I don't get why everyone is busting balls on XL for not working on his craft but no one is busting balls on Bryce for refusing to work on his atrocious footwork. It could easily be said that XL is following the example set by his quarterback/captain.

But XL does work at his craft by all accounts. It just hasn't translated to game days.

Nah. In college, Ted Ginn was twitchy, elusive and had world class speed. Like "they thought he would go to the olympics" speed.

Oh, he had world.class.speed, which I mentioned, but you appear to be correct about his twitchiness. After just a quick Google, apparently it was his inability to understand route concepts is what really led to his journeyman status in the league. Depending upon whom you look at, most say Concepcion has a good understanding of routes (but, of course, there's always room for growth). But, like Ginn, at least to this stage, Concepcion has had his fair share of drops.

And you know this how? Stay in your lane, junior. I'm pretty sure I'm a lot older than you, am a whole lot more experienced with life, and have watched football in earnest probably longer than you've been alive.

    Its about economics.

I agree, but I was talking directly about injuries.

As far as the economics, I'm assuming that Moton would have to take a pay cut and would probably be compelled to if he wants to stay in Charlotte. He seems like a thoughtful and practical guy. He knows that he's getting older and realizes the nature of the business. Hell, last time there were were questions on whether he would be here the last season. Dan and Brandt were dialing up the pressure. I don't think they're going to go into any type of contractual extension discussions without having a backup plan--i.e., a person that will appear to be Moton's replacement. And, to be honest, that person may be Moton's replacement depending how things go. But, I get the impression that Moton wants to be in Charlotte (unless he's developed some undying desire to chase a championship somewhere else).

Moton’s playing health has been gradually declining as he is aging, while his contract is a drag on the payroll.  Something will give with him sooner than later but I think 2026 could be it.
So.. need a right tackle by 2027. At the latest.

I just don't get the Moton thing. He played in 16 games last season (and the playoff game). He's had worse seasons from that perspective. His health hasn't really been an issue, and his actual play is still solid. Why are you throwing dirt on him? Some tackles play well into their thirties.

    2. KC Concepcion.  I want to like him, but is he not John Metchie III II?

Putting aside the obviously different playing speed and ability to separate by simply looking at them play, to put it bluntly, do these two profiles sound anything alike?

In short, Metchie is kinda meh and Concepcion has juice.

Believe it or not, sometimes the juice is worth the squeeze.

Many analysts, including Reception Perception's Matt Harmon, thinks it is in Concepcion's case.

Then Dan Morgan should be on the hot seat. Wasting a first and second rounder in a pivotal year is unforgivable.

Meh, it happens. It was his first draft. And the story for JB hasn't even begun yet. He was largely considered a three-round back that some said was better than Bijan. If he has another serious injury this season, then he may be a "wasted" pick. He still has the potential to be an exceptional back if he can get on the field and stay on it.

  7. Well well well, here's a little something different than ad nauseum debates over the first round draft pick. Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini were holding hands and hugging--they say innocently--at some resort in Arizona. On its face, it could be innocent enough, but I still don't know that every husband or wife would be down for similar unnecessary touching in any type of setting, much less what's considered a romantic getaway. Some people probably don't see it as a problem, but couldn't be me. The Athletic is even doing an investigation of its reporter, who apparently has been accused of a questionable relationship before in 2015, though the Commanders' GM's wife later apologized saying that her remarks were unfounded (according to Google AI).

If there is some fire to the smoke, Russini definitely got the downgrade. Vrabel? The sly devil. LOL.

We don't need another first round WR to evaluate Bryce Young. You could give him a young Jerry Rice Randy Moss and Justin Jefferson and he would still struggle to lead the group to a top 20 passing offense because he simply cannot utilize the entire field consistently.

All we're going to end up with by drafting another first round wide receiver is a disgruntled WR room. Because one there are not that many touches to go around and two the touches that will be available maybe half of them will result in good to great ball placement. And the bulk of them will be thrown at or behind the line of scrimmage.

If the FO goes WR at 19 all involved might as well go ahead and start looking at other job opportunities down the line.

First, apologies @MHS831, I know you began this about tackles, and it was good. But...

Frank, your post is just another Bryce sucks post. You obviously believe, like your buddy, that if we draft a WR it's all about evaluating Bryce Young or coddling Bryce Young. In short, it would be about improving the damned team.

If anything, if Bryce is as destined to fail (or is already a failure right now... irredeemable), then another playmaker at WR would just seal the envelope and send him on his way. In my world, that's a good thing.

If some of you think that Bryce is a lame duck, then why wouldn't you want to set the offense up for the next QB to come in and be dropped into the offense to have success? Or, maybe you think it's all a moot point anyway because Tepper sucks, Dan Morgan sucks, Canales sucks, Ejiro sucks, Brandt Tilis sucks---everybidy sucks! If that's the case, then why does anyone care who or what we draft? Obviously some of you have all the answers and can run a gotdamn franchise better than the FO does now.

The simple "BPA drafting" is a complete myth.  If you believe it then it says you dont look at the positional value, dont look at draft depth and dont look at roster make up.  There is no way on Gods green earth that at pick 19 the 5th/6th wr is going to be the BPA.   Thats simply moronic to think.  If we go that route I hope the FO doesnt try the old "piss on my leg and tell me its raining" explanation.  Simply say its imperative we evaluate bryce and giving him another weapon helps us in that process.

If that happens and I am EE I would be losing my mind if we pass on a starting safety or Dtackle depth

Honestly, you don't listen to a word I've said either. A board, WHERE THE BPA comes from, IS GOING TO HAVE POSITIONAL VALUE BUILT IN! Damn, man!
