It was a set play on the face off and I'll have to watch the replay, but I think Martinook either went the wrong way or got caught up in the wash. Speaking of, #48 was a stud last night. The only thing he didn't do was score.
-
Burns made the no look pass off the face off, off the boards and nobody was there. The entire side of the ice was exposed and 2 Knights were there for the puck.

Which game are you watching?
-
Winner, winner!

The vast majority of fans don't follow the team like the precious few here. They may hear of Freddie's return on the sports segment of the 5PM news, but until they see him on the bench tonight...
-
Martinook. One of the few who show up and work hard every game.
-
I would think they'll hold him until Chicago, the 1st game of a b2b on Monday, and work him in slowly.
-
Okay, cool. Vegas is better than the Canes, so there's a chance the Canes show up tonight? Oh, and the Vegas goalie, Adin Hill, was passed on as a free agent by the Canes a couple seasons back

Sadly, nothing right now. I was playing a couple albums the other day and noticed how shallow and plain the music sounded, so I did a quick exam of the stylus and had to order a new one. Should be here today, so I'm looking forward to getting back into my vinyl.

This is a garbage road team: Doesn't matter who scores first on the road, the Canes are 9-11-2 on the road this year. No doubt that if they're leading going into the 3rd period, they're almost perfect. Problem is, they're giving up the first goal of the game way too often.

I still think Tulsky was a little hamstrung when it came to cap money after Waddell left. In my opinion, he didn't have enough options to really work any deals. Look at the creativity, and possible rule changes coming as a result, of the Jarvis deal. That kind of illustrated to me there wasn't a lot to work with in the checkbook. Do I think we could have kept Brady Skjei? Yes. Jake Guentzel? I'm not so sure. That being said, this team is average right now, and while a lot of that is goal tending, there are several players who need to start looking in the mirror and holding themselves accountable. After last night's game and the overall performance of the team since Thanksgiving, here's where I'm at: 1. Give Necas the 2C spot. Centers are Aho, Necas, Staal and Drury. Necas wants to be a center and put himself in the conversation to be an $8M player, then let him have the chance. He'll probably be trade bait next year regardless. 2. Top line is Svech, Aho, Jarvis; next is Robinson, Necas, Roslovic; 3rd line Blake, Staal, Martinook; 4th is Jaaska, Drury, KK. I know this makes the 4th line all lefties, but the roster doesn't have enough right-handed forwards to begin with, that's a Tulsky issue. The guys I'd be willing to part ways with: Drury, Jaaska, KK and Orlov (Roslovic makes this list if the Canes have already made up their minds not to keep him. He's a UFA in a few months). This probably doesn't work in reality because RBA is a big fan of Orlov and Drury. And Orlov is the #2 points guy on the blue line behind Gostisbehere, but he is a UFA as well.

I'm out guys. Gonna go watch a movie or something.
-
If I'm RBA, I walk into the room and just look at this team, every man, in the eye and don't say a fugging word. Then I walk out.
-
He plays frantic, he plays out of control. There is nothing that suggests he's in control of his game. The net is 6' wide and there are times #52 looks like he's gotta go 15'. His 5-hole is a favorite target and, if not, give him a minute and he'll lose his stick.
-
Looks like a replay of the Anaheim game already. Nobody wants KK's salary. Anyone wanting KK will also want Carolina to retain a chunk, like 40% minimum.
-
Gimme a fugging break.
-
TBH, it's more than Necas. Take a look at the top 2 lines over the past 15 games. The only guy overachieving is Roslovic, and he's even struggling a little. I don't think a Necas trade will result in a net-benefit for the Canes, and, I think the Canes are kind of stuck when it comes to the TDL. Again, with Roslovic, Fast, Robinson, Jaask and Jost being the only trade bait forwards- how does the team improve moving any of those guys?
-
Does Necas come out of his drought? Guy has 1 goal in 2025, and only 2 since December 5. Went from being an NHL star of the month to just another player.
-
Great- another sub .500 team, which means the Canes likely lose. They play better and win more consistently against teams with winning records than they do those with losing records.

Canes vs Ducks 5pm Eric Staal Game

Maybe the Canes should trot out the alumni team Wed nite. At least they can score. -

That was weak. How the fug do you let that by #52? Team fights all the way back just so Kochetkov can give it away. -

Thought this would be a relatively easy 4-1 win after the Ducks played last night. -

I'll bet no other team in the league comes close to Carolina when it comes to disallowed goals. -
It was Svech.

What a way to honor #12. Don't show up and play like you don't care.
