There are much bigger needs than Cade Mays right now. He has performed well and I think he'll be an affordable starting center option. He looks wildly better than the previous starting center Bradley Bozeman who got beaten like a ragdoll against the Patriots last Sunday. But in retrospect the Panthers have had so many opportunities to draft a legit second round center in the last 5 years it's ridiculous.

2026 Panthers Free Agents… who you keeping and who can walk
hepcat replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
It would be worth it. The entire line plays better when he’s in the game and I don’t see him getting worked game after game. I saw our old center Bozeman getting destroyed against the Patriots which was funny to see. -
Scott Fitterer was the worst GM in the history of the NFL and as a grown man if I saw him in an airport or something I would go up to him and tell him what an idiot he is for not trading Brian Burns for TWO FIRST ROUND PICKS AND A SECOND ROUND PICK. So glad that moron isn’t working for the Panthers anymore. Single handedly lead us into the gutter.

Anthony Hill might be gone by 19 he is gonna destroy the combine. He’s an athletic freak and a great instinctual player. Source- I watch a lot of Texas football. -
Carolina Panthers pick No. 19-2026 NFL Draft
hepcat replied to PantherBoy95's topic in Carolina Panthers
Anthony Hill would be an excellent pick even in the first round. Dude gonna be a baller -
Nijman is actually one of the better free agent left tackles available in free agency and he will get a chance to start next year. He will get a raise and likely be re-signed. Christensen backs him up and they should sign another veteran tackle and/or draft a 2nd or 3rd round tackle as well. Zavala and Corbett need to go so they should also draft a guard. I’ve suggested they should trade down in the first round to accumulate more picks for depth they are going to need a lot of going forward.
-
Was gonna say the same. They’ll probably sign a veteran tackle near the end of their career as well as signing Nijman and Christensen back, and maybe drafting a 2nd or 3rd round tackle as well. They might benefit from trading down in the first because they are going to have a lot of depth needs.

Seems like since Raheem was a defensive guy and the Atlanta defense obviously improved that the team was an offensive coordinator away from being far more competitive. Falcons gonna Falcon.

2026 Panthers Free Agents… who you keeping and who can walk

Depends how the draft shakes out but I think a second round tackle is probably the better decision. I doubt they're gonna roll out a rookie LT starter in what could be a playoff caliber team next season. I expect Nijman and Christensen to battle for the starting LT spot with a rookie in the mix. -

Coker needs to be signed long term ASAP but he might wait a year when he has a true breakout season, but he's rolling the dice on his injury history as well. Panthers should go sign some speed at WR behind him. -
It seems the Panthers have earned their respect back

I mean none of the offensive linemen played 17 games. They need depth for all of the starters. -

I dunno about how big of an impact losing Icky is. He was a mauler in the run game when healthy but was always average in pass coverage and seemed to be playing hurt this year. Nijman performed well when he had to play. -
They’re going to need to re-sign Nijman. He had performed well when called upon and he could probably fill in while Icky rehabs next year. They are going to need to draft some mid/late round offensive linemen anyway with Moton getting up there in years and offensive linemen depth always a critical piece of any successful team.

Yea the entire NFL got to watch the Panthers play a tough hard fought game against a Super Bowl contender and the Panthers looked every bit that they belonged in the playoffs. If they continue to improve the roster, Morgan hits on the first and second round pick again, this could be an actual good team next year. Getting a stud pass rusher, improving the linebacker group, getting a legit slot receiver, and retooling the depth on the offensive line and they’re in the playoffs again. Honestly this group was probably one elite pass rusher away from a deep playoff run. -
T-Mac was getting the primary coverage so Coker had opportunities that he capitalized on. That game isn’t even close without Coker. They need a speedy slot guy to compliment those two on the outside and the offense is gonna improve.

Dave doesn’t sound too thrilled with the prevent

I think Raheem Morris would be a great hire. Atlanta had a good defense this year. He should not have been fired in Atlanta. They won 4 straight to end the season. They figured some things out late in the season and they’re gonna start all over again. -

Evero is a puzzling case of the defense doing well enough to lull you into thinking he’s doing a good job and then with the game on the line in the biggest game of the season he coughs up the worst defensive play calls of the season. I think it’s time for a new voice on defense. -
Lot of rookies playing meaningful snaps out there for a playoff team. They will get better.

please god let Gronk be gone from any NFL broadcast.
hepcat replied to Carolina Cajun's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think they like his stupid concussion riddled brain because it brings ratings with how bad he is -
This team was 2-15. They’d just finished a 2-15 season, fired Frank Reich, and Bryce looked like a total and complete bust. Two years later the Panthers just played a punch for punch fight with the juggernaut Rams and deserved to win. Hopefully they can build on this and come back to the playoffs with a purpose next year. Proud of these boys. KEEP POUNDING!

If you're not proud of this team after that performance...
hepcat replied to Jay Roosevelt's topic in Carolina Panthers
After literally 8 years of miserable football, We just watched the Panthers play a hell of a game in the playoffs. From where we were 2 years ago after firing Reich and finishing 2-15 with Bryce looking like a bust, we’ve come a LONG way. We should all be VERY proud of this team and the future is very bright. -
Even disguise the coverage, ANYTHING. Maybe horn going out made him play extra safe

As someone who has not liked Bryce throughout the season…
hepcat replied to LegioX's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce played great tonight. The loss was not on him. He made some mistakes but more than made up for it. -
He calls the worst drive of the season with the playoffs on the line. They had the game right there and he calls the limpest play calls in the playbook
