A former Canes goalie (Ned) is having a former Canes goalie (Raanta) like night.
-
Slavo!
-
Does the Jack Attack get a hattie?
-
More than a few tonight.
-
Gave up 10 SOG to the Pens. Yikes! Only 4 SOG for the Canes. Yikes! Roslovic has 8 already. Only had 9 all of last season.
-
Nobody had Martinook. As well as he's played, good for him!
-
Think I'll go with the Ghost tonite.

Both of the Necas goals before the Philly game were assisted by Robinson, and it was only a matter of time before Necas assisted on a Robinson goal. That's why I picked Robbie for the 1st goal... but, it was the 2nd. Anyway, the other thing to keep an eye on is the huge improvement in Necas's defensive play. Already leaps & bounds better than last year.

This might be the Canes worst game of the season so far. This has been tough since the opening drop.
-
I've said it a hundred times, Freddie and #52 are each going to give up a softie every game. That being said, this wasn't a softie. Kochetkov isn't making that save on Tippett with that shot.
-
Nobody had Blake in the 1st period against Philly.
-
Blake!

Carolina is owed 2 make-up calls now. Maybe 3 since they didn't call the hold on Aho.
-
Yes. Boston, Caps and tonight. Svech's tonight wasn't even close to being a penalty. If anything it's an embellishment call on Konecny.
-
Anyone watching the game tonight?
-
Another 5 on 3 putting Carolina down 1-0. 3 games in a row now and all 3 starting with bad calls by the fugging refs.
-
Refs just don't like #37. Konecny went down pretty easily. Bad call. Even Tripp said it was a reputation call and not a trip.
-
I'm going with Robinson tonight.

PF69 gets on the board!

Kochetkov flat stoned 3-4 breakaway tonite and, aside from the 1 Ovechkin cherry-pick, was pretty fugging good tonite. That said, if any of you watch the replay of this game, pay attention to Ovechkin on the PP. He does nothing but stand at the bench outside the blue line and then walks in once the puck is onside. It's 4-on-4 hockey and he just stands in his spot. No wonder their PP is one of the worst in the league. Last 3 minutes of that game was nail-biting. Nice being back in the arena. The new pre-game "rise up" or whatever, is weak. Cause chaos was 100x better. The new one isn't even loud... Great game- not an easy win.

Objectively, his bar is set about the height of a dime above the turf.

Might want to hold off on that tickertape parade thru downtown Charlotte.
-
Jarvis for me.

Carolina Hurricanes have only seen Lindgren 4 times in his 10 year NHL career, and the Canes are 1-3 against him. Canes lifetime record against Washington is 70-90-14.

Caps put up 5 in the 1st period on Columbus less than 24 hours ago. Caps are a much improved team over last year, but their top lines are starting to show their age. A little surprised Washington played their #1 goalie last night, so we'll see Lingren in net.
