I disagree. Brown and Chinn no longer rookies. Burns coming into his own.
The defense should be good enough to win with a couple more pieces added this offseason.
Two players does not a defense make. They are rebuilding whether they want to admit it or not.

He still has quite a zip and has always been able to launch rockets. Crazy to think he's only a year older than Cam. Been steady at ~65% with throwing a lot of bombs to Golladay and Jones.
It is pretty damn interesting to consider how he would do with a guy like CMC on his team. He's never had that before.
We could do a lot worse. I would at least talk to Stafford's agent to see if there's mutual interest. If there's is I would keep an eye on the situation.

No. It's arguably a bit higher than some would want to give but as a starting point for a negotiation it's not laughable.
You have your way of negotiating I have mine.

I understand, and I'm not arguing we should give the pick to get him. I am just saying, reports are we are going to give a serious push to get him. Don't be surprised if that offer includes our first.
Maybe something like.
Pick 8, Bridgewater, future 3.
Stafford, 2021 4th.
I'm not going to lose sleep over it either way. I'm just ready for someone other than Marty harney making the call.

No. Historically, QBs of Stafford reputation don't become available often. As a looks, Sam frieken Bradford braught in a first round pick 3 straight years from 3 different teams. Kyle Allen got a 5th round pick for being aweful. I think people are vastly underrating Stafford's standing in the league and undervaluing him simply because it hurts to let go of a first round pick.
Just because other teams are dumb doesn't mean we should join them in their stupidity. No way I would give up #8 this year for him. Next year's we can talk.

That's fair, but you can't come to the table seriously with laughable offers. Especially when it comes to QBs.
You don't consider Detroit's first demand laughable?

No thanks. Nothing against Stafford, I'm but ready to start fresh.
I'm in the same boat. Just stay at 8 and take bpa. We need everything anyway so we can't go wrong unless it a RB. Wouldn't that be a hoot.

yeah, you saw how the refs just "let em play" in regards to the Tampa D mugging the Packers yesterday? There was more PI going on in that game than probably any I watched all season. Think they called it once. And that was the Packers.
They will let them jump off the ropes with a steel chair if that is what it takes to get a handle on Kelce, Hill, etc.
Tom is getting this one. The league will make sure of it. I wish I could see the look on old Bill's face when they hand Tom the trophy. It would be glorious.
Not that I give two sh*ts for either of them.

Tom Brady made a deal with the devil a long time ago. Time to just accept it. I hate him more than anyone. But he is going to win the Super Bowl.
Patrick is not old enough to get Tom's last SB said in my best Ed Hochuli voice. Patrick can have all he wants after old Tommy boy sets a record that most likely will never be broken.
Tinfoil hat off.

Well it was a nice for the Bills this season. I'm proud of them that's for sure. The will be a force in the AFC for a while.

I don't disagree.

If Bienemy passes up this job, I guarantee you that he'll get an opportunity at another HC gig!
If you think about it for a minute (incompetent ownership aside) if you were going to be a first time head coach and Watson does jet then this may not be as bad a situation as it looks. You would definitely be rebuilding with a butt load of picks to build with. You would certainly be drafting first overall next year with another first in your pocket. It all depends on Watson though.

I actually agree that he should not be so involved. However, the front office made him a promise, and then broke that promise. You don't make promises then back out, especially to your star player, creates trust issues. If you don't want him involved, don't make the promise. They messed up long ago making the promise.
I'm sorry but this is not a cheating on your girlfriend promise broken here, which it's sounding more and more like to be honest. He sounds kind of naive to even think he would be involved with that bunch.

That would be a safe bet.

we warned tepper this would happen with the Bridgewater signing but like a small child *just has* to verify first hand that the stove is, indeed, hot, he just had to see it play out
Who warned him? It certainly wasn't Hurney, the greatest evaluator of talent in the galaxy and GM at the time.

Well, I mean other than the quality of his play, there's nothing ELSE that suggests he's a far better QB!
His stat is nitpicking to try to prove his over exaggerated premise.

It becomes about the price we would be willing to pay to get him. It would probably be more than we should give up.
You know, I wish this was 2022 or 2023 when this whole episode happened but it isn't. So, even if he did want to come here it is going to be really challenging for us to make a deal that doesn't rob us of some of our new core players.
I have thought and thought about it and it really probably makes the most sense for us to not be involved in a Watson deal.
Everyone clamoring for Watson hasn't factored in the cost or lack therof in signing all of our core young guy's when their contract comes up.

It’s just a bandaid man. If we’re going to build a sustained winner here we have to stop trying to take short cuts.
If there was a way to unload Teddy, get Stafford AND still draft a QB at 8, then I’d be on board. This is where I currently am. I do not want to trade up either because we need the picks to continue to build.

Also, all you Clemson fans need to take a breather on selling the farm for DeShaun. I love him too but please chill.

If the price is too high for Watson, it may still be too high for Stafford. I wouldn't trade my 8 for Stafford! I'd go young! Of course it's all predicated upon our beliefs and desire about the 2021 crop of QBs. I should say "their" beliefs. I'm rolling with them, so whatever they decide will be good with me.
One thing to factor in to the equation in your qb hunt is where you will be drafting next year. I'm not one to predict an undefeated season but I do think our record will be much better than this past one just on the experience gained this season alone. So I hope our scouts are doing their homework.
If the Panthers land Stafford, it is win now, not rebuild

I agree on all that fat that needs trimmed but don't lose sight of that fact that those guys will have to be replaced. So factor that into the equation.
