I don't think you are alone. To.me the best approach is take a wait and see attitude and save the bitching for later in the year when it might be well deserved.

He was here 9 years and made tens of millions. He has played long enough to know that if you can't produce in this league you get replaced. That is the harsh reality of the NFL.  It is funny that many of the same people who were so excited to see Rivera fired and reveled in the news are now pissed that the new coaches cleaned house. That is what happens. You got what you wanted. I don't remember everyone so.pissed about Rivera being canned. Yet anyone with a modicum of understanding would know that when a new coach comes in he wants his own guy.  That is the justification everyone said Tepper would use for canning Rivera and Hurney. But OCs shouldn't have their guy at QB?

Then, as the billionaire owner with ‘brass balls’  who wants his own imprint, tell you former star  in dec or Jan or feb that you are going a different way

it is truly not that hard to be a decent human being

And how is moving on from a player who wins 8 games in 2 years or 32 possible games and was paid 5 million a win make Tepper a terrible human being.  Seems he was patient with Cam to this point IMO and released him now instead of keeping until after the draft when a trade would be even harder. Rhule made this decision and Tepper gave him control.  I don't know who is pulling the strings. Do you?

Idk what you are getting at you’re shifting to a different argument, if he was notified properly and released I’m sure there wouldn’t be any backlash, since that’s not the case, he was blindsided and we didn’t notify him until well into fa when teams have already made moves at qb, and to try and paint the picture that he wanted a trade is disingenuous no matter how you cut it, so him having a opinion on that is well warranted,

as far as Rivera don’t no how that relates to this issue he got a presser in which he threw a little shade and we didn’t wait until week 1-2 to fire him, I personally am not filled with joy watching another grown man lose his job, but I did agree it was time to move on. Rhule and his staff have every right to employ who they believe will get them to where they need to be, but to lie about a situation to fans isn’t acceptable on any level unless it’s some kind of gamesmanship, which it wasn’t

I wonder if Cam wants to pay back the 40 million he received over the past 2 years. Sure he is angry at the team but how long are they supposed to hang on handing him 20 million plus per year to not play. Honestly I hope he recovers but am not angry the Panthers moved on. This is the way it goes in the NFL.

Couldn’t have been said any better!! I liked Cam but time to move on!  Great post!!

The panthers quit on him and kicked him to the curb like yesterday’s garbage. It was extremely unprofessional and a real slap in the face. I am a fan of the Panthers first or foremost, so I won’t dump the Panthers like they did to QB1, but giving up on him will be a decision that haunts the panthers for a very long time.

also, fug Marty Hurney.

It was absolutely professional...

C'mon. Now you really think Cam was blindsided and had no clue?  Be serious. The whole he had no clue is a farce. It has been rumored for months and nothing that anyone said before Rhule at the combine suggested Can was going to be here.

And again if you didn't realize that Rivera was what kept Cam here as a starter and that once Rivera was gone no player was safe but Kuechly who retired and CMC, then you weren't paying attention.

Personally I think they were prepared to keep Cam and draft a QB. I don't think they thought they could get Bridgewater and afford him. In fact Rhule something to that effect. I think they shopped Cam and found little interest. So once they could sign Teddy I think the mindset totally changed and Cam was expendable. But I don't think there was that much deception but more keep all your options open.

Derek Carr must be the worst Quarterback of ALL TIME then, dude's been in the league 6 years and hasn't had a winning season.

All he's done in those 6 seasons is complete 64% of his passes for 22,793 yards 143 Tds 62 INTs with a 90.7 QBR.

Judging a Qb strictly by Wins and Losses has got to be the silliest thing someone can do, BUT it is something I expect a CASUAL football fan to do, (you know the fans that don't really have a high football IQ) so I totally understand why you think that way, but it's not a very intelligent way of thinking.

All is about wins and losses...that is all that matters

Tepper himself and Rhule kept telling media members they wanted to win a super bowl with cam or that was the plan. He was blindsided this ain’t a rumor lol to think it is after watching everything unfold is shortsighted. It’s not a farce, why the hell would cam come out and say he’ll be a 100% coming back if he didn’t believe it ? It benefits him zero saying that during a interview.

lol you think Rivera was what was keeping cam here you are lost, I’m starting to think that’s why Eric beniney and others weren’t the choice cause they showed interest in keeping cam, and Luke would have been shipped out if he stayed, so I’m glad he retired instead of getting traded for bubble gum and lint.

personally they lied, don’t know how you feel about being lied to but not encouraging for a first time owner and nfl head coach. They could have as easily and I mean easily said with the direction of the franchise we are taking, we are moving on from cam Newton ect.  Not proud to rep an organization that indulges in that behavior is classless

How about TBs stats from last year? Are ANY of Cam's stats better than those? And granted it was a smaller sample size. And most elite QB that put up those kind of numbers would be considered a down year. You know that right?

regarding what you said, cam was definitely top 10 in the early half of 2018 despite not being fully healed prior to the steelers game. hell, his overall season was better than any of teddy's even including the shitshow torwards the end with the deteriorating shoulder. overall the season wasn't great due to the reaggrevation of the shoulder and ron not benching him. also when did cam have all the weapons TB had?  you use the term small sample size like it isn't extremely flawed to do and if you could just extend 5 games over a whole season he'd be even better? remember kyle allen's 5 game sample size? or what about matt flynn?  the legendary tommy maddox ? HE EVEN HAD A 10 GAME SAMPLE SIZE! hell fug it, just extend jerome harrison's 296 yard game over a whole season and he'd be a hall of famer.

infact if we're going off sample sizes, what about cam's 22 td to 1 int run in 2015? or to make it more fair since that was in more games than teddy's, his last 5 weeks of 2015 where he threw for 1369 yards, 15 tds and 1 int? what about week 6-10 in 2018 where he threw for 1,285 yards for 11 tds to 2 picks on 71% on a fuged up shoulder? how about in 2017 week 10-14 where he threw for 984 and 11 tds to 1 int? (i know the yards through the air are lower, mostly because he had 300 rushing yards in that span) 2016 where his wrs routinely dropped passes like this (this was in the same span, along with the raiders td pass below) yet despite it had a 5 game span from week 9 to 13 with 1,080 yards and 7 tds to 2 ints? cam put up similar or the same numbers in 5 game spans with post acl tear KB and while injured and being headhunted because the NFL wouldnt call flags equally, and has put up similar numbers in spans with almost no supporting cast routinely throughout his career. these numbers being without even adding the rushing yards either lol.

you try to pick at people for talking about what cam has had to work with, without realizing that most of the standards you just gave applied to teddy. allpro wr.. probowl RB.. a great coach.. a good line.. solid TEs.. and a defense, something the team in which he recently played on all had. meanwhile cam had greg olsen, a bottom 3 oline in football and a bunch of bums (in some cases literal practice squad fodder). i mean if you wanna ignore context and remain willfully ignorant, be my guest. these are just the surface level numbers and cam, despite all context being missing and just ignoring how the players he was working with arent even the same league as the s*ints wrs and line,  still outperforms teddy every year of his career and in those precious 5 game spans that you ramble on about.

??? Teddy's stats from last year were garbage. Every year played in Cam's career was better than Teddy's 2019. hell Cam's 2019 was almost better than Teddy's 2019 and he only played 2 games vs Teddy's 9.

Granted TB's sample size from year was small (5 games). Here are the stats:

67.9% Completion Rate, 9 TDs, 2 INTs, 4.6 TD% , 1.0 INT% , 7.1 Yds Per Att , 99.1 Rating

Cam's best year as a passer:

59.8% Completion Rate, 35 TDs, 10 INTs,  7.1 TD%, 2.0 INT% , 7.8 Yds Per Att, 99.4 Rating

So in Cam's MVP he was slightly better than TBs. BTW this is the ONLY year Cam's stats were better than TB's 2019 stats.

It's simple. If you are saying Cam's stats are on par with the QBs that are consensus "elite' over the same time period. you are not living in reality Thats not Cam hate that is just facts.

through the air? no, you have to add his rushing yards to get his true yard totals. put tom brady behind the 2016 panthers oline and receiving corps. do you look at anything besides the bare surface level stats? the ones that still show cam outperforms teddy despite how misleading they are?

I'm waiting to see what kind of contract Cam eventually does get from another team to really finalized my personal feelings.  I get why Cam most likely wanted an extension; BUT in a way he also gave up on us because it is understandable why the Panthers wanted him to play out the last year of his contract as a show me year (yes assuming that's what they wanted).

If Cam ends up with basically a one year deal from another team then  .    If he gets more years and guarantee's then good for him.  Overall I wanted Cam here for 2020 season to see if he could be a good to great QB ... but understand the concern of the Panthers extending him prior.

Cam didn’t get cut because he wanted an extension. Cam didn’t hold out. Cam didn’t do anything to cause his release. Panthers didn’t want him to play out his final year or he’d still be on the team.

You're being so blatant with your intellectual dishonesty that's it's almost insulting.

Teddy's been surrounded by ELITE offensive talent for years and pads stats. Cam's best WR for almost 10-years was Ted Ginn Jr.

Are we really doing this?
