Bye week trivia- Without looking it up, Who leads the Panthers in...
hepcat replied to Basbear's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’d like to add one - what’s the panthers point differential? -
I think Teddy asswater and Joe brady did not get along truth be told
-
weener farts are way more meta
-
Taking the panthers on an -11 spread is not a bad idea just because it’s a home game but I mean my gut says the panthers are getting dog dicked
-
If a good QB was available to draft I'd say go for it but I don't see the Panthers being in position to draft one in the first round at this moment.
-
As much as I want them to draft a QB in the first round, I don’t see it happening. The team has too many needs and they’re married to Bryce at least one more season unless they trade him. The first round pick should be a defensive player. Hopefully they can get the top LB or DE in the draft because the defense is turds right now. I would not mind if they took a chance on a 3rd or 4th round QB with some physical talent. Replacing Dalton as the veteran backup is a priority, getting a younger backup QB who might have some ability to start long term would be a better option. There will be a glut of reclamation QBs to choose from.

Can something be done about this referee bias against the Panthers?
hepcat replied to Shocker's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would like to see some data to back this up but my own fan bias makes me believe this is true -
I mean Bryce still doesn’t pass the eye test. He’s made some better throws since he was benched I’ll give him that. But there’s just not a lot of zip on the ball and he still struggles to make routine throws in rhythm.
-
True but probably would still have DJ Moore in that scenario too
-
lol could have had two firsts and a second for Burns but hey that’s why that goiter isn’t the GM anymore
-
Part of the reason Wonnum might have made an impact is the Giants didn’t have any film to study on him in this scheme. I wouldn’t be surprised if his impact is negated in a game or two. But I’m hopeful having someone who can get to the QB will help
-
LB is a massive need. Unless they are in position to draft a top notch QB, they should consider it or even potentially trading down to get more picks. This team has holes up and down the roster in particular the defense. Which might have 2 or 3 guys which are guaranteed to be here next season.
-
To be fair, both of these teams were trading turnovers trying to lose the game

I genuinely don’t think there is a single Panthers fan who wants Bryce to fail. There’s a big difference between actively rooting for someone’s failure, and just observing the obvious. I didn’t personally think before the 2023 season “omg I hope Bryce fails I hate him” I was cautiously optimistic although admittedly skeptical because I had seen him play in college and he had a lot of red flags that seemed to be totally ignored in the draft process. But now? I don’t think he’s going to be the franchise QB for this team, he’s obviously too physically limited, but he might have a long career in the NFL as a backup and game manager. He’s just not the caliber of player who should have been taken #1 overall. He was wildly overhyped because he went to Alabama and the Panthers drank the proverbial kool ade. So long story short no, I don’t hope he fails, at this point I know he’s a failure relative to what the Panthers paid to get him.

There has to be some cost element to it. That or it limits opportunities for other events at the stadium like concerts. Not sure why they couldn’t come up with a plan for the field with all those renovations and upgrades coming.
-
I have some hope Dan Morgan isn’t a total jabroni. At least he drafted some impact players. Legette and JT Sanders look like keepers. Tevin Wallace is starting games and not f*cking things up. If Brooks pans out it’ll be a home run draft.
-
if he posted those numbers against the Chiefs I'd be over here slobbing his knob but that defense has gotten dog dicked by every competent offense all season long and went full charmin soft defense with the game on the line against a terrible offense.
-
Been doing it all season! It’s the default scheme. But there’s no situational playcalling. You’d think they’d bump those receivers on third and short instead of playing off by 10 yards. I think defensive coordinators are calling scared because their corners are going to get called for holding
-
lol for real. Bryce made a handful of good throws in this game. I will give him that. The sideline throw to Legette was legit. He’s also missing a ton of throws and open receivers. The offense moves in spite of him sometimes.
-
Oh for sure. But the scheme has been extremely questionable on defense in particular. On offense it’s clearly a Bryce/talent issue.
-
See the comment above you. The team is 2-7. Why are they playing the Ron Rivera Charmin Soft prevent defense like they have something to play for? They FINALLY call a blitz on third down in the red zone to force a field goal. Where was that aggressiveness when they weren’t already in field goal range?
-
4th quarter, game on the line, playing 10 yards off receivers allowing completion after completion on simple route concepts. This has been happening all season and is unacceptable bad playcalling. EDIT: Just as soon as I post this, Kurt Warner is calling out the Panthers bad defensive scheme.

The giants are going to run the ball every play and the panthers can’t stop them. Throwing the ball they will lose
