So you would rather take a chance of being by stuck with Treadwater then assuring a top QB in TD draft. I hope we trade up if it seems like we cannot get Lance or Watson. It doesn’t reek of desperation if they get the QB they want.
2022 QB crop looks terrible. We need a QB this draft. No excuses.

You mean if they get the qb you want.  Maybe the one they want is not in the first round.  Ever thought of that?

  2. I liked Frasier. It was hilarious.  So was Cheer's.  But that was in Boston.  I am not certain Steve has ever lived in Boston.  Dave would know but Dave's not here.

I agree start him day one, but would Rhule do that is the question. If we start Trey and bench Teddy that would suck just to see all that money on the bench. I really think we have to trade or cut him, this isn’t going to work him staying here. What u think?

I'm not sure I want Teddy teaching him how to football.  Mentor him on how to be a professional maybe.  But how to QB? No way.

That is not how it’s done when you give a HC 70M for 7 years and the lame duck GM 1M. It’s why they tried to hire Andrew Berry two weeks after Rhule. But he wouldn’t interview because Rhule had total control. And if Rhule was seriously considering anything Hurney ever said, that’s just as troubling with Marty’s resume.

Why is it that not one reporter associated with the Panthers has ever said Hurney was the driving force behind Teddy’s signing. Just one “fan” 2 hours after Hurney was fired. Showing him as the scapegoat I knew he would be. Why didn’t Getzenberg mention his involvement. Mentioned Evan Cooper and conversations while Rhule was at Baylor. Mentioned Brady who coached him before. Mentioned Rhule’s interest before taking the job. All it said about Marty was he was scouting Herbert.

I would love to know the full "true" story of Hurney 2.0's stint.   I would imagine it would shock both sides of the debate.  Hurney always struck me as a yes man bullsh*t artist more than anything.

I don't think it would take three first rounders. If you're going to do that, you might as well go all-in on Watson.

I think that perhaps I have more faith in Rhule (now Fit, via proxy) than some. I don't think that we're going to leave our QB high and dry. Rhule proved to me in one season that he can coach young guys up to be legitimately competitive. If Fit is as advertised, between him and Rhule, they should be able to field a talented team, even if it's using resources outside of drafting first round talent.

What if they decide that one of those QB's that everyone is salivating over in the first isn't worth the capital?  What happens to this joint if they pick one in the second or third for instance?  I imagine that the faith in Fitz and Rhule will immediately be lost by the Huddle and whom think it is a much better evaluator of talent than the professionals.

Yep, I suspect the next qb pro day will have the same volume of threads starting about said player.  I just hope our staff really digs in and does their due diligence.

I never put any stock in underwear olympics.  Game tape is the only thing you can truly measure and that can be misleading also.  It takes more than physical ability to be successful in the NFL.  It's what's between the ears and in their heart that gives them a fighting chance.

No one is going to dispute the guy has incredible physical tools. The key questions are: can he develop into a consistent thrower? Can he read complex NFL defenses and process options? He's never had to do either, but he'll have to do both if he's to be successful in the NFL.

...and it's easy to make those throws with no defense in your face while wearing shorts.

I was just responding to stirs “diversion/smoke and mirrors” post. I think they’re genuinely interested in him.

I think they are interested in a QB upgrade for sure.  Which of these guys that is will depend greatly how they rank them and if their board falls like they planned.  Other than that I would not read anything into the visits this time of year.

This could be looked at both ways though. If it’s smoke and mirrors and Brady isn’t there then wouldn’t teams know this was a diversion by Brady not being there?

I think we’re genuinely interested but I’m not sure we pull the trigger at 8 for him. I think we should if other options are not available but he is probably the biggest risk in the draft at QB. I love his traits and character though. Huge fan.

Rhule is there with Fiterererrr to see where Fit would rank him and where he will be on their board.  They have no shot at the top 2 so you have to rank the rest.  It's not that complicated.

imo either get our franchise QB this year, or just play teddy.

i don't want to be half way good and be out of range yo get a guy next year.

What do you think Teddy gives you? We would be in the exact same situation next year, 5 or 6 wins and still looking from the outside in.  No thanks, I'll take my chances on greatly improving or bottoming out and have my choice of the QB's in the next draft thank you very much.

All I'm saying is that literally every time Teddy had the chance to come through to deliver a tie or W he came up short. Ever. Single. Time.

He forgets to mention that although the D did struggle to hold the lead the offense always had the ball with more than enough time to seal a victory.  As usual Teddy went limp and the results are what you saw.
