I agree with his assessment other than the spooked part, that does seem silly.

Rhule so far has chosen Teddy and Darnold...I would take Trubisky and Fields over those 2.

Here's a draft grade I saw that I think was pretty spot on. No. 8: Carolina Panthers: Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina You know the Panthers are devastated by getting thiiiis close to Penei Sewell and missing out. It’s almost like the shock spooked them into making a pick, and it’s the wrong one. I don’t care if there’s an argument to putting Horn above Patrick Surtain II, the Panthers just put all their faith in quarterback in a Sam Darnold reclamation project and left Justin Fields on the board. Taking Fields would have been a tough choice too, but this was unquestionably a bad one. Not trading out of the pick, not gambling on upside. It was safe, and Carolina needed to take a swing. Grade: D

That's the way you see it. As I've mentioned many times, the Panthers don't necessarily see things the way you do.

Its a tradition at this point.

Rebuild a franchise with a bunch of 1st round picks? That will never work. You need to go get guys like Bridgewater and Darnold maybe even sign your RB to a mega deal...that's how you do it.

I'm not sure Sewell will get past the Falcons.

This is ridiculous, Teddy and Sam should be taking long walks on the beach together at this point. Teddy is so selfish.

QB is by far the biggest hole in our roster. If we stop looking for QBs because we got Darnold...this franchise deserves to be terrible.

The reason he got overpaid is because our front office is not so great.

If he's that mentally weak then being a nfl qb probably isnt going to work out.

Keeping Teddy screws up the team dynamics. If there is going to be a qb competition between them, more than likely Teddy beats out Darnold as the starter. If you put Darnold in as the starter anyway, other players might not be so happy with that decision. If the team wants Darnold to start then Teddy needs to be gone.
