  1. It’s a huge risk to keep him this year. His main value is this cheap year. After the deadline, his value drops. And who knows what a new coach/staff will want to do. If they want to move on without him, his value probably drops to a 3rd at best. If he doesn’t get hurt again. Take a late first or early second and do what most teams do. Draft quality young cheap RBs.
  2. But magically, immediately after the draft, every team had a 1st round grade on their top 2-3 picks. Of course they did…lol
  3. You mean besides the 18.5M in dead cap already accrued?
  4. Chase is an absolute beast. I’d take him over any skill position player in the NFL. That’s about 80M combined salary when the time comes to sign them.
  5. That was sarcasm. Of course Mike Brown didn’t build this team. He’s famously inept and has been for a long time. So built a solid roster, chose a good DC, and took his team and 2nd year QB to a SB. How is this a BAD coach again?
  6. That convenient. Everything good is someone else, but anything bad is on him. There’s the Huddle shuffle. Blame anyone who doesn’t fit the narrative. Nicely done. Of course it was the GM that has been there 30+ years and built that Benga dynasty we remember from…..oh wait? This is getting comical.
  7. He’s done well because of the mess he got stuck with. And they were smart enough to still have money to spend on OL when their QB took of. He lost week one because Burrow had 5 TOs and his K missed an extra point to win game. Other than that. two road losses to DAL and BAL by 5 points combined. Should we judge on the team he built, and the present or what he took over and is long gone?
  8. Half could. But most won’t. That’s not pessimistic. It’s reality. Any starters on the team fit that bill. Late round or failed draft picks who suddenly got much better? You’ve already had a top 8 pick 3 years running. I’d say they’re doing a fine job becoming “the Browns” right now.
  9. What does Robbie have to do with this discussion? This year it was Mcadoo who would fix everything. Sam Darnold just needs to get away from Adam Gase. Joe Brady is a genius…or inept. Maybe y’all should have fired Rhule when Daboli was available. Oops.
  10. I don’t think you know what a good HC is. If you think Taylor isn’t, good luck with this next search and the one 3 years from now. Competitive means two different things to me and you. I’ll leave it at that.
  11. So you’re lesson about the salary cap is “if you hope hard enough, all the players that suck now will be good with a new coach”. Can’t argue with pure fact like that. How does that usually work out for the Panthers?
  12. Your WR are near bottom of the league. One guy is proven and he’s expensive and seemingly lazy. Not one of the others has done anything to show they can start for an NFL team. TE-awful DT- McCall isn’t playing many snaps, if at all, for a team with options. He’s a backup at best. The rest are nothing. Need a starter besides Brown, and some depth. DE- You need players either way. 5 techniques in 3-4. A LDE that can hold up vs Run in 4-3. LB- Assuming Shaq is gone. That leaves Luvu. And……. Fitterer and Morgan were here when this mess was built. Why is it silly to worry about them doing it again?
  13. As I stated earlier…. there are indications that Jones was a mistake.
  14. The same bad HC he made the Super Bowl with? The same team that won aS many without him? And if competitive is losing by 2 possessions, I agree that they can probably achieve that.
  15. Please teach me how the Panthers are going to improve at the multiple positions that need filled. I’ll give you a QB and starting LB(at 32). That leaves…. WR2-3, TE, C, DT, DE, LB and anything representing quality depth. And is it smart for a team to spend all they can while rebuilding so there is no room to improve when/if you hit on a QB?
  16. Once again, do I get to add players to those CLE and NYG teams as well. I thought Baker did ok against the Browns. Gave the team the lead on his last possession. So Burrow was good, and nothing changed as far as team success. See how that works. The Panthers are a couple years away. If they make smart decisions. The idea that a HC/QB is going to make this team a playoff contender next year is laughable. Keep kicking the can for 5 win teams and it will be much longer.
  17. Burrow won 2 of 10 games before he got hurt. Murray was decent and won 5. Jones went to a good team so doesn’t apply. And is already showing signs of being a mistake. Mayfield had to improve a team that finished 0-16 and tanked enough to have plenty of money to build. And an extra top 5 pick. And Baker sure did work out…didn’t he? The Steelers played the Bills and got blown out. What do you think would happen if CAR played the Bills right now? Picking the ONE year they are down to compare this mess to is not applicable. Does CLE get another QB as well when they play again since the Panthers do. What player do the NYG get to add. Makes it hard to compare. Of course all teams have holes. It’s just that not many are sprinting towed a #1 overall pick while being over the cap by 15M next year.
  18. Top ranked rookie means nothing once games start. Besides Hebert, what QB has come out doing very well a a rookie? The Panthers have lost the last 3 games by 2+ scores. Against team in LA and ARI, that can’t beat anyone else. SF got rolled by ATL. Those Steelers just beat TB with their top 3 CBs, Minkah and Watt all out. I can handle a rebuilding year(every 20 years) while a rookie QB gets his bearings. It’s not like I’m a fan of a team that has winning seasons as often as Leap Years. And the Steelers didn’t spend next years money to be in this position. How about the Panthers.
  19. And the Jags had a QB already. They got to take another need with Walker. Plus, unlike the Panthers, they had plenty of cap space to sign Scherff, Kirk, Engram, Williams, Olukan. What caliber of players will the Panthers be signing with their very limited cap space?
  20. If the team is drafting 1st, something is wrong. And there is very little cap “relief”. Even after restructuring and putting themselves in the same position again.
  21. Ok. Cut Shaq and Elf. That about zero. Now 10M for Moton, 18M for Moore , 10M for Burns. Not much else to get. That’s 38-40M. Minus 10M for picks, 8-10M to operate, That leaves 18-20M to improve over worst team in the league. And somehow get cap relief. Whatever that is?
  22. So when they restructure Moton and Moore(or anyone), where does that money come off of? When they Sign Burns with a 6M cap hit, where does all the rest go. Every player you spend money takes away from that 2024 total. Every year it we have plenty. It’s only this year. Wait for two years.
  23. If you think I’m wrong, Al him as well. I’m sure he will tell you the exact same thing. Once again, I never said it didn’t lower the cap. Simply stated that the team wasn’t under. And proved it. You just want to feel better so believe what helps….
  24. The effective cap space is what you need. 10M for picks. 7M for PS and IR, and in-season. Where are you going to improve with two high picks and a bunch of low picks and UDFAs While trying to find a LB, DE, DT, WR2-3, TE, C, and QB while trying to improve the worst team in the league.
