  1. I hit your quote by mistake. I know you're not Dexterity. I obviously need to go back to sleep.
  2. I know. I don't know why I quoted Dex. It's easy to make mistakes with the app.
  3. I guess I can unblock him now. In my opinion, should have been done a long time ago. The unnecessary havoc he caused started well before today. Good riddance.
  4. Ladypanther should have been a mod a long time ago.
  5. Greater than "I've never been banned!" Have you killed a girl?
  6. I am still trying to figure out this "never been banned" thing, like that's a good thing.
  7. That's exactly what I thought when Mr. Scot said that. The NFL (and to a lesser extent, the NFLPA) have bestowed God-like powers to Roger Goodell, but the league's FO still has to answer to the courts---and the court of public opinion---if Demaurice Smith decides to take legal action if necessary. On an off note, if Hardy gets a two game suspension, I think that he will probably let the whole thing go and do his time, especially if there is some tacit agreement by the Panthers that this would be palatable to them in regards to re-signing him on a one year prove-it deal.
  8. I gotta think that G-man was using Ginn as a real receiver because that is what the cap permitted at the time. Both G-man and especially Rivera have talked up the fact that there may be a change in thinking regarding having special teams aces. I would think that Ginn would fit this bill. History has pretty much proven that this is the most efficient way to use Ginn. Ace, first and foremost. Receiver, occasionally.
  9. The more, the merrier...at the right price. I am no GM, but I could see paying him five mil over the next three seasons with three guaranteed.
  10. All that Voth or any blogger ever had to say is that chances are that Hardy will not be back, but there is a small chance that he could return under the right circumstances. I believe one Charlotte writer did (though I can't remember who it was). Talking with surety before the dust settles makes for unnecessary drama, but also makes for good traffic I suppose.
  11. He had a bench trial in which the female judge found him guilty based on some sketchy circumstances. He appealed so that he could be judged by a jury of his peers. This jury trial never happened because the state did not believe that it could not make a credible case due to the alleged victim being uncooperative.
  12. Hardy is going to get railroaded regardless of the facts. He may have been better off just going to a jury trial. He is in the center of the perfect storm, and Roger and his new female cohorts will probably succumb to public pressure.
  13. Picking up contributing UDFAs is very nice, but, me personally, I don't use it as a justification for making mistakes in the draft. That being said, I think that Gettleman has done a good job, but he has't been perfect. But perfection isn't the standard that one should be using to judge G-man. His general management is still evolving, but I like the way we're headed so far.
  14. It's sealed for a reason, and the NFL can't compel him to reveal anything. That would be a violation of his rights, and would most certainly open the NFL up to a major lawsuit.
  15. I took a year of law school and actually got a B in criminal law, but I would love to hear from a criminal attorney at this point. Criminally, I don't think that the league has a case to stand on in reference to any further action. Now if the civil part is indeed true regarding a settlement, then perhaps that could be grounds for conduct detrimental to the league. I don't know. In any event, I still believe that even the civil matter would be a slippery slope for the league to base any appreciable suspension. Hardy is actually in a good spot from the legal and financial standpoint in regards to the league. Of course he won't be getting any endorsements, but with his earning power, that will hardly preclude him from becoming more of a multimillionaire than he already is.
  16. Why is everyone so surprised and/or outraged? I never thought this case was going to come to much if she did or did not show up. None of the principals or the witnesses were absolutely credible. The time for surprise and outrage has been long gone. Hardy should have never allowed himself to get into the situation. Hopefully it will be the last lesson that he needs to get his poo straight. As for the future, I am not making any predictions, but at the end of the day I do think that money and grace---on all sides---will tell the story as to where Hardy does or doesn't end up.
  17. CJ has been the backbone of our D-line for several years, and I hope that he is for several more. His presence and pressure has allowed others to focus on their job. Even Hardy wasn't the same player without CJ on the other side. But CJ is always CJ---strong against the run and the pass---no matter who is on the other side, and that's what makes him special.
  18. Oh, yeah, I don't think that we're going to know what players truly think of Hardy until he is gone. And, even then, we still may not know depending upon the level of "silence" that his ex-teammates want to keep. No one is going to talk against Hardy with things still up in the air, or even think that it's necessarily their place to do so.
  19. JPP is Jason Pierre-Paul. I think that you're correct (if you believe) that Hardy has never been the force or freak that Peppers was (is). His fanboys want it to be that way, but Hardy is Peppers Lite (extremely lite).
  20. The "suckass" team argument really doesn't do it for me. This is the NFL. If you want to use that argument, then you can say that during Hardy's breakout year, he only made his sacks against "suckass" teams. Perhaps, but Smitty's trouble has basically been on the field. Moreover, he has gone more than 5 years since "sneaking" Lucas. G-man fixed that though, and so Hardy should come as no surprise.
