I was looking at the PFF FA ratings for interior d-line, Dwan is -6.8, and Neblett is graded -11.0 both in the bottom ten of the list for FA defensive linemen, so is Dwan's sacks due to CJ and Hardy rather than his ability to get pressure on the QB?

No reason why we cant get at least one of those guys at the top in FA. I would rather have experience at DT than another rookie.

I thought we loved Dwan and thought he was great? Same with Norman. I guess people jump of the ban wagon in masses.

PFF can say what they want. I thought he was good.

I think it just illustrates how dependent all players are on how well their teammates play. CJ and Kraken have good games, so does Dwan and the other interior linemen. Dwan and the interior gets pressure up the middle, CJ and Kraken run amok, and #59 and company hammer anything that gets past them. Granted, individual talent counts, but it can only take a guy so far if everyone else isn't up to the task.

Dwan did exactly what he was asked to do. He held his gap and collapsed the pocket, and even brought the QB down several times.

He obviously has his issues in the run game, but not a bad pick up as a last minute free agent signing.

agreed. he was solid and like i said, the best 3 tech we had.

he just benefitted from CJ and hardy, but props to him for being able to take advantage of that. i think he also benefitted from ron being next to him.

he wasn't great by any means, but he wasn't a liability like we're accustomed to.

he was a step up, but not irreplaceable.

PFF tracks many neat stats but their grading system is flat out weird sometimes.

I thought Dwan played pretty well.

We paid him too much, but he did his part in the improvement of our d-line.

Our D Line is focused around our DEs, i dont think the Panthers are stressing over getting a stud DT. Long as its somewhere in there that can stuff the run collapse the pocket enough for the DEs to get pressure.

Eggheads gonna egghead. Dwan was in beast mode last year. He needs to be retained.

He's a very good interior pass rusher.

But he is poor in run defense. IIRC he was starting for the Bills when they had that horrendous worst run defense in the league. Still I like him but we still need another defensive tackle who can fill the holes and allow our LBs to roam.
