  1. Colin Jones is a defensive back. By putting him in a position where he succeeded, you're not stealing him from safety. Boston was decent last year but Harper is trash and safety is by far a bigger need than corner. Not even worth debating. Harper should stay on the team and be a mentor but should not be starting. And Colin wasn't just "decent" he was a huge part of our defense's success at the end of the season and was arguably as good overall as Bene was. Not as good in coverage but he is always right at the ball and has great instincts for nickel. Bene is already a better outside corner than most in the league and I know many are skeptical of Josh, but he is the real fuging deal and is a top 10 corner. Corner is not a need at all, as both our starters are above average relative to the rest of the league and are young. Jones was not succeeding at safety. He played amazingly at nickel. He's not in our plans at all at safety. Tre Boston was solid for the most part but got absolutely burned numerous times in both Seattle games. He's promising but he's far from the sure thing that Norman and Bene are. Harper is trash in coverage and an upgrade is immediately needed there. DeCoud will likely be cut. As for DE, our whole defensive philosophy is around rushing the passer and stopping the run. Ealy is on the right track but isn't there yet and is a liability against the run and even rushing the passer at times. I love Big Frank's intensity and he's a beast rushing the passer but we have no idea where he stands right now. We need elite DEs to get the most out of out defensive schemes, and you know how Gettleman values pass rushers. I guarentee you he sees DE as a bigger need than CB. If we were to keep Hardy, even if just for a year, that would change, but as it stand right now, DE is big need. And as for DT, it's not just "bench depth." KK and Star don't play all the snaps, particularly KK. If Cole and Dwan are both gone we lose a ridiculous amount of production. There were games both of them played more snaps than KK. Our DT rotation is extremely important for keeping fresh legs and changing up the line. And back to our defensive philosophy.... Stop the run, rush the passer. Starts at the line. And any CB we bring in would just be "bench depth" so I don't see why you think CB is such a huge need and DT isn't a need at all. I expect we bring back one of Cole and Dwan but that hasn't happened yet, so as of now DT is a bigger need than corner.
  2. Top 3 by far are OT, WR, and safety. Then I, and many others, would argue that DE, DT depth and OLB are all bigger needs than corner if we lockup Norman (which we will). Bene will start outside with Colin Jones back at nickel. Jones is a beast in that buffalo package and it fits his skill set insanely well. Our defense is built around pressure on the QB and stopping the run. So DT depth since we have no one in the rotation now behind Star and KK, and DE which was elite with Hardy but wasn't last year at all, are way more important than CB. And CJ could be gone soon if we can't workout a way to get his cap hit down then DE becomes by far our biggest need (assuming we've addressed OT). Ealy has shown some promise but is very far from a sure thing, Horton and Addison are trash, and no one knows what will happen with Big Frank.
  3. He's already said he won't take a deal like Dalton's or Kaepernick's. And to say they are on par with each other is ridiculous. Cam has carried his offense every year with trash around him. Dalton sucks even with an elite WR, solid TEs, amazing run game and amazing offensive line every year. And we want to be handcuffed to Cam (just not at a too high cap hit per year). He's our guy until he retires. Offering him a deal like Dalton's would be insulting.
  4. DA probably "has Jerry Richardson's ear."
  5. NFLPA could argue events occurred before policy changed, and Rice only got a 2 game suspension so if Hardy gets suspended at all it can't be more than 2 games.
  6. Please please please JR and G-man bring this man back. Hardy, another top notch draft, decent FA OT signing and I think we'd have our best chance at a Super Bowl in years.
  7. There should be a minimum number of years on the Huddle to qualify. No offense Lola...
  8. We were better than our record at the end of the year but it could easily be argued the Texans and Colts were both better than every NFCS team. Bucs technically were worse than the Raiders and Titans, though all 3 are just pure trash. Aints and Falcons are trash too so I think NFCS still takes the cake for worst. I have a weird feeling we sweep the Souths.
  9. Did his account ever even tweet it or did dexterity fake that screenshot?
  10. So which one of us is the retard?
  11. Neither Winston or Mariota are worthy of the #1 overall pick, but they're going to take one of them. I don't have any worries about any NFC South team next season. Honestly feel it could be an easy 5 or 6 wins.
  12. I think I'm the only one who realizes there's work involved in being a mod. Everybody else here is a lazy motherfuger, you don't want them. i realize there's work, but I wouldn't do it. (still better than those other tools)
  13. Jeremy, if you make a Aints fan a mod I will never come to this site again.
  14. Torrey Smith is not our answer for #2 receiver. He is going to get overpaid, and frankly, isn't that good. Maclin would be a huge signing but there's literally zero chance we could sign him, and that's assuming the Eagles don't lock him up, which they will.
  15. He's not a "average kr/pr" he was a better WR for us in 2013 than anybody except KB this past year. And he's a top 10 return man easily. Main thing though is value. He would be one of the most valuable signings we'd get. Yeah I'd much rather have Cobb or Maclin but not for the prices they'll demand. I'm being realistic here. Ginn would be a great re-acquisition.
  16. Torrey Smith is a deep threat just like Ginn. Having them both wouldn't help. Smith is a better receiver but Ginn has the return ability. I'd much much much rather sign Ginn than Smith and would be pissed if we signed both. I want us to take a chance on Nicks, sign Ginn and draft 2 more WRs, then we wouldn't have to worry about it. Then we'd still likely have money for Free, Bulaga, or Dunlap or some FA veteran tackle.
  17. If I could choose any FA for us to sign (including all the tiffany's purchases) it would be Teddy Ginn. Next up would be Hardy (he would be first if he would truly come here for vet min.), but Ginn would be a huge re-acquisition for us this offseason, and relatively cheap. We'd still need a #2, which we could get in the draft, but then we'd have a beast of a speedster who Cam loves as our #3, a true return man, and a guy who actually has some chemistry here. I have a tough time seeing the Cards keep him with the emergence of John Brown, to be honest, so I really really hope this happens.
  18. He could be at the facilities but couldn't practice with the team or participate in any workout and he could not be at games on the sideline. Same as Gordon when he was suspended this year.
  19. It was a 'paid' suspension. He wasn't allowed to participate with the team just as a normal suspension.
  20. She's going to be really really fat in time.
