My comment was in reference to the two threads, started within six hours of each other, for two videos from the same source.

2 different conversations. One has to do with Darnold as a QB in general. The other has to do with the specific narrative surrounding him saying he was seeing ghosts.

It happens frequently enough in here and it's perfectly ok. A tangent conversation in one thread spurs another thread. The source doesn't matter. The context and conversation does.

Man, I'm going to have so much fun posting in November and December.

Same thing last year. Same bunch of idiots circle jerking and shitting on anyone's opinion they don't share (which they just derive their opinions from a holier than thou, above it all, the front office is always right).

Then November reality hits, same morons that post 200 times a day disappear, go on a "break", suddenly are busy, and "realize that football isn't as important to them" anymore. Again, reality is they talked mad poo all off-season, all early season, and can't take a hit back when reality smacked them in their Walmart sized foreheads.

But of course, they came crawling back when the front office gave them the signal it was okay  to not support Teddy.

    This place is so foolish.

it will be under another alt than this one if you do...one of the quite a few that you've got.

He's right, but the dumbshits on this forum are blindly loyal to whatever the front office does, even though the Panthers have never won anything.

It's extremely unlikely the Darnold pans out.

    This place is bliiiiind.

Lol...it's almost like most of us hadn't been bitching about the FO for years clinging on to hurney and Rivera and Shula.

I hope you enjoy the poo as much as I liked drooping it.

Yea I believe I saw Rhule in an interview that he didnt see Fields as better cumulative option than having both Darnold and Horn on the team.

Yes. Basically the real question to be asked, is Fields better value than Darnold + Horn?

"..Sorry, but if the Panthers are changing their opinions on who they should draft based on who they think we want to draft,
then Panthers fans should be very concerned about why their team has so little confidence in their own scouting department.."

    I tend to agree

    how about this.

panthers wanted marshall but thought they could wait a little longer.

panthers get a call saying that the saints were going to take him with their next pick.

panthers shuffle their pick selections to make sure they get the guy they wanted.

Here is how I live my life. If someone makes an incredible claim, then I want a lot of supporting evidence. If you tell me you bought a CMC Panthers jersey, then I'll take your word for it. If you tell me you know who the Saints are taking at #60 in advance, then you had better have a pile of evidence.

sometimes you know the source well enough to take it at face value.

Who would have specific knowledge that the Saints are going to take Marshall with the 60th pick in the draft? The war room. Who else would know outside the war room? Saints scouts? Why would a Saints scout tell a reported who they were planing to take a the 60th pick? Why would this reporter then call the Panthers specifically. Why would the Panthers then believe this reporter enough to alter their plans. The whole thing falls apart under basic logic.

except leaks like this kind of thing happens a lot.

i'm not going to say that there were times that some picks in previous years were leaked in certain forums here that not everyone gets access to, but it might have happened.

    True

sorry. i just went back and read again what you wrote and understood what you were saying and you are right as well.

someone can be a light and brighten up a room. someone can also be a bad apple that spreads rot to the rest of the barrel. that is something that definitely needs to be watched for and guarded against.

The opposite can be true as well. We even have the old saying "One bad apple spoils the bunch" to refer to it.

yes. that's why i left off "good" in there.

the culture you find yourself in weighs heavily into who you become. you can break out of it to become different, but that is a huge fight. being around successful people makes it easier to be successful. being around people who constantly struggles will likely mean that you struggle as well.

Sounds like a great bumper sticker but at the end of the day he’s still going to have to make the decision to put the team before himself. Hopefully the Rhule culture will bring out the best in him.

yes. like most everything else in life, there are no guarantees. it depends on what nixon makes of the opportunity he has.

but it also has a lot of truth to it. for better or worse, culture shapes character. what that shape actually becomes depends largely on the one whose character it is.

I think the biggest problem is honestly that those guys just didn't have what it took to be elite QB's in the first place. That is why you see so many of them fail after being a bust at their first franchise. Injuries aside, the cream tends to rise to the top at QB in the NFL. That is why the "trash to treasure" stories are so rare.

i think you're right. there are a lot who shouldn't have been drafted as early as they were. i think there were also a lot of others who just fell into the wrong situation.

i just feel like these guys are not just saying all the right things, they are saying the right things because they are doing the right things. they've got it figured out and what they don't have figured out, they are on their way to figuring it out.

i honestly can't think of a better situation for Darnold to be in to help him get it figured out and reach his potential. like i've said before, i don't think there are any guarantees. i do think that they will be putting everything into it.

i also don't think that they are putting themselves into a hole that they can't climb out of with him. It's a safe bet in that he didn't cost too much and it won't cost too much to move on from him and move on to the next one. it's a safe bet, but it could net a pretty nice sized purse.
