Well, if we are looking at rebuilding Part Deux, I guess we can count on another top 10 draft pick again. Oh well........I did originally say I thought it would be 4-6 years before we would be contenders again. Looks like that could end up being right.

Guess we will see what "the plan" is for the rest of the offseason.

It was always a 3 year at best build no matter what everyone said.  We are kinda in year 2 but we've had some setbacks.  So basically they are no closer to solving most of their problems, especially the QB.  It is hard for me to believe they every saw Teddy as more than a bridge until they find whatever it is they are looking for in the position.

    Rebuilding Part Two.

I guess they just love being caught in that.

I think it's more of taking a mulligan on whatever they tried last year.  It's probably more like a full reboot like they should have done last year.

Odd move unless they are close to a contract with somone else.

It is odd.  I have to stock up on popcorn cause it looks like I'm going to need it.  I gave up the booze for health reasons.

Why would you let him go?

Maybe he had a better offer that the team just didn't want to match?  It's the only thing I can think of.  We will have a better idea if he signs somewhere else and by what he gets.

The Elflein deal isn't bad money-wise, but the Erving contract is the one that's a little too pricey for me, even ranked 77th.

There's 160 starting O-linemen in the League.  So yeah, 77th seems high and there's no guarantee he'll even start,so......

I'm pretty sure if he doesn't start he won't earn all those incentives that make the contract seem so large.  If he rides the pine he won't earn all of it.  If he does start it's either a good thing or a bad thing.  Which it will be is yet to be determined.

Shocking the guy that can't go 5 minutes without talking poo about a Hurney move, some from a decade ago, is acting like he has some heady insight.

Reality: Jon Snow and a lot of people's opinion on this forum is based only off of who they 'like' and appeals to authority. They don't have opinions because that requires actual thinking.

Who the hell are you?  Obviously you are new here.

Not really, he's great depth/rotational guy.  A lot of teams desperate for that will over pay for that if they a good one.  We probably couldn't afford to at his market rate.  I bet the pick up another similar player in the draft now that they lost him.

Why would I care. Y’all can win or lose and it won’t matter to me. I’m here for the train wreck. It’s fun to watch total incompetence so readily accepted by a fan base.

Well the train hasn't derailed yet.  I agree that on the surface these signings are strange if you are expecting them to be anything other than depth.  But both can be cut after one season with not much cap hit.  It's a minor annoyance for now but I'm not ready to get my pitchfork out.

So I, and everyone who thinks anything the team does is wrong, should never say it? Did you complaining for years about Hurney help get him fired?  Didn’t stop you from complaining about the incompetence.

I didn't say you couldn't say anything. I'm just advising you not to let it get to you for your health.  I lived through the Hurney years simply because I stopped letting it get to me.  There's not a damn thing any of us can do about who they sign , cut, trade for or draft.

My theory is that Rhule's influence is heavy on these moves.  Maybe they sign them bc they feel they have more physical talent than the guys we currently have, and if he can get them in here and coach them up, then it will bring out the best in them.  That's the only optimistic take I have, because my usual cynical self is wondering why tf we just signed two scrubs on the first day of FA and spent more on them than had we just re-signed the scrubs we already had.

    Better scrubs?  I got nothing.
