Panthers @ Jets - Team Stats
HeelsPanthersCanes replied to ProcessBlue2's topic in Carolina Panthers
Winless, pissed off, embarrassed Jets team in their home stadium after going to London. Panthers riding high, coming off a huge win, traveling to a city where there's a ton of distractions. This spot is perfect for the Jets unfortunately. -
I get what you're saying. And don't disagree, but .... It's week 6. I could see if it's week 13 or 14 and we're eliminated from the playoffs. By not watching, you missed a pretty epic game and finish. The fun me and about 40 other Panther fans had at the bar far outweighs the frustration I have with the front office. And not trying to win for a higher draft pick isn't applicable to this staff. They've proven whether we pick 1st or 31st they will most likely mess it up. I also haven't seen any QB in college that is a no-miss pick this year. This post, and my positive spirit expires in 7 days when we lose at the Jets. Haha.

Yea, I was saying to a friend this weekend after beating Oregon that if I was IU's leadership Cignetti wouldn't get off the team plane when it lands in Bloomington until he was LOCKED into a lifelong contract. There are very few schools that could afford Cignetti's buy out this early in his contract - Penn State is one of them.
-
I don't use the term LOL, but this made me legit chuckle audibly. Nicely played, forgot about the Jay-Z model.
-
No, he got beat at home by Michigan this year. The other five wins are against Big Ten and Non-Power bottom feeders. He's 0-7 vs ranked teams, and each year Nebraska has started strong and then faded in conference play. Nebraska is 1-7 in two Novembers under Rhule. This year their November slate is USC, @UCLA, @Penn State and Iowa. Very possible they lose all of those games. His tenure at Nebraska is looking very Baylor-esque. And somehow he's still a front runner for the Penn State job. Which would be ironic since they just ran a very Matt Rhule like (as far as can't beat any good teams) James Franklin out of town.

What's the temperature in Charlotte today? Black helmets seem like it should be a late November, December thing when your team isn't getting crushed by the sun. I may be over thinking it, which I know no one in the Panthers organization ever does.

This aged very poorly after a day at the State Fair. Only thing worse than being around Longhorn fans is being around Longhorn fans after they win. Hope to have some get back today against the Cowboys.
-
Horns down, so far so good.

Playing Army, Navy or Air Force in the middle of the season is the kiss of death for any school that doesn't have the natural talent to overcome the option scheme. One week of practice isn't enough to prepare for stopping their offense for a roster like Charlotte's. There's a reason those military schools win 8+ games (almost) every year while having minimal football talent on their rosters.

Being in Atlanta would be worse than being in Dallas. Haha. Luckily there is a great Panthers bar here with like 40(ish) fans who are from the Carolinas or a fan of the team.

Texas / Oklahoma and the Texas State Fair. Over under on calories (liquid and solid) I consume today is 8750.5.
-
Now take your situation with Cowboys fans, multiply by infinity stupidity, and you'll know my pain living in Dallas. Haha.

No, I don't. Regardless of the strategy or direction current media goes, doesn't change the fact that literally every question asked in that video was dumb and not interesting. And saw your post earlier about your parents, blessings to you remembering them and enjoying the game on your mom's anniversary this Sunday!
-
Every question asked was stupid or common sense. "do you like run blocking" (no dummy, but it's my job), "how would it feel to be 3-0 at home" (ummm better than 2-1), "can you use Diggs aggression against him" (ummmm like in what way, like put a banana peel on the field, hope he doesn't see it and slips on it?). And then obviously Newton's lack of knowledge XL's father passing. Hard to believe there are journalism schools out there, and this is what they produce.

Define "short term".

As a person who has defended Belichick as a late hire, with no time to recruit or attract transfers, I'd like to apologize. I still think those things are true, but the circus that UNC Football has turned into is comically tragic. I'm officially grabbing my pitchfork and torch. There are a hundred ways this staff and GM could address this season and make it not look as bad. Instead, they've chosen every way to make it look even worse than it is.

cam Newton makes his return to Madden football
HeelsPanthersCanes replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Never was a video game person. Long time ago, one of the few times I played Madden, I did Live at my buddy’s house waiting for him to get ready for us to go party. A 9 year old kid mercilessly beat me by like 70, and told me about it the entire time. I was kinda proud of the kid for what a prick he was. -
Did the Panthers get Mike McDaniel fired now?
HeelsPanthersCanes replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
A coach and GM would never survive a year or two after making that trade. You’d lose the locker room on top of losing the majority of games. If he ends up being injury prone that isn’t a coach’s / GM’s fault. If anything you’d be more likely to keep your job if he’s injury prone as it gives you an out for the season(s) spinning down the drain. -

Nate Tice Nails the Limitations of the Offense

I don't disagree, but the way today's game is coached and ref'd DBs are at a huge disadvantage. To me that puts the difference between being elite and being good enough to survive in the league as marginal. Look at Sauce Gardner, he's completely crippled by the rules, which is why he leads the league in penalties. Chris Gamble was a stud for us. He would never see the field today as he'd be a 5 yard and automatic first down liability on every play. -

Brown is elite at what he does, stuffing the run and taking on (sometimes multiple) blockers. He offers no value rushing the passer or tracking the ball/player outside of his area. He's not a game changer/difference maker. Noone is game planning around Derrick Brown on Tuesdays. Horn is very good, not elite. T-Mac, too early to tell, looks promising. I do agree his ceiling is being lowered by Bryce's floor. -

Who are they? Who on this team would you give up two first round picks for? -

Trust me, if we had anyone on this roster who another team thought could help them get over the hump, they'd call and we'd listen. But we don't, so they won't. Stop fooling yourself that there is a single difference maker on this roster. -

Let's see at the trade deadline when we should be sellers how many 1st and 2nd round picks are being thrown our way.
