The battle of the bastards looked bad too. Let's fight this out and see.
It appears we do not have a choice, like we as fans ever do. They are going to do whatever they want to do with this. I just watch the games and hope we win. If this does go tits up as the odds suggest it will I'm not sure how much more as a fan I can take from this team.

You just said it.... its every year because they just keep pushing more and more money to future years cap space think of it as buying on credit....
They will push it into future as long as they can hoping the league dissolves or forgets about it.

Okay but your logic is still asinine. There are teams that have a high 1st round pick every year and don't win. Does that also mean high 1st round picks don't matter?
It goes both ways. There are multiple ways to build a team. Look at how well the Saints have drafted and yet they haven't made it back to the Super Bowl. Ish happens. Judging if something is a success strictly off if the team won a Super Bowl is horrendous logic.
If you don't win the SB ever year you have failed. It's not a participation trophy League my friend.

You're right, but you can't blame the fanbase bc we have been conditioned to almost think of anything after the 1st round as throwaway over the past 20ish years for the most part... b/c they have been...
2015 should be the answer to that issue though... Our MVP QB that year took this team to the Super Bowl with Ted Ginn, Philly Brown, Jerrico Cotchery, and rookie Devin Funchess...
Nothing is more important than an elite QB
That was a great year indeed. But Cam did not do it all by himself. It took the team five years to build that roster without giving up 3 years worth of firsts and seconds plus 3 of the top defensive starters before the year started. This is nothing like that by any starch of the imagination.

Of all the freaking money this team has wasted on the likes of Matt Kalil, Eli Apple, Stephen Weatherly, etc., to penny pinch on guys like Obada and Kerr seems to be penny-wise and pound foolish...
From the outside looking in, $2.1M seems like an incredibly reasonable rate for Obada, a guy who had consistent effort and production last year.
Incoming signing with WFT or the Bills...
There's a new accountant in town. This is not your old Panthers buckle up.

That is unfair. It is hard to win a Super Bowl. The most you can hope for is to consistently make the playoffs, which the Rams have. After that unless you are Tom Brady, it is just difficult to win a Super Bowl.
Deshaun Watson is 25 years. Unless we treated him as poorly as the Texans, that would mean we probably have at least 10 years to build around him. If we can't do that then what difference is it if we don't get him? A good FO would know how to work with an elite QB who, after the TV deal kicks in and other QBs sign huge deals, will be relatively cheap.
Keep telling yourself that. The goal is the bowl...rinse and repeat.

They could be counting on the climate in the wake of #metoo and such.
And of course, who hears the case is a huge deal.
And the recent shootings in GA.

They also had a bunch of money to splurge in one of their free agencies under McVay and the most draft capital that went into any one player was two firsts and not three firsts + a bunch of other stuff for one Player but hey yeah I like making comparisons without having all the facts.
Ask him how many SB's have the Rams won in the last decade using that strategy.

What if that player IS the future, and is one of the premier future players of the entire league?

LOLLL some have no clue. Put Watson on last years team and we're in the playoffs.
See, that's where your theory goes off the rails. He won't be on last year's team. He will be on whatever is left of it. Which won't be no where as talented or lucky as last year's.

We have more reason to think he is smart than we do that he is stupid... what proof do we have that he has done something stupid enough to question his intelligence?
If this deal goes through at the rumoured asking price I would say that's pretty good evidence that someone in the room who authorized it is dumb as a rock.

You’re discrediting what a elite QB does for a team he becomes the future all you have to do is add a few more pieces and we become nfc champ game contenders.
And what would you add those pieces with? You gave up all your draft picks and half or more of your top defensive players you've already drafted. No sir, this is a dumb decision that will haunt this team for years. Bank it.

This dude has his finger on the pulse of the Texans and tons of inside sources. He would not contradict himself so fiercely unless he had to.
Please don't let us do something stupid like trading away our future for one player. Is that too much too ask?

If that's your point then it's all a matter of perspective. They are what they are and we'll see how we use them, if even as starters (which isn't a given). If they suck, they suck but it ain't no thing but a chicken wing.
I see us backfilling to leave the draft open to as many prospects as possible. Backfill via FA, build through the draft, maybe get 1-2 decent FA signings every year.
These guys have no patience for that. It's give it to me now or I'm going to throw a fit.
