  1. I know it's underwear Olympics, but I went from 6 to midnight watching this one.
  2. Ok, here goes: This team, this city is something special. It's a place where anything is possible but nothing is given. Over the course of this franchise's story we've seen so much. This game, this moment, feels like a culmination of what has been sacrificed by the organization, the players and the fans. These players have sold out for this season, never giving up. Always believing in their ability to overcome all obstacles. To be present in that stadium during that moment would be incredible. To be able to look at my kids 20 years from now and say, "See that big guy on the sideline that Hall of Famer there with the childish-smile? I saw him play. I saw him raise his team, his city to another level it wasn't even certain it could attain." That would be awesome. I don't know that I'm more deserving than anyone else. I love this team for all of it's character, personality, success and failure. I'd be honored to be there representing every single fan of this team, and represent I would.
  3. You're leaving out the fact that we owe them for our last playoff matchup. It's just as much revenge for us as for them.
  4. Not so much made of this, but I think it turned out to be huge. MIN's kicker/punter/snapper got to test out some things in the cold this week. Get familiar with it a bit (even just 10 kicks more could be huge). SEA didn't seem confident it their kicking game at all while MIN is out there kicking from 45+.
  5. I'll take RW taking 10-12 shots in below zero temps.
  6. IMO, Pete coaches like HOW he wins is as important as THAT he wins. That's why you seem them still trying to chuck those floaters downfield.
  7. Agreed. They need to just grind on SEA. Even if they have a few 0 yard plays or negative. Just keep running between the tackles. AP will find a crease.
  8. I think they have to stick with it though. SEA is keying on AP. They've kind of got the plan to stop AP and make Teddy and the rest of the crew beat them. Vikings need to have a Panthers mentality in this game and just keep running whether you gain 0 yards or 4. It'll average out. Minimize RW's time on the field. Try to win a 13-10 game.
  9. The game will sit on the OL for the Vikes being able to do just enough to get a hat on a hat. AP can do the rest. Get him 30+ touches today and grind.
  10. Interesting comment by Rodney Harrison on the pregame. He was talking about Michael Bennett and the concept of pressure...Bennett says there's no pressure for the Seahawks and that pressure resides in Carolina. Hmmm, Mike. We're not playing today. Pressure sits squarely on you, my friend.
  11. Is it possible that McClain can be better than Peanut on a partially torn ACL? I think so. I love Peanut and what he brings and if he were healthy then obviously this would be a non-question, but I have to believe that a guy who (although not really experienced) is better suited to run, jump and cut. If nothing else maybe teams try to go at McClain and he rises to the occasion or our staff can use that to our advantage.
  12. Hardy might have insights but he was late to roughly 98% of team meetings while he was in Charlotte.
  13. Don't worry about it. We just print them off each week and send them to the our Panthers insider and he puts the comments on the bulletin board in the locker room.
  14. Agreed. I wondered about some zone blitz against a rookie QB, seems like we might have the personnel to excuse that approach with Addison and Allen. Gotta figure that this coaching staff is going to do everything they can to get the pass rush going with the DL, but I hope they're not so stubborn not to mix it up a bit. I know it's "the Bucs" but today's a BIG game.
  15. I think this team has finally learned how to beat the teams it's supposed beat. In the past, this team has tried to be something RS not against lesser teams and ended up on the wrong side of the score. Now, you see that every player has bought into the identity and seem to play comfortably in that identity. For me, playing a team like this (one that we should beat handily, on paper) is the best way to start this season. Taking care of business, our way, will be the key to this game. Stay the course, keep pounding. Panthers 24 Jaguars 10
  16. My goal is to win this photo and place it on my side of the bed, maybe then, my wife will roll over to see the photo.
  17. PLEASE let them try that dunk and dunk quick pass offense. Like, TD and Shaq will make a mess of that with the sideline to sideline speed. Luke is literally with the receiver when the ball gets there in those plays.
  18. REALLY like this projection and could most definitely get behind it. I think that "going young" wouldn't be all that bad for this team, since there are vets and supporting cast in every position group to get the young guys over the hump. Because of RR's commitment to veteran players, I don't see something to this extent, but they way DG sees the makeup of a team (in his 5-year plan) I could see some of these changes happening. We get younger, cheaper and these young UDFAs get valuable experience and it becomes their team.
  19. Good stuff. For those keeping score...most of the players in the article are "found" guys by DG. This is how you build a sustainable team and can recover when you lose a player like KB regardless of offense or defense. Excited for this year, I really think with the addition of Coleman, Peanut and the experience for Bené and Trey AND Josh looking like he's ready for the breakout year we've all been waiting for. This secondary is going to be a strength of the team for the first time in a long time. Let's Go! Wooooooo!
  20. Completely agree with Jeremy. Heard a bunch of analysts call us a "nightmare mismatch" and losing a 6'5" 238 lb receiver hurts that, but we still can create some mismatches, but they won't be as obvious as KB versus a smaller DB. Our Offensive Coordinator is going to have to scheme receivers open, we're going to have to complete the easy passes (short/timing routes) and then when the opportunity presents itself to punish a team with a deep ball, we've got to complete it. We were NEVER going to throw the ball all over the field. Running the ball is our foundation and I believe that for us to be successful, we've gotta hammer teams between the tackles.
  21. The optimist in me hopes that KB felt something and it scared him, so team felt the bad ju-ju and took him off the field to get checked out. BUT, I know how it looked on video. Everyone hold your breath.
  22. Not knowing what the purpose or "play" was here, I would say that Oher did his job. He stayed in front of Frank. Not having a QB there to react to the pass rush hinders both the rusher and the blocker because neither have anything to play off of. All I can go off of is Oher's feet which look quick. Good first look to me but what do I know?
  23. Would love to see all 3 of these guys make the roster. I am especially intrigued by what having a TRUE fullback in place could do for this offense. We already have the ability to run out of the zone-read and this would only give defenses another formation to plan for. I would love to see Stew behind a fullback and having to make only one read and get up field.
  24. Seriously could listen or read GMan's quotes all day. Seems like such a straight shooter. Not that he's going to tell you everything or be right all the time, but you know what you're going to get from him and he's not going to sugar coat it. His comment on Fozzy specifically says a lot to me about what he thinks of Fozzy. Side note: saw GMan walking his dog down East Blvd. in Charlotte a month or so ago...what kind of dog you ask? Border Collie...somehow, I'm not surprised.
