Using a 3rd or 4th rounder to try and find a long term answer at tackle is pretty much just burning a draft pick. Granted this organization does that no matter what position they draft but still. I keep looking over their 30 visit list and it’s obvious they’re going to do address DT Edge and maybe if that tackle from Minnesota is still there. Like you said safety too. Doesn’t look like we met with Fanin or Taylor. We need a real TE1 too. We’re still a year away from truly competing so I’m of the mindset you take the best player because we lack talent everywhere versus trying to fill holes and over drafting

REPORT: Panthers attempting to move up in the 2nd round
*FreeFua* replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sure how I feel about trading up for a pass rusher that is strictly situational. (Ezeiruka) Would love Will Johnson but that knee must be cooked considering Harbaugh passed on him Like Mike Green the player too but clearly there’s some crap there off the field for him to fall out of first -

Yep I believe it would cost us a future 2nd to jump up to top of the 2nd round -

I mean there’s a very high probability the Panthers are going to move up but this account is hit and miss. Said the Raiders would take Membou. Tweeted out Metcalf to Panthers. -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8

This is a good one to watch for those that don’t like the pick -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8

WR was a huge need for us. Last year we were throwing RZ fades to Diontae Johnson. I expect Tet will make a massive immediate impact down in the RZ where this offense struggled big time A smooth moving natural hands catcher that actually knows how to high point a ball. Top 10 picks should be used on QB’s, WR’s, edge rushers and OT’s. Can argue corner as well. Unless you just don’t like McMillan as a prospect there’s is no reason not to love this pick -
Jesus what a disappointing list but this team didn’t get to where they are by drafting well so not surprising one bit

Called that one

God forbid this is the way the Draft shakes out

If that’s how the first 7 go then they’re taking McMillan at 8 -
Isaiah Simmons is still a free agent 6'4 240
*FreeFua* replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nah Simmons wasn’t in play Henderson and Lamb were the other 2 very real possibilities I think they knew they’d have to jump the Chargers if they wanted Herbert -
Seeing these new contracts for edges, WR’s and corners you’d be smart to draft one of those for sure but holy f*ck is it ever stupid to take a developmental player in the top 10. So he takes 2-3 years to develop and you lose a lot value in taking a guy that plays one of those positions Develop him and benefit from 1-2 cheap years before having to back up the brinks truck

Panthers Top 15 Paid Players at Position
*FreeFua* replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Man when Horn is healthy there aren’t many corners I’d take over him. The problem is Evero. I really don’t know why we’re paying Jaycee all this money for him to play cover 3 half the game. Complete waste of his ability -
They cannot afford to whiff on this Tershawn signing. He better produce for what they’re paying. I don’t believe for a second there was another team offering anything close to this

Steve Palazzolo and Sam Monson on Panthers free agency

It’s not rocket science. Low cap hits this year with big cap hits next year and then every year this place wonder how we’re always cap strapped
-
Why?
-
The Jets literally signed Fields to keep Wilson happy for a year
-
Regardless, Dan overpaid I like Moehrig but he ended up with the highest contract for a safety. Patrick Jones has no business getting the deal he did. People look at sack numbers and that’s silly. It was the same thing as Wonnum. I went and looked at a few of his sacks and like Wonnum’s he benefitted from being the free rusher on a blitz It’s so important that they’re smart with their money as we get into Young’s prime years. We got into cap trouble with Cam and I really don’t want to watch that whole story repeat itself
-
So many times I’d rather them just not sign anyone and carry over cap space. We aren’t winning the SB next year. So at this point unless you’re signing an actual difference maker don’t bother This is why I was fine paying DK 30 million a year. Otherwise they’re just going to burn it on crap anyways. At least someone like DK impacts our entire offense as a whole and defenses game plan for him. I can promise you no one is game planning for Patrick f’n Jones or Tershawn Watson

I keep checking them specifically for this Wharton deal. I’m honestly scared

https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/44208027/2025-nfl-free-agency-best-worst-most-surprising-moves-contracts-daniel-jones-colts-geno-smith-seahawks Guess who “won” the panic award? Real shocker. Easily the worst contract handed out on defense
-
Also there’s no way that Patrick Jones II isn’t a massive overpay as well
-
3yr 31.5 with 22gtd… Wharton deal for sure an overpay and now after seeing what the other safeties got Moehrig was an overpay But he showed restraint with Milton and Metcalf, actual difference makers
