And athleticism has unfortunately been overhyped and things like accuracy and speed  of processing information has been undervalued.  When if you don't have the last 2, the amount of athleticism is only great if you want to convert to a wide receiver or tight end.

I think most of these guys on here knocking the possibility of drafting Jones is because they are looking for the next Newton.  I've got news for those folks, Cam was/is a one off.  You will not find someone with his ability that easily if ever.

It's just fans projecting their hopes on any QB that might be remotely as talented as he WAS.  It's a pipedream.

    Speaking of Shaq's...

...it wasn't through free-agency but Texans traded for Shaq Lawson who played at Clemson with Deshaun Watson.

Lawson promptly reached out to Watson through social media and posted a photo in instagram which was captioned with:

    "Getting the band back together."

    Gonna get interesting!

Texans are going to go all out to keep Watson.

I remember Elflein being pretty good in the past. Don't know as much about Erving.

As mentioned elsewhere, I'm not "freaked out" by either signing, but I am a little concerned about us pursuing recently injured players again.

Yeah the injuries worry me.  But we should be use to that on this team.  Maybe our karma has changed this time around.

The Patriots seem to be going a whole hog.

Being reported now that they're pursuing Matthew Judon.

I'm sure Craft doesn't want to watch another season like last year's.  I look for them to draft a QB this draft, maybe even trade up in the first.  Which would shock the living sh*t out of me.

I'm that dude that waits for things to go on sale and not jump on them as soon as they hit the shelf.  Call it the cheapskate in me.  No doubt we need OL depth and with our history of OL injuries we surely need positional flexibility.  However, these guys (or guys like them) would be available days from now and probably at a discounted rate from what we intend to give them.

Maybe, maybe not.  The demand is high but supplies are limited.

I've heard a couple of people suggest that, and I just can't get on board.

It would be a very Panther thing to choose a draft where the offensive line class is expected to be good and deep to be the one where we trade away all our picks.

I just cannot conceive a scenario where giving up what it will take to get one player works out in our favor.

    I hope it's a smoke screen...or a bad dream.

Feels like this and the Elfin move are to basically build versatility into our offensive line. Elfin, while mediocre, can fill in at either guard spot or center. Erving can fill in any spot on the line.

They may not be pro bowlers but it beats rolling with ufa every year at guard and hoping Paradis plays well.

It's only the beginning of rebuilding the line.  There will be draft picks and udfa thrown in the mix as well.  Patience Padawan.

First round pick of the Browns in 2015. His previously spent time with the Chiefs and most recently the Cowboys.

He's played both tackle spots. Makes me wonder if maybe we're finally going to try Moton on the left and use Erving on the right.

I would guess with the salary he's getting he will be a rotational piece.  Unless he can beat out the other tackles for a starting spot.  Granted his competition makes that a probability.

This one might take a while.

Mind you, there could be surprises, or we could bring back one of our own.

I expect that they will sign their own before they sign anyone from another team at first.  But the natives are restless and patience is thin.  God help this place if they don't draft one of the supposed top 3 after Trevor.

LoL. Okay. Could say the same for you. Since you seem to know all about how these QBs will turn out. Pot calling the kettle black.

I never predicted how any of these guys will turn out.  Show one post of mine claiming otherwise.  The only thing if said about these prospects is that I would not trade up for any of them.  I don't care which one if any they pick at 8.  I just hope whatever they do it works out and doesn't end up another failed attempt at building a consistent winner.  I'm sick of mediocrity myself.
