  1. I think we proved having the no 1 pick isn’t a guarantee of success, and you really have confidence in this organization to not screw it up again?
  2. I feel like it’s Stillman’s to lose. Morrow could certainly earn it, but I think Rod is going to prefer a Vet, and Stillman playing half the year last year I think he’ll have the edge. Just my opinion though.
  3. It begins today. 46 Hockey players were in the Lenovo Center for the first day of training camp. We're getting closer to hockey boys! Thought this was interesting as the first pairs of PP groups: PP1: Aho, Jarvis, Necas, and Svechnikov with Gostisbehere PP2: Drury, Kotkaniemi, and Roslovic with Burns and Orlov Looks like Necas is going to get a shot. 4. You’re not the only one. I was 12 when they played their first game, but man it’s hard. I’m to the point I don’t want to buy tickets or Panthers gear just because I know the money goes in his pockets. More so than the embarrassment of wearing Panthers gear would bring at the moment.
  5. I don’t blame him one bit. Even worse was the danger of another concussion. Just wasn’t worth it.
  6. I like that he still says “we” when talking about the Panthers. Miss this dude for sure.
  7. I was thinking the same thing. Only thing I could come up with is the FO was doing some shuffling with who was waiver eligible, and if Matthews wasn't, we kept a player from going to waivers while telling him he was going to be a cut and sign.
  8. Maybe we’re getting close? https://www.si.com/onsi/breakaway/news-feed-page/report-carolina-hurricanes-nearing-deal-star-seth-jarvis
  9. I hear Hope is making a comeback. Until the water is frozen in PNC it’s all we got. All kidding aside, it was refreshing to see us look like a pro team yesterday, but I’m with you dude. Im a skeptic until I see 1v1s in a game that matters. Tapper’s beaten the hope outta me. As another aside, I’m really liking Dave Canalas. For all our sake I hope he’s very successful here.
  10. Who is now the highest paid kicker league, btw. It’s a kick in the nuggets for me still every time I watch him kick.
  11. Carolina has signed Jacob’s younger brother Josiah to a two-year two-way contract. https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/canes-sign-josiah-slavin-to-two-year-contract
  12. So I was just looking at this and thought that would be a possibility. I'll take it. This was as 3:45PM: Here are some of the players who remain on the UFA market that could sign at some point Monday or shortly after: Sean Walker, D Shayne Gostisbehere, D Ryan Suter, D Vladimir Tarasenko, F Adam Henrique, F Mattias Janmark, F Jeff Skinner, F Daniel Sprong, F James van Riemsdyk, F Tyler Johnson, F Jack Roslovic, F Alex Wennberg, F Cam Atkinson, F Tomas Tatar, F Kyle Okposo, F
  13. Friedman also reported Jordan Martinook is returning to the Carolina Hurricanes on a three-year contract with a $3.05 million AAV. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-free-agency-live-blog
  14. Tyler Bertuzzi AND Teuvo Teravainen are signing with the Chicago Blackhawks when the market opens, according to Chris Johnston of TSN and The Athletic. https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-free-agency-live-blog Edit: And this one sucks to hear: The Predators are on target to be the team of the day if they get both Stamkos and Marchessault, and then Skjei as well.
  15. "The Carolina Hurricanes are expected to sign forward Eric Robinson to a one-year deal with a cap hit just below $1M, per David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period. Robinson spent last season with the Buffalo Sabres, where he recorded nine points across 40 games." https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nhl/hurricanes-expected-to-sign-eric-robinson/ar-BB1pdljq

  17. Let's go boys! Wipe the ice with those Rags!! Go Canes!
  18. I’d love to understand the reasoning with Comtois. If you wanted a goon, why wouldn’t you have Brendan Lemieux suit up?
  19. I just don’t understand why we had all 4 guys on the right side of the net. No one covered the net front.
