  1. The idea that any city in Europe could or would support a full time NFL team is laughable. It works now because it's a novelty for locals there. It's why they keep moving it to new countries and cities each year. Although it is worth noting the Panthers are undefeated all time in international games.
  2. Crazy to me fans would already be looking forward to the future draft of a team who hasn't drafted a true impact player in 15 years.
  3. He ruined his entire analysis by ending it with "they're close, there's some good players there..." No we aren't and no there isn't.
  4. Changed this for you so it's still accurate next week.
  5. Allowable is the operative word here. If you think Georgia, Penn State and similar programs are only spending $20M on players, Eric Dickerson's Trans Am would like a word with you.
  6. You threw out some random what if scenario that has nothing to do with what anyone was talking about. So I did the same thing.
  7. Agree with this entire post. My "looking at strike three" comment was referring to Mack's last few years where he was on cruise control.
  8. Definitely swung and missed, so far. Better than looking at strike 3, which is what Mack was for years.
  9. If my aunt had a dick, she'd be my uncle. UNC is 30th in NIL budget, "buying any player" isn't realistic.
  10. Dan Mullen I could get with. Matt Entz is a complete unknown. The one thing neither of those two would've done is have UNC football constantly on Sportscenter, Pat McAfee, 60 Minutes, etc. over the course of the spring and summer. That isn't translating to wins, so it means nothing, but at the time the coverage was excellent PR and excitement for the program. Mendoza's little brother plays at Indiana. As soon as he was told he wouldn't start at Georgia (the only other school he legit considered) he was never going anywhere but Indiana, which is why he was cheap. Cignetti is making $9M a year if you include his retention bonus. So that doesn't solve your paying a coach big money issue. And to buy him out would cost UNC a literal fortune, which doesn't help your resources argument. I appreciate you at least answering the question finally.
  11. Why would I be here if I wasn't interested in other fans of my favorite team's opinions. Your opinion is Bill Belichick and the Tarheels suck, and I agree with that presently. Then I asked what you would've done differently given the situation and you said "I don't know". To me your (or anyone's - online or in real life) opinion doesn't really mean anything without some solution or thought behind it.
  12. I'm not, I get it. Still waiting for someone, anyone, to tell me what coach and recruits would've made the UNC situation better. The rabbit hole this has turned into ends with that answer.
  13. So why are you wasting your time on a message board and not running a team?
  14. OK. Done arguing with you. You're upset Belichick was hired but have no reco on who the better hire would've been. You're upset the roster sucks but have no reco on who the better recruits would've been. You're the guy who gets in an uber, tells the driver he's going the wrong way, and then the driver asks "which way should I go" and you reply "I don't know, just not this way".
  15. Again, who would you have hired and recruited. Revisionist history is for cowards.
  16. You keep speaking in generalities when I'm asking you for specifics. What Nick Saban-esque coach, and Jayden Daniels-esque transfer did this team miss on? We suck, but you can't point to Belichick being a failure (yet) as to the reason we suck. If anything, Mack Brown waiting 3 years too long to retire and then the administration not running his sorry ass out of town after James Madison last year are WAY further to blame for where we are than Belichick. Belichick might turn out to be a terrible hire, but there is ZERO way to know that given the hand he was dealt at the timing it was dealt.
  17. Noone is arguing with you that the roster is awful, but .... You still haven't answered the question.... With $10M who would you have hired and what recruits would you have brought in? Until you show some other plan that would've led to 9 or 10 wins, stop bitching.
  18. That was my point. @LinvilleGorge was acting like there was some magic hire or recruit the administration or Belichick missed. Unreal how much coaches leading awful programs are making. Cal, Va Tech, Houston, Maryland, Virginia and many others are paying their coaches $5M+ a year.
  19. It's December 12th, 2024. You have $10MM, you have to hire a coach, then you can divvy up the rest of the money in NIL. Who do you hire and what players would you have gotten in the portal with what's leftover?
  20. Will address each comment separately ... "5 Year Hole": If that happens, it's no different than where we were anyways when Mack refused to retire 2-3 years ago. BB may not work out, but at least the administration swung for the fences. Who else would you have hired in mid December last year? Think about how bad our talent is now, and then multiply that by 10 with what some low level assistant we plucked from wherever would've been able to bring in with no time and no budget. "Sticking Around / Son as HC": I have to imagine if BB quits before any success, that wouldn't bode well for his son sticking around. The fan base, alumni and administration aren't going to want to be reminded every Saturday when we are getting beat by William & Mary that there is a Belichick on the sideline. "Pivot": In my opinion, there are only two pivots to make if Belichick doesn't work. 1) Dump a truckload into football NIL, although not sure that's even feasible or 2) Take all that football NIL, dump it into being a dominant basketball school again, and relevant in football once every ten years with the luck of getting a Howell or Maye who are in state Tarheel kids.
  21. How many of those were also without Bridges and/or Miller? How many games did all three of them play together in? That would be a more telling stat - although it's probably still not very good.
  22. I agree this season is off to an absolute poo show, and trending towards a 4 or 5 win disaster, but I'd give Bill at least 3 years to make some improvements. Right now the roster is a joke because of the late start to recruiting and the lack of money spent. If they don't pull in at least 3 or 4 major portal guys going into next season - and especially a QB - then I'll give up all hope for this program eternally. Even when Bill was hired, there was no part of me that thought he would lead to a national championship (ever) because we'll never compete with SEC and Big Ten money to attract elite talent. But I do think Bill could put a program in place that results in 10 wins consistently (given the horrible ACC) and make us at least look like we've seen a football before. That's more than Mack ever did in any season except for one, in his two tenures in Chapel Hill
  23. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/46304114/nba-rank-2025-2026-flagg-beal-reaves-best-players-100-51 Miller at #76, Ball at #63. Draymond at #51 nullifies this whole list. But par for the course for ESPN. Some other really questionable rankings.
