So really. They almost have to have guys retire. Yes they have the 3rd pick. And yes, maybe they can get a QB with that pick. But they’re stuck with Carr’s contract. If they cut him. It’s a 60+ mil cap hit. Something they can’t absorb when they are already 70 over. His contract is one of the 2-3 real ones they can restructure to save money and help just get under the cap. If they do, they’re going to be stuck with him longer than the 2 more years they are now. The rest of their roster is old. Including a 34 year old Taysom Hill, who will be a 18 mil cap hit if they cut him thanks to the restructuring over the years.
