  1. Maybe just maybe a need outweighs the BPA It's not a coincidence almost every mock draft had us picking a WR
  2. So Hurney also went by the BPA motto? And you show me where the plan was for Beason to get hurt and Luke takeover his position. Luke was drafted to play OLB
  3. We drafted Star which was a need, we drafted Benjamin who was a need. Almost every draft expert had us picking a DT in 2013 and WR in 2014. All I'm saying is we seem to draft for need more than often. We also can't get ahead of ourselves, our goal is to win the SB next season (isn't it?) we can't be thinking of what's going to happen in 2016. I want guys who can help reach our goal next season.
  4. Long term is for the mid round picks who are not ready to contribute right away.
  5. Actually he did, if I recall Davis was coming off another injury and they plugged in Luke at OLB until Beason got hurt
  6. Neither Gurley or any corner taken would contribute to extent of a WR or OT. Those guys would be fighting to get snaps
  7. I would understand that logic if we were the raiders and had nothing to look forward too next season, but we are trying to win next season we need someone that can contribute immediately.
  8. Have you checked the forum lately? Apparently we need a CB and a RB in the first round.
  9. So if a Mariota is available should we draft him? What about another DT? Some of you are taking this whole BPA thing out of context. The last two first rounds we drafted for need. Cam would have never been a panther by some your guys logic. We are not in the panthers war room during the draft so who are we to say this guy is the BPA.
  10. If your O-line can't block a rookie RB isn't gonna produce, much less make this team deadly. Gurley doesn't make this team better, drafting a receiver does.
  11. Different times, the league is becoming more pass heavy every year. Mcgahee sat out a whole season if I recall, panthers are trying to win right now. We shouldn't be waiting to see if a player is fully healthy. Before start bringing up Lynch keep in mind the Seahawks didn't draft him, the patriots just won a SB without a feature back, the ravens won it with a 3rd round back. I'm not going to sugar coat it I would hate if we draft a rb in the first 2 rounds
  12. Why do people keep bringing up Luke? Gettleman wasn't even in Carolina when Luke got drafted
  13. Yes I'll be pretty upset The only rb worth a first round pick is AP maybe Marshawn. People keep saying this RB class is deep so why draft one in the first? And that's a guy coming off injury.
  14. The question he asked was were they winning before those FA signings, and I replied Seattle wasn't. What does this have to do with the draft? Everyone knows the main source of building a team is through the draft but SB winning teams like I mentioned above seem to spend in FA more than those mid tier teams.
  15. UGA RB haven't exactly been lighting the NFL on fire either, and last year they replaced Gurley with a true freshman and he seem to produce just as good.
  16. Next years class is just as good, the two Bama backs, the two razorbacks, the kid from Pitt and the OSU RB, that's from top of my head there are probably more.
  17. We had enough money to sign Shorts, we also have enough to sign Crabtree. And since next year we have a ton of cap space we can always backload a contract, which would barely even smidge next years cap.
  18. That's the thing neither Ingram or Spiller has done much thus far in their career. Spiller has been out played by UDFA Fred Jackson, while Ingram got out played by Thomas, Ivory and Sproles. All I'm saying is the rb position is interchangeable I'm ok with Fozzy getting more carries and sharing the load with Tolbert if Stewart gets hurt. And if next season we get rid of Stewart we can draft a rb next year. We don't have to get ahead of ourselves always thinking about the future
  19. Neither McCoy or Murray went in the first round. And both Spiller and Ingram weren't worth their first round billing, both have also been out produced by guys drafted in lower rounds. I think for now we are ok at the rb position.
  20. Meh Running backs are a dime of dozen, you can pick one up as an UDFA and still produce. And theirs always next years draft. I think we have much bigger needs Gurley doesn't blow me away to be honest.
