  8. Mays is an interesting option but I honestly think the fact that other teams are interested scares Gettleman.
  9. Stevie Brown is a guy that interests me a little bit. I'd consider upgrading at Safety one of our Top 4 needs this offseason. His stock is low because he was coming off an injury last year, but he had some solid years before that, and according to rotoworld and a Giants fan I know, played pretty decent down the back stretch. Not an old player, has a connection to Gettleman. Is somebody I was hoping we'd show an interest in.
  10. The only people throwing a tantrum is the crowd that can't handle others not reciprocating the homer narrative. I've been a part of numerous discussions in recent days, tell me TRG how many of your posts have offered something insightful and how many have been some panic induced hyperbole whine storm at posters who refuse to allow you to live happily in the fantasy you're concocting.
  11. Please elaborate iamhubby, I want to hear the deep expanse of your football IQ, why does Michael Crabtree not a fit for our scheme Surely you aren't saying we just need a "fast" player because that would be daft, I want to hear how he isn't a fit for what we do. Pleas do share, and don't forget to tell us how your giddy is doing, were all longingly pining for an update

  13. People made this same argument about Marty Hurney until the day he was fired (and beyond, in some extreme cases) Just because the guy is an employee of the NFL doesnt mean he isnt prone to outdated notions or other mistakes. Do I think Gettleman is a good GM? Yes. Do I think he is prone to legitimate failings that we are free to discuss? Yes.
  14. This is an excellent and perfectly timed example of what I'm talking about. I'm even going to give you pie for helping me illustrate my point. Appreciated.
  15. I never said he was "wrecking the team" (though there are better options to acquire) and the only posters who would claim it a "waste of their time" are those who don't like being confronted with reality in the midst of their "His had a hurt teo guys, it's all good" bonanza. As I said in my last post, you and your ilk do this pretty consistently. Whenever confronted with these realities, your report to hyperbole and sensationalism to try avoid facing the tough questions "How can you say he's wrecking the team!!!!!! Ee-gads!!!"
  16. I'm not talking about his scouting ability, he does that well and I give him credit for it. When I speak of his history in New York and trends here, I'm speaking to his philosophy. More specifically, I'm speaking to his philosophy on OL as a whole. As I've said, I don't think he values it as much as he should, and in light of the success (or lack thereof) that we've had with his UDFAs and basement level FAs as a whole, it looks as if it's a significant flaw in his approach.
  17. Yes, I have criticized him for the mistakes he's made, and just because I'm not sitting at his feet huffing the aroma of his freshly cut toes, doesn't mean that I am not aware of what real talent is available to us this offseason beyond the top tier names. Rectifying those two lines of thinking as capable of coexisting within one mindset has been the most difficult and frustrating part for the posters here who try to bill anyone who doesn't squeal in exuberance for the wisdom of The Dave as michael Oher or Byron bell allow yet another defender to blow by them as some sub-human smut while shouting "dis ain't madden brah!" so as to avoid any real or difficult questions on how an all-knowing and irreproachable *gasp* NFL employee! could possibly make a mistake that was detrimental to our team. I mean that just doesn't happen ever and how dare I insinuate otherwise.
  18. I'm saying that I feel like Gettleman's history both here (and in New York, on the matter of offensive lineman in themselves) is enough to suggest that we probably shouldn't just assume this is a routine depth move on the path to truly fulfilling the need in the draft. In fact, if that is the case, and he is waiting for the draft to address needs, I'm wondering just how many picks he thinks he has in the Top 60 before the starter level rookies start to drop off pretty significantly. Even if we do have an OT fall in our lap come draft night, it still doesn't address the other positions of needs on the roster, which is where my frustration of the last few days is born.
  19. If this was true then he would've provided a stronger measure of competition for the position than he did. At the time I thought he just got suckered into the Bell hype from Ronny because that's Ronny's boy. But when you look at Gettleman's history and commentary on the position as a whole, as I stated earlier in the thread, I just don't think he values the offensive line all that much. Which is dumb.
  20. I feel like past is prologue is viable system of belief here.
