We’re going old school with the end zone font
OneBadCat replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hell yeah -
And still lose with the game on the line.
-
Said GM assembled this line in FA and the draft. Scott’s been nothing but great here so far.
-
But on that note is there much difference between Matt Rhule and Ron Rivera? The situation is eerily similar. Early Ron teams were close to victory too. But he finally figured out he had a cheat code with Cam Newton and a 3rd and short conversion machine.
-
He’s still better than Sam “Try my best then still the throw an INT, then piss my pants” Darnold.
-
Anyone know if he’s had some sessions with Luke?
-
Sure I understand but one thing that gives me some hope is that in each of our losses the plays were there to be made to win the game. I mean if Shi Smith doesn’t drop that slant inside the 10 that’s a TD and momentum play. If he finishes his route and burns the D for a 60yd score then we put the game away. 4 plays made the difference between 1-2 and 3-0 with an offense that’s still finding its groove. Yes we haven’t played the class of the NFC yet but we don’t control who we play. Im not crowning Rhule here but I think you can tell that the team is improved from last year. It’s just the stupid mistakes and maintaining composure we really need to fix. I’m not a fan of some ill timed play calls but this team does have a fighting spirit and they do believe in Rhule it seems.

The Previous Game is Under Review- Any Specific Requests?
OneBadCat replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Im starting to think Baker just doesn’t see the field well at times. Im guessing it’s due to his height but i could be wrong. i think thats why most of our passes are play action and rollouts . -
Yeah but I mean we also dropped two INTs today and their one TD they caught was a fluke catch that would probably be incomplete 7/10 times. My biggest gripe today was not letting Pinero (sp) kick a FG when he was 6/6 for the season and instead going for it on 4th. Also Snow blitzing when we were up two scores and allowing huge gains as a consequence is a problem. We deserved this win today though.
-
You could also argue that things finally rolled our way. I mean we are realistically 2 bullshit calls and one bullshit QB scramble away from 3-0, 2-1 at worst. There’s a lot of parity in the league this year. We may fair better against the “tough teams”’than you think.

The defense can carry the team if this offense can do anything...

I still think Baker is better overall. I think Bakers height is the problem. He physically can’t see the field all the time. That’s why we run so many play actions and roll outs. Where as Sam while being 6’4 will only throw the check downs because he’s chicken poo scared and will be a risk to throw a pick every drive. -
We have a two score lead. There was no reason to blitz. We just got smoked. Now it’s a game again.
-
WHY ARE WE BLITZING WHEN WE DONT HAVE TO
-
Should have kicked the god damn field goal
-
Game over
-
All they had to do was resign Cam and give him the full offseason and we’d be 2-0.
-
So our kicker is 6/6 and we don’t give him a chance to get us up by 3 scores?
-
We need to just take it to half time what the fug are we doing ?
-
Why are we all out blitzing?
-
If I were to give them the benefit of the doubt I wonder if they were trying to set something up by making them think they knew what was coming. But I guess since they did it all game I would be proven wrong lol.
-
No but Cam would probably be great behind this line.

Tally of Everyone Who Believed in Rhule
OneBadCat replied to PantherNation123's topic in Carolina Panthers
The easiest and smartest play was keeping Cam. Let him get healthy and have the offseason with the new offense. What’s funny is once we let Cam go we finally signed the pieces he was missing the last 4 years of the Ron era. If we bombed then you get a top QB in the draft and another 2 years on your leash. The belief in Sam Darnold is mind boggling. -
I think Rhule is actually correct. The units are playing much better than last year. But there is no clutch factor, plus the fumbles, the drops, and ill timed mistakes that are robbing us of wins. The plays are there to be made to win the game. But we aren’t executing. Now I’m guessing that still falls under the head coach. He has to find a way to get the guys in the position to get over the hump. But I do think the team is actually better than last year. Dont get me wrong though I can’t stand the losing streak and the ego of Rhule. But if the light is going to come on for the team it will be in the next few weeks. Otherwise it’s a lost cause.
