GSH is so terribly underrated. He was poetic rap before there was such a thing. He was soulful hip-hop before there was such a thing. Liv Warfield. Was part of Prince's New Power Generation. Her latest vinyl "The Edge" definitely has that Prince vibe, but her lyrics throughout the album are phenomenal.

First Ozzy/Black Sabbath show I saw was the 1974 California Jam. Sabbath's 2nd time in the US. Second time was 1999 with the original lineup, at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC. Third time was last year's Rock Hall Induction. 25 years between each time I saw him. It puts mortality in perspective watching people pass who I grew up with.

Yeah, was Coverdale. There is some YouTube content for the day, but the quality isn't good. Blackmore got pissed at the TV camera and the pyro went off too close for comfort. He jammed his guitar into the camera lens... it was wild. The ELP closing act was unbelievable. Keith Emerson on an elevated, rotating, white grand piano... that's definitely a watch on YT. The Eagles lineup was the original with Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner, Frey and Henley. Jackson Browne played piano for that show. I prefer the David Gillan and Roger Glover DP... not really this lineup

GM Bill Guerin's top to-do list item at the moment is to lock up Kirill Kaprizov. The superstar winger, who's been eligible for an extension since July 1, is due for Leon Draisaitl-type money (around $14 million average annual value) starting in 2026-27. Guerin has said there's no rush to sign, trade, or match an offer sheet for Rossi. If he stays, a short-term extension makes sense, since it gives both player and team flexibility. The Hurricanes desperately need to upgrade at 2C (Jesperi Kotkaniemi isn't going to cut it) and have plenty of cap space. Mammoth bench boss Andre Tourigny coached Rossi in junior, and they don't have as much wiggle room, but trading top-six winger Nick Schmaltz (plus a pick) could make the math work. Guerin wants to make a so-called "hockey trade" here.

ECU football is in the All-American Conference (AAC). About 45 minutes from me. I go every other year when Navy comes to Greenville and kicks their ass. But, yes, I have several friends who are huge ECU boosters and have tailgate spots right outside the gate and, it is an event. ECU football is going to die a slow, painful death thanks to the transfer portal and NIL, and trying to recruit and compete with UNC, Duke, and NC State.

My interpretation of his comments was somewhat different. And I took issue with his contract the day he signed. But it's all history now and doesn't matter in the big picture.

I'm not going to go so far as to say his time in Raleigh was garbage because he had some big moments, and he never backed down from anyone. Matter of fact, he came to the defense of more than a few Canes players when no one else did. Do I think his contract was too big- yes. Do I think his defense got worse over the years- yes. Do I think he should have stayed- no. But I cannot write the guy off as a complete waste and bad-mouth him out the door. He admits to the mistakes he made and I think the small language barrier takes some of his words out of context. We're better than that.

Jarvy at 2C is literally the best option on the roster for that position. Another season coming where the 2nd biggest need on the team has not been addressed. Just eat 60% of KK's salary and move him.

I wouldn't mind a deal that would add Rust or Rakell from the Pens. Move Jarvy to 2C, send KK and a prospect to Pittsbhrgh. Pittsburgh is taking calls for both. And both of them have played very well against Carolina.

Yeah, this is what I've been talking about for some time. What is it? Is it the team? The geographic? The GM and/or coach? The Canes cannot lure top end talent here and I can't figure out what the issue is.
