This whole thread is stupid.

Now that that is out of the way...

1. Rashad McCants is crazy, but also makes some decent points/knows things and speaks "some" truth I'm sure. He's also chasing money out of this IMO. To believe him fully? You'd be a moron.

2. Roy's "aww shucks" I didn't know routine is also silly. He's been quoted in the past as saying he/the staff knows what classes kids are taking, how they're doing, yada yada. If you believe he knew nothing, you'd be a moron. I'm not saying he orchestrated anything or changed grades...but for him to say he doesn't even know what paper classes are, after 4 years now of talking about them...just shut up Roy.

3. What's Wayne Walden up to? That's the guy they need to be interviewing.

I think Andrew Carter (as usual) takes a level headed approach here and I agree with his sentiments

McCants rambled some. The Wainstein answer was really weird. But overall I thought he presented well. UNC fans won't want to hear it, course

Love the irony, whatever you call it of fans claiming media bias. "You're biased because you don't love the team I love!" Come on, people.

Or: "You're biased because you reported this thing I don't like! Stop hating us!" Just stop, folks.

Do believe it's faulty to take one side or the other, blindly. Both parties have a lot of questions to answer.

I don't think the thread is stupid, for one it's very relevant locally and two it's really the only thing going on in college basketball right now.  Now have there been some stupid post?  Of course, but the topic isn't stupid at all.

To your other statement about believing McCants fully, the only thing that I find hard to believe is that roy would tell him, personally, that he would take care of the grades.  Most coaches, like Calapari, have assistant coaches or others who are buffers in case something like this comes out and then the coach can honestly deny it.  That buffer would be the one to take the blame for any wrong doing and they would suffer the consequences.  I do believe McCants took fake classes, had tutors write papers, and I also believe he isn't the only one.

Now onto roy, I agree with you.  You can't go from saying "we know.....every day we're in touch with our kids" to saying "we don't know what's going on every day.  I mean I've got 13 to 17 kids."  So which is it?

Onto Wayne Walden, man that would be one hell of an interview if you could get him to open up.  I do not think that McCants is going to be the only one to come out so that could lead to a real problem for unc.  Do they keep doing what they been doing and just throw roy and whoever else under the bus and claim he was rogue or is this the final straw where they say it's time to come clean.  There could be a few jobs lost up on chapel hill!

Good interview with Jay Bilas on 610 just now. He made some pretty good points. Hopefully there will be a link on their site later.

Summary = RM is full of poo.

His point was that Roy probably knew what classes he was taking but more than likely didn't know in his second year on campus that they were fake classes and certainly didn't steer him towards the classes. Equated the AFAM classes as those "easy classes" that every student knows about at any school and takes when they need to help out their GPA. If you went to college you knew which classes were the easy ones.

Couldn't happen to a more deserving university. I don't think they are actually any dirtier than any other similar school, but it's nice to see their holier-than-thou shtick come crashing down.

Thank you for at least keeping it real here. I can respect that.

I feel bad for Rashad McCants.  I do not understand how he blames other people for his failures when it's obviously his laziness, lack of a work ethic and poor attitude.  I hope he is not as broke and desperate as he appears.
