Biggest needs that can be satisfied in the draft are WR LB and RB. Young talent at those positions are deep this year and way cheaper than signing in FA. If a QB falls in our lap Reich and Fitt like so be it. If not get BPA while trying to fill needs simultaneously. I for one wouldn’t mind another bad season if it meant a shot at Caleb Williams next year or a surprise trade for Burns during this draft to get sexier this year and next. If we did trade him Luke Van Ness or Andre Carter ll would be awesome to get to supplant if this scenario played out.

Hell no to USC qb's. No WR, LB or RB in the top 10 either.

No more cast-off!!! Let's create our own for a change. I am not down for trying to go with these cast-off qbs just to delay the inevitable. Stop the damn madness already.

Sorry for the double post. I get triggered at the thought of still doing the same dumb sh!t over and over.

There's also the possibility of them looking at Daniel Jones who will test free agency.

6'5" 230lbs, runs like a gazelle with power, throws with accuracy and good armstrength. 67% regular season completion percentage 62% postseason.

Charlotte native, Panther fan. Who else is coming home?

I don't. But they should be posted in a separate thread Frank's Family.

This should be a nuts and bolts thread on the plan moving forward.

I don't need to see his old Panthers photos I was there in 95. I don't need to see screen shots of his grandkids and two pages of people talking about putting her on tren and signing her in 20 years.

The only person that has a problem with it is you. Maybe you should look inward to determine why it is an issue with you. The rest of either read it or ignore it.

See what Reich can do with Matt Corral. I'm almost certain that's one of the main players he would like to see on campus face to face to see if he can just roll with Young Lion and focus on defense or if necessary draft a QB.

I don't think drafting a QB will be necessary after Reich works out Matt Corral. He'll be impressed.

He really doesn't have much choice but to see what the kid has. It's not like we have a stable of studs to choose from. There be a new face or two add in the mix I hope.  I cannot see them not taking another qb in this draft so the worry worts can step back from the ledge.

Honestly, he probably doesn't need to call plays. Once Indy began failing this past season, they scaoegoated OC Marcus Brady when Reich was actually the play caller.

I really don't know what he will end up doing to be honest.  I'm just trying to figure out what they are doing just by going off what is actually said. This is misinformation season you know.

Do you remember where you saw that?

I can't recall seeing anything definitive. Honestly, we've had little to no substantive discussion to this point.

(not that they're necessarily should be this early)

He said it in the first interview with the lady Balboni or whatever her name was. But he didn't go into much detail or give specifics. I would have to go back and listen again.

    Pretty sure he hasn't said.

He's "open" to not calling them but I'm not certain that decision has been made yet.

He did call plays for the Colts.

He mentioned that he wasn't going to micromanage the offense and let his OC take care of that. He said he wasn't planning on calling the plays. Sounds like he doesn't want to anyway.

Interesting.  Did he not do it in Indy?

I'm not sure to be honest.  I stopped following him after he signed with the Colts.  It appears he did at times so who knows? He did say that is one of the things he would change is focusing more on other aspects of the team and not just the offense.

    Bill Polian talks about Reich...

    From the article:

Bill Polian, the Pro Football Hall of Fame general manager, has hired Frank Reich twice at critical points during both men’s careers.

The two have stayed in regular touch for decades. And Polian thinks it is important that Panthers fans understand that there’s a big misconception about Reich only being hired as Carolina’s next head coach because he is a former NFL quarterback who can coach that one position well.

Said Polian in a phone interview: “Narratives can kind of take hold, and the narrative now about Frank is: ‘Well, he’s a quarterback whisperer and the Panthers are going to draft one and then he’ll develop him.’ But he’s much more than that. That’s part of his skill set, sure, but he’s an accomplished head coach. He’s innovative. He’s adaptive. Players love playing for him and coaches love coaching for him. Panther fans should be extremely happy.”

    ...

As for how quickly Reich can get the Panthers into the postseason, Polian said it depended mostly on the offense.

The Panthers’ defense, Polian said, is already close to playoff-quality, and he called defensive end Brian Burns a “game-wrecker.” But the Carolina offense needs several big pieces, he said.

“You’ve got to solve quarterback, No. 1,” Polian said. “I think they probably need a lot more production from the tight end position…. Probably need more production from the second wide receiver (behind DJ Moore). ... And you need a dynamic running back. That guy isn’t here. (Former Buffalo star) Thurman Thomas isn’t here. Christian McCaffrey isn’t here. … So without those components — the most important of which is the quarterback — the offense is not going to be a playoff-quality offense.”

But Polian is very bullish on Reich and concluded that he will fix the team, and do so with class.

“Carolina is getting somebody,” Polian said, “that every Panther fan and every Charlottean can be proud of.”

Brian Burns a game wrecker? Nah dude, that dog don't hunt.

Wow, I wish I could post a screenshot of what I just seen.

Wilks OC list including Reich, and he also wanted 1aQB CJ Stroud, 1b Bryce Young, wanted to trade up for either one of them.

Transcripts from his second interview are being made for court.

So they just decided to hire the guy that was going to run the offense instead. This does nothing to help his cade.

We'd be really good and immediate owners of the NFCS if we picked up Derek Carr in FA.

I'd rather draft Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, or even Anthony Richardson in the first, but if we don't then get Carr.

I don't want any vet starters at all. A journeyman backup sure. I don't care if it's a second round qb and Corral competing to start. Just start drafting rookies and throw them out there. Please stop wasting money on pricey declining vets. I can't take that anymore. For the love of the Panthers please stop the insanity.
