Corbett got beat like a drum regularly as a guard before he got injured. So much so they went out a got the best FA guard available to replace him. So now, instead of putting him on the bench or on the street they are converting him to starting center. An underperforming guard coming off 2 season ending knee injuries will now be the starting center. How the hell does that sound like a wise decision?

I think we're more likely to find a backup C option later in the draft than we would get potential impact rotational (if not starters) at other positions with this first pick in the 4th.
Take a CB, TE, Edge/LB, and they have a better chance at contributing this year than if we take a Center, who we can take later and/or look to pick up a training camp cut as a backup.
Oh I agree, they missed out on starting centers in the draft. Let's hope plan A miraculously works.

I really hope we get a QB at some point tmrw even if it's udfa. Zero reason not to in udfa since we need at least 1 qb camp body and the current vet FA's are fuging washed
They will. They have to have a camp arm.

The Georgia center is ripe for the picking if we want him
I would feel a lot more comfortable if they had a better plan B in place at the position myself. I'm just as confident in Colberts ability and availability for an entire season at the position as the team.

I will say I'm glad they took the 21 year old instead of the injury prone 24 year old if both LB's were kinda in the same tier
It appears to me that Wallace may not be quite as good as Wilson but he had well known coaches that know LB talent when they see it. Wilson may go on to have a HOF career and everyone but the Steelers will regret it. But that can happen with any pick. Wallace is no slouch and could do the same himself. I think we will survive either way.

So we are going heavy on O-line?
If they take a center it would help one would think.

It sounds like the Steelers among others had a lot of interest in him.

Wonder if Bill Cowher had any input in that pick?
Not sure. He's a great LB but I think most teams felt the risk drafting him high was more than they were willing to pay. For the Steelers it was nothing unknown to them as they've had players with the same problem before. It worked out for them so they took a chance. I can't fault a team either way. It's all a gamble anyway.

His Texas tape looks like Miles Sanders Eagles tape. Eh. Sanders btw we owe $8M this year and no one is gonna trade for that dude
Brooks is what they thought they were getting in Sanders. Sanders will be gone as soon as it's financially feasible.

I believe according to reports Wilson played last two years like this.
They say he hasn't missed a game either. I guess taking him early is just too much of a gamble for most teams. I'm sure some team will take a chance on him at some point. Maybe the Panthers on day 3.

Just heard the Wilson only has 1 ACL. Teams are too concerned.

Are you guys actually questioning Dan Morgan's knowledge on LB's? I think I will take his word over any of you goobers.

I've got no issues with this move. It took care of a need and he can start right away in a rotation. I hope we get Frasier at least.

I understood two words in that entire press conference. If you speed it up it sounds like a normal conversation. I'm glad he's not as slow as he talks. I love it.

Want no part of this trade. Not putting the kind of money he wants into a single receiver with the current state of this team. Just wait. Let someone else have him.

There's not a position on our roster that can't be upgraded in the draft. If the right guy at the time of the pick is a running back, then take him.
We are literally a "the cupboard is bare" team right now. There's one sacred cow on the team that can't be replaced and he just got an extension this off-season to play DT for us. But there's still a spot to either side of him that can and should be replaced.
Running back under appreciated in the league, well that's a load of bull. Undervalued does not mean under-utilized. If that RB can catch and can find the hole in the line and make something for us, it'd do so much for our offense. And if he can pick up the blitz and block like a demon? Heck, that'd be great.
We had a guy like that. Dude played in the Super Bowl this year while our team took vacation and watched the game on TV.

Who are the day 3 prospects you want to see us target?
in Carolina Panthers

I'm not complaining about who they chose to draft and at what position....yet. What does confuse me is what positions they decided to focus on. I was never a fan of locking in on specific players in the draft. That's what FA and the waiver wire are for. The draft should be, to me at least, letting the best available come to you. Selecting the best regardless of position, within reason that is. But when teams fall in love with a specific player they panic and start moving around in the draft to make sure they get "their guy". Which usually doesn't work out. I always get nervous when I hear "our guy" because it means they already have blinders on beforeit even starts.
