Crossroads already has a Hillary attack ad up and Rand Paul has been or is going to Iowa to talk about it. That is proof enough that this is a preemptive strike.

This is such a contrived issue and clearly demonstrates how desperate the GOP/Tea Party has become.  The GOP/TPs failure to do anything of merit during the last twelve years has reduced them to slinging chit against the walls of Congress in hopes that something will stick.

Hey, GOP if you want to hold Congressional investigations, why not make it about something worth investigating?  Here are just few suggestions:

1) Why after 5 years haven't there been any major trials or convictions of financial leaders on Wall Street?

2) Why wasn't George Bush impeached for his administration's incompetence during Hurricane Katrina?

3) Why after 10 years hasn't George Bush, Dick Cheney and their band of merry men, been charged with war crimes for starting a senseless war in Iraq that resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians?

4) Why wasn't George Bush impeached for disregarding the CIAs warnings of a pending terrorist attack on US soil that resulted in the loss of over 3000 lives (literally a thousand times worse than Benghazi)?

5) Why, after over 30 years of hard evidence, does anyone with discernible brain activity still believe that supply side economics and tax cuts for the rich help our economy?

Those that truly believe Benghazi is an issue worth discussing should consider the fact that over 50 embassy personnel, 3,000 soldiers and 3000 civilians were killed under President Bush's watch and he was never able to catch bin Laden.

Benghazi was about 3 Americans in a war torn country where, for once, the US was actually perceived by the majority of locals as liberators.

Those 3 individuals had as much if not more knowledge than anyone else in the State Department as to what their security issues were.  Yet, they chose to put themselves in harm's way because they believed in what they were doing.  It is sad that they died, but what is sadder still is the very same GOP politicians that intentionally cut funding for US Embassy security are now callously using these brave Americans' deaths for political gain.

the list is actually longer. and there has been two parties on watch during the list as well.

the reason for  the lack of some hearings, say the financial mess is there would be too many that go down. at the same time, some key players have since moved on that would make any difference.

it doesn't matter tho. one person says A, another says B.

speaking of hearings. i love the youtube vids where regulators were telling the sub finance committee about freddie and fannie and the overall impact it is going to have and barney frank and some other yahoo's just dismissed them.

this was around 2002 or so and we know how that turned out.

so yeah. im all for retroactive hearings.

it would be foolish not to look critically at Benghazi to determine whether or not the administration erred. to do anything less is blatant partisan bias.

the only thing more foolish would be ignoring the fact that the republican party/conservative propaganda machine are giving themselves hernias trying to detonate this into the biggest issue they possibly can because an enormous percentage of their constituency base is a bunch of uneducated buffoons who will gobble it up and make stupid facebook posts about it.

and the left also pulled their political hamstrings over Romney's tax return. did not the media do a good job in assisting the near witch hunt of that?

it was a return. nothing more and nobody died.

and both parties have their share of imbeciles.

if Hilary was not Sec of State, this would not be simmering as much as it currently is. She just happens to be the Sec of State and was right in the middle of it and this is what you get.

in politics its point counterpoint. that is what they are pro's at. they play the gotcha game and revionist history better than anybody else and yet, BOTH bases keep voting them in year after year after year.

Of course the list could be much longer, those were just a few that came to mind at the time.  Realistically most politicians that make it to DC have compromised their ethics and morals to such a degree it is amazing to me that they aren't wearing uniforms similar to those of NASCAR drivers.  In fact, it would be an improvement if they were legally required to wear logos of all their major contributors.  That way we would at least know who had bought their vote.

You do realize it was the GOP led House of Representatives that was responsible for that delay, don't you?

Here is the Governor of NJ blasting the House GOP if you don't believe me.

And here is Governor Christie praising President Obama for his efforts to speed relief to NY/NJ.

Pretty good summary.
