Is Cam Newton Washed?

We’ve all watched Cam for almost the last decade. Anyone who says he hasn’t lost some arm strength and throwing ability is either blind or naive.

I don’t think his skills have degraded to the point where it warrants a replacement

Was he really that bad? He just seemed a bit rusty to me and he's acknowledged that himself.

The biggest worry for me was the amount of times he found himself staring at a rampaging blue shirt; he really wasn't protected particularly well.

Eh idk if the oline was the problem.  Cam seemed to miss throw’s he’d usually make.  Weird game.

Cam actually played slightly better than Goff statistically

Cam definitely looked like a better player than Goff.  Doesn't mean I can forgive missing the wide open targets.  When Goff did it it felt very inconsequential.  When Cam did it, they were backbreakers that killed drives.

I've seen you posting the same drivel in different threads.

Where's this ire from you about the wasted drives in the first half stalled by mind numbingly predictable run plays up the middle for little or no gain? Multiple drives we would get a nice completion on first and piss the drive away with a no gain run on second that put the offense in third and long. Did you see the Rams putting themselves in that position?

Yes, I did.  I also saw the Rams converting on 3rd down over, and over, and over, and over, while our offense couldn't manage to convert a 3rd and 3 or longer...

Sean McVay. That's why he's only 33 years old and has already coached in his first Super Bowl.

I will say that though our offensive line played better than I expected, third downs were rough for both the OL, and Cam. There were a couple of plays where Cam got the snap and basically immediately got smothered.

Either you can be a glass half full kind of fan and expect Newton to come out firing against the Bucs on Thursday. Or you can be just another miserable glass half empty rabble rouser who spends countless hours huffing and puffing about how bad Cam Newton is.

Glass has been half-full for about 8 years now.  Kinda getting old waiting on the damn thing to fill all the way up...
