Yeah, not sure who you're thinking of. Long retired. Don't recall him getting into any trouble.
Is was thinking of the asshat that got tossed in one of our games a few years back. Might not have even been a Long. Just throwing out random sh*t that rolls through my head. I have 4 ex's that can attest to that.

That’s what this franchise does....it makes stupid moves time and again. I hope they don’t give up 3 firsts for Watson, but I have a bad feeling.
It's actually more like 5 with 2 of them in the form of proven 1st round players on defence, maybe more. I wouldn't give that for Tom Brady. But that's just me.

The Chiefs have reportedly landed the recently unretired Kyle Long.
He out on parole? Or am I thinking of a different brother?

Didn't realize the deal was done. What did we give up?
I have not heard yet. There are insane rumors floating about what it would take. That is what I was referring to, the rumored price. I have my popcorn popping

3-3-5
It looked like 3-2-6, sometimes 4-2.5-4.5 or some variation thereof.

He played this same scheme under the same DC and HC in college and thrived.
think he is going to be good.
I was about to ask him what scheme? Do we actually have one preferred scheme or just base it on whatever players they happen to have on the roster at the moment?

If the Panthers can get Deshaun Watson and not get rid of any of their front 7 pieces, it could be a very fun year next season.
That's is a great big if. The odds are not in your favor.

Deshaun Watson has almost the same exact record with the Houston Texans since he got there as opposed to the four years before he got there, including 1-2 in the playoffs before he got there, and 1-2 in the playoffs since he’s been there…
Watson is viewed by many people as one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL, and there is no record to point that out. If you look at Aaron Rodgers, every year he’s healthy in the NFL with the exception of the year that Mike McCarthy got fired, his teams won 10 games. Same thing with Tom Brady, same thing with Drew Brees, same thing with ALL these guys… Watson somehow gets a pass, when no other quarterback gets a pass for their win/loss record.
You can sit here and pound into the table that Watson is great and that he needs more help. Well, he might have gotten more help if he didn’t sign this gargantuan contract..
Watson is massively, MASSIVELY overrated… It’s really amazing how Teflon that dude is… Was it Bill O’Brien’s fault? Sure. It’s also Deshaun Watson’s. Deshaun Watson is NOT a top 10 quarterback. You are not a top 10 quarterback at 4-11.
There's a lot of truth in this.

It doesn’t matter what I say, because you will say something along the lines of championships are the only thing that matters.
At the end of the day, he is a top 5 QB that has lead his team to back to back winning seasons. Something that we’ve never done. If Rhule and Fitt can’t build a good/great team around Watson, then what makes you think they can do it with Mac Jones?
Your bar is set really low. They could keep Teddy and add more talent with the sh*t ton of money they saved and get back to back winning seasons. Even a slight upgrade at qb would get you your playoff dream. Why mortgage the future if that's all you want?

The draft picks we didn't trade and free agency, man you're dumb

Build around Watson with what? The draft picks you're trading to acquire him? Lol
They keep trying to rationalize what last year's team would have done with a Watson. That team doesn't exist anymore.

There's no real comparable situation to this, honestly. Hard to know the outcome.
This is definitely a gamble. But I'm happy to have an owner and GM willing to gamble to win. Playing conservative hasn't gotten us a superbowl yet.
The line between gambling and stupidity is a fine line my friend.

Some of y’all gotta get over your fear or dislike of superstars, and players that demand attention lol.
If we get Watson, both Rhule and Fitt will build a good team around him. Watson, like most elite QB’s, will carry the team over from good to great.
How many teams has he done that for so far? Asking for a friend.

The surprise is this team will be set back so far they will suck for years if they give up the farm to obtain Watson.
Don't worry, Watson will force another trade.

One thing we are sorely lacking, is decent depth.

I thought spending big in free agency always ended in misery.
It has 99% of the attempts. The only time it has worked was with GOAT coming in, without giving up ANY capital, to a team that was ready for the GOAT. I'm struggling to see that scenario here in Panther land. Not even the GOAT himself could get THIS team to a trophy with the assets you are suggesting they give up to get him much less Watson.

That isn't overhyping, that's an honest assessment of what happened. Carter looks improved and could play more, if so this is a positive overall.
He's decent depth. He hasn't proven otherwise to date.
