These sound like someone other than Matt Rhule's idea.
For O'Connell, this would be a lateral move since he's already an OC. He'd have to be out of contract or have permission. Either way going from the Rams to the Panthers with no advancement sounds weird.
Could they be being told it might turn into a head coaching job? Not by Rhule but yeah. That'd leave you with a staff full of Rhule loyalists though (not so sure that works).
That would be inticing except for one thing, the assistant coaches would most likely leave with Rhule which would put the interm coach in a bind. Their contract would have to make it difficult to just walk out with Rhule.
It's a damn mess and Tepper created all of this.
BRING IN KEVIN COLBERT DAMMIT!!!

What Rock star OC is going to work in Carolina with no OL and QB? Stay tuned.
Maybe to be Rhule's replacement about 4 games into the season?
I got nothing.

Thanks JJ for being rock solid throughout your career. Respectfully speaking we hope you won't be missed on GameDay. I sure hope the rookie was soaking up everything you taught him all season.
But you will be remembered as one of the best longsnappers to ever snap a ball.
Best wishes and enjoy your retirement.

I hate to be this way but good. He makes the game just as unbearable to watch as the team.

No. But he's hitched his wagon to a bottom 5 coach.

I have considered that myself. Limit the future damage Rhule could do to this team by taking away his ability to trade away future picks. Its the best case scenario really. But I fear it's a pipe dream.

Does it really matter? Who's offense will they run? Might as well keep Nixon.

I’ll watch till the wheels fall off , like against Philly and NYgiants
I’ve learned so much from this group
just an example. Change lightbulb to fire matt Rhule . This is meant as humor, and not directed at Mr Scott or any other huddler.
Q: How many group members does it take to change light bulb ?
1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.
6 to argue over whether it's 'lightbulb' or 'light bulb'.
Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid.
22 to tell THOSE 6 to stop being jerks.
5 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is 'lamp'.
15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that 'light bulb' is perfectly correct.
49 to post memes and gifs (several are of Michael Jackson eating popcorn with the words added, “I’m just here for the comments.”)
19 to post that this page is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a light bulb page.
11 to defend the posting to this page saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant here.
24 to discuss the merits of LED/swirly fluorescent light bulbs
44 to claim LED and fluorescent bulbs will kill you.
12 to post F.
8 to ask what F means.
7 to post 'Following' but there's 3 dots at the top right that means you don't have to.
15 to say "can't share"
2 to reply "can't share from a closed group"
36 People to post pics of their own light bulbs.
15 People to post "I can't see S$%^!" and use their own light bulbs.
6 to report the post or PM an admin because someone said "f÷×$"
4 to say "Didn't we go through this already a short time ago?".
13 to say "Do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs".
5 admins to ban the light bulb posters who took it all too seriously.
1 late arrival to comment on the original post 6 months later and start it all over again.
20 to give up on fb and take their dogs for a walk instead.*****
And then somebody announces they are leaving the group over the light bulb post, and someone replies back that this isn't an airport so you don't need to announce your departure. And, I'm over here sipping on my whiskey... enjoying the posts.

I hope not. That would do me in as a fan. That would tell me that this bunch has no clue how to run a franchise and as a fan I am fooked. Giving up that much capital for one player with as many issues as this team has? No, I'm not sticking around for that.
Guess I will go back to being a Steelers fan now that Rapestburger is leaving.

I stopped going to the games years ago. I didn't watch the last 2 games as I knew the outcome. The last game will be no different.
I will watch them occasionally just see how bad they really are but I will not be emotionally invested in them anymore.

There definitely are things I hope get done in this hiring cycle, but my big fear is that we're totally going to screw it up.
Unfortunately, Panthers history makes that a pretty reasonable fear.
My biggest concern is that there's not someone between Rhule and Tepper that know how to build a franchise.
Fitterer is a pawn that may or may not be good at his job. Rhule is in charge of everything we he shouldn't be.
Who knows what Tepper is thinking about this mess. But whatever it is he shouldn't be in charge of the football leadership decisions.
First and foremost they need someone in there that knows how to run a successful pro football organization. Until that happens expect more of the same.

Snow will go when Rhule goes. He could retire to save Rhule's ass but I doubt Rhule parts ways with Snow willingly.

Fans? Wasn't aware he had any yet. But if the big guy can go throw his big ass out there.
I'm tired over watching this

I'd be tempted to trade CMC depending on the offer. But DJ Moore is off the table. Despite his down year he still hit 1000 yards and is legitimately on track to be one of the all time Panther WR's. He's home grown talent and should be a Panther for life in an ideal world. He's the one WR we can count on.
You can thank Robby Anderson for making it difficult to keep DJ. Robby's replacement was drafted but they decided to give him an extension anyway. Always signing the wrong player is the Panthers way.

I'd like to think an optimal OL rebuild is:
LT: Neal/Ekwonu
LG: Brady C
Center: FA (I.E. Tedd Karras)--or mid-rounder
RG: Literally anyone else
RT: Moton
Combine that with maybe another late rounder as depth, along with whatever happens with Deonte, and it's a start for a QB not getting murdered like we've seen this year.
Then, we turn to the QB after another sh*t year with Rhule+Darnold and whoever the hell else they grab. Heck, maybe a Mariota or Jimmy G can lead us to Bryce Young. I just have an inclination they're done with the mediocre QB FA pickup. They'll keep Darnold and add a rookie.
Count me in on the Bryce Young sweepstakes.

Panthers need OL help, like in the worst way. Brown plays OL and could be a solution. Most are just hoping waaay too much, but thats all we can do right now..
