NHL Olympics Thread (Or just Olympics in general)
HeelsPanthersCanes replied to KingKucci's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
I just can't get into the Winter Olympics like I do for the Summer games. I'm excited for the Hockey now that NHL guys are playing again. Bummed I'll be traveling for work and at a convention all day every day for all of the USA's group round games in the afternoons. Gold Medal Game is Sunday 2/22 at 7:10am (my time). If that's US vs Canada, that's an awful long day of drinking. Thanks @DavidEng for posting the schedule! -
This game was the exact reason I was pissed when the Hornets didn't trade for Jaren Jackson Jr. Have been saying all year Moussa is going to get dominated by any center with any ounce of muscle and skill. That was put on full display tonight. He didn't score, and had a -13 (+/-) rating. Meanwhile, Duren was on his way to a 20 & 10 game and a +15 rating before Moussa got them both ejected to stop the embarrassment he was getting handed. Detroit -2.5 was easy money.

Fair point on Canales with Geno. I've just seen zero innovation or crafted gameplans for Bryce from Canales to make me think he can tailor a playbook for someone who isn't the prototypical QB or lacks prototypical knowledge of the position in the NFL. That's why I'm banging the drum so loudly for Cousins, and Flacco as a distant second choice.

Official Carolina Huddle Super Bowl LX Thread

I would not have even known Kid Rock was performing in any capacity if it hadn't been in my prop bets on the gambling site I use. And then I was confused why Bad Bunny would have him as a guest, and then even more confused when Kid Rock never came on. Turning Point USA needs to fire their VP of marketing, unless the strategy was "best kept secret". -
I hear you and also think he's a scumbag. But no one wants him, so you're not getting anything for him, and his talent is rare unless you're drafting top 3. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don't.

Same, went 11 wins and 13 loses on stupid prop bets (gatorade, coin flip, bad bunny, etc). Hit +300 on opening kickoff touchback, so that offset the 2 losses to pull me even. But hit over 28.5 total in game live for the same $150. On this today. Will probably hedge Arizona if everything else goes to plan.

No. Morgan, Canales, and staff are not capable of reclamation projects. Get a guy in here who knows how to play the position at a high level. We'd be the division favorites, and capable of competing with anyone in the playoffs. Also, have to hit on first and second round picks, which we haven't done historically. Hopefully this is where we get our ILB and LT from.
-
Kirk Cousins or Joe Flacco, then a LT, then anyone who has ever played ILB not named Rozeboom

Get the sharp money on the Panthers now, before we sign Kirk Cousins.

College Basketball 2025

He had a good game. Playing his ass off would've resulted in him having 35 points and 10 rebounds. He literally didn't touch the ball in an impactful way for the first 10 minutes of the game He's an amazing player, but there is no debating that he doesn't have that "Rasheed" in him. Some of it is our coaching staff, but a lot of it is Caleb. If you're going to lead the team out of the tunnel, lead them when you're on the court too. He's the best player in college basketball. If someone helps him realize it's OK to be an asshole for 2 hours a day in practice and games, we'll win the national championship. -

Great player, but he isn't built like that. Watch how many possessions he is 30 feet from the hoop or taking plays off on offense. I don't think I've seen him post aggressively, demand the ball aggressively, and then be aggressive with his teammates if they don't give it to him all season. He's amazing skill wise; he leaves a lot to be desired in the "will to win" department. Some of that is coaching (head coach is a bitch), some of that is kids today, and some of that is probably him realizing he is playing with a bunch of dudes that are so below him he doesn't bother. -

Took Hubert 9 minutes to realize Caleb Wilson should get more touches. Then he scored 17 points in the final 11 minutes of the half. I never noticed it until tonight, but Hubert Davis' edge up is in the shape of a cul-de-sac. Never trust anyone who let's their barber do that to them. -

Tepper Giving An Interview on Pat McAfee Show

Gets on a show that is completely overt that they are a "Football First Show" and this dipshit spends the first few minutes of the show talking about his shitty soccer team before the Panthers ever even get mentioned. -
Yes. It's been widely reported Aaron Glenn is an egomaniac and only wants staff who will not challenge him or tip the scales of power in any direction but his. I'm guessing that has to be one of, if not, the most toxic environments across the four major sport leagues in America.

Lakers 2027 pick will be bottom half, Utah pick in 2027 will be lottery, and who cares about a 2031 pick. Add in the fact that unless you are picking in the top 5, the odds of landing a superstar like Jarren Jackson Jr are slim at best. Even if you pick in the top 5, the odds to get someone as good as him NOW, is slim. Based on what the Jazz gave up, we could've given up 2 of the 3 2027 firsts we have, and our 2031 first, plus whatever bums off the bench make the contracts work like the Jazz did. This was a deal the Hornets could've easily done, without given up any of their studs. You replace Moussa with Jaren Jackson Jr in the starting lineup, and this team is a top 3 or 4 team in the East. Our front office failed us once again. -

I despise LaMelo, I think he's a clown and doesn't play through being hurt. But he's the best player on the court when he's on the court. I think Brandon Miller is an absolute beast. But like I mentioned in my previous post, LaMelo would be the first pick of every GM in the league if they had to start a team from scratch with a Hornet. -

Jaren Jackson Jr to the Jazz. He's got to be hating life now. Goes from a down trodden franchise in a city where you can at least enjoy yourself, to a down trodden franchise in the least fun location in the NBA. Wonder if the Hornet's inquired about him. Jazz got him for next to nothing. -
And now the NFL is re-evaluating the Rooney Rule after not a single Black hire across 10 jobs. Roger Goodell is an absolute doofus. $64 million dollars to have the worst officials, worst owners, and worst players agreement in all of professional sports. Hope he writes a book on how to be a billionaire and a dipshit at the same time. I'd love that life.
