hell the world!  This guy is no idiot.  Beware of Sal.

To say nothing about the veracity of the claims by the women involved, for or a guy who claims to not be doing it for the attention, this ambulance chaser sure is doing a LOT of talking about himself and his accomplishments. For a guy who claims to not be doing it for the money, it'll be interesting to see what happens with any of his payouts if there ends up being any money collected in these suits. Spoiler alert: they'll end up in his bank account.

Of course they will, it always does.  South Carolina law firms run TV ads 24/7 telling people how much money they got for their clients and they can get that for you too.  I have to watch that crap because I'm located too close to the damn state and all but one local channel is actually local to NC.

If a Civil lawyer is not a complete and utter money hungry douchebag he's not a good civil lawyer.  Sad but true.

Thats true, just paying for woman for sex never appealed to me. I have these talks with guys before and they always say " Youre paying for it one way or another " Ive been lucky to have great genes that attract females, so I am very thankful cause Ive never been rich or lonely. O and they also say " Youre paying them to leave, not sex ". Guess its the fugal side of me coming out, especially whens there 100s young beautiful that dont look like a dumpster Arbys sandwich.

It costs you no matter how you slice it.

Pros do not post stuff on social media either, still Im beyond the understanding of a guy like Watson paying for whores. 7-10 rated women are in athletes DM by the thousands by youre paying for a one that just made had a few gang bangs the day before?

You can't account for taste.  You like what you like. As I always say, whatever trips your trigger have at it.

The athletic just posted an article saying the nfl doesn’t punish for civil suits, HOWEVER, they could investigate this on their own and then they could punish depending on what they find.

That was going to happen eventually.  See Jerry Richardson v Wrangler, Shick, NFL et al

Whatever the outcome this has definitely hurt Watson. Apparently there are 4 cases and the lawyers are trying to find more. How much they find if anything will go a long way to determining his ultimate trade value.  Tepper will take him anyway unless he was suspended from the league. He doesn't care about character as long as you can help the team he is on board.

That's the sense I'm getting as well.

Something is up with this situation. The timing alone is VERY suspect and this lawyer sounds more like a cable news talk show host.

Maybe I'm wrong, but something just doesn't add up here.

It all smells like dog sh*t.  I hope we don't walk away covered in it.

What if Watson paid the women to go to the lawyers to get the Texans to release him.

    Surprise plot twist.

    ================================

    Jeez.  I still reserve judgement.

Or...What if the Texans paid the lawyer to find these women and bring it to light?  I like this game!  Now your turn.

I hope he doesn't go to Washington. Last year Rhule was able to actually use him to his full potential. Going back to Rivera will result in a decrease in production as well

More like Rhule showed Ron how to us him.

Good for him to get paid, that said, I think this will hurt his career if anything in ron riveras system.

I can't see how it helps it. But with what he's getting paid I personally wouldn't mind wasting away on a roster somewhere for 3 years.

Baker was blah until they hired Berry and he did the impossible, stabilized the freaking Browns. Now they are actually winning and using the talent they have acquired by constantly picking top 3 for a decade. Allen was developed by a very good coaching staff, they have spent years building that team up.

I see Urban as a big time college guy, I just don't think he has what it takes to kill it in the NFL. Combined with the mess that is the Jags, that sir is fine entertainment incoming. Just my opinion of course.

He also forgot to mention they were drafted by the team they were on.  One season of good play from each so far.

I don’t believe in stripping down everything on our team for 1 player. The risk are to damn high. We have a fiery, young, and aggressive defense. Yes I will be pissed if we lose it just like that with a “snap” of thanos fingers. But hey, I’m just one guy in this thing. So people don’t give it a poo about my feelings.

    Make that two.

K, can someone with some clout and credibility give a rational take on the current state of this going down with the “allegations”? Timeline, realistic expectations, etc.?

    thanks

Good luck with that.  This is a sh*t show in the making.  Stock up on popcorn.
