This game really should have been a blow out. If Ginn makes that catch (Officially) that game is over in the 1st qtr. It had the makings of one of the best home games ever but it was still a great win.

Honestly if Smith came back I don't see it being a locker room problem. This team knows who's it's leaders are. Thomas Davis, Keuchly, CJ, and Cam would all power bomb Smitty if he got an attitude.

This 100% Smith only demanded the ball because he knew he was damn good enough to score. Of course he cares about stats. Every great WR has but Smith has never done that at the expense of the team. Personally I think the team could do this anyway it wanted to. We can be successful with him or without him. It would be a great story to have Smith back. I think that plays into the hearts of all of us to an extent. But I also think that Cam Newton might, just maybe be so good that it doesn't matter. If Cam keeps trending up he is reaching Brett Favre level of play. We all see it. Every Sunday. Cam is a special player. And I think he's the type of guy that can make people look better around him. Yes our WRs are underrated but Cam is the reason this all works. At all.

Would love to have 89 back but I think what he has said about the team as a Raven hurts that possibility. Plus Gettleman would be admitting he needs Smitty. Not sure that happens. I think there is a good chance he'll reneg on retirement and come back next year though. Him and KB, plus Olsen and Funchess would be straight nasty.

Is CJ playing?

Upfront no but this defense can overall be better as the secondary is much more balanced. Plus Shaq is starting to come into his own. This is a great low risk trade and I don't think it necessarily indicates that CJ will be out a long time. We needed help regardless of CJ's health. CJ's game is built on strength and work ethic. He's tearing himself apart to be on the field for us right now. Hopefully he'll see less double teams with this move down the road.
