  1. If you don’t have it yet, which no one does, how is it the “literal structure”? So what did you mean by that? And I’m just not the one trying to ignore the 4M owed this year from his first deal. If his cap hit was already 12M this year, before any of this, how is it only 37M over 3 years. 12 and 29.5 is 41.5M. Not 37M. There’s plenty of evidence of my knowledge over the past 5 years. Pick a player that signed over that period. Anyone. And let’s see what I had to say about if it was a good idea. How about you? Got any posts that will show your knowledge on the subject. You can keep saying how you know better? Let’s prove it. Name someone. I’ll show what I said. Then it’s your turn. Do we count how completely wrong you are about this situation which I’ve proven many times already in this thread.
  2. Yes. Teams do this every year. Which means how it is on paper is what matters. The team gave CMC 21M in signing bonus. In one check. Does it matter that he already has the money in his pocket, or how it’s split up on paper over 5 years? Who has reported this “structure”? Where is the press release saying his cap hit is only 37M over the next 3 years. Not reported speculation. I want to see this “literal structure”. Anytime, any player, anything at all to do with the salary cap, I would be more than happy to discuss. I’ve proven my knowledge of the salary cap many times over on here. Let’s see how smart I am compared to you, specifically. Let me know when you want to start.
  3. What was his cap hit before yesterday? Why was it that? How does 4M the team hasn’t accounted for just disappear. It’s almost 15M/yr for two more years. Trying to pick and choose what counts isn’t how the salary cap works. And I didn’t think it was that bad anyhow. I wouldn’t have done it in the Panthers position. I simply said that the 3/37M was BS. And I’ve shown why repeatedly. But I’ve disagreed plenty with the FO decisions of the Panthers. Wonder how those turned out?
  4. No I’m not. You are. And you’re making up numbers to make your point. As clearly shown, he had 12M already this year. Any way you slice it, It’s 29.5M for two years. What happened to the 4M from his first contract? Why do you care he got it? On paper, is all that matters to the team. The team hasn’t accounted for it yet, so it matters.
  5. And he still has 4M of guaranteed signing bonus from his first contract. Just as was posted in the posts right before yours. His cap hit was 12M for this year BEFORE anything signed yesterday.
  6. And that was edited in after my response was written. So what was I supposed to think? You posted opposite statements like I just didn’t say the same thing. Then don’t bring up false info if it don’t matter.
  7. Exactly. So how are you proposing adding 4.5M to this year, thus making the others add up to only 25M. And it stays at 12 or 12.5M? You just typed out the hole in your theory. In your last two posts you have said the exact opposite in each. Nice.
  8. It was?????? Current Contract (UFA, signed 2020) Year Cap Number Dead Money & Cap Savings Cut (pre-June 1)Cut (post-June 1)Trade (pre-June 1)Trade (post-June 1)RestructureExtension Total $20,000,000 2020 $8,000,000 2021 $12,000,000 $4,000,000 $8,000,000
  9. Please show the verified structure that has been released. Just because a guy on the internet guessed(poorly) doesn’t make it true. Once again, his cap hit was 12M before yesterday. How is adding 4.5M going to keep it the same? If not, how are the 2022-23 cap hits totaling 25M? Most reporters have no clue how to report on contracts.
  10. Explain to me how they tore up his current contract? It was 12M cap hit(8M salary + 4M signing bonus left) Adding 4.5M to it doesn’t just bring it to 12.5M. So what awful takes failed to account for this year like you just did. It’s 3/41.5M even if figured that way. And TM is the reason this isn’t a good idea. If he can move up to WR2, they will know by the end of the year. And do any of these players brought up play with the highest paid RB, ever. Who is a receiving weapon as well. If I’m Moore, I’m not playing a snap until my deal is done. If Robbie doesn’t have to risk it, why should he?
  11. You don’t have to make any big signings. Just adding needed players costs money. If a player goes on IR, he has to be replaced. Or cut. And now those are much more accurate than what you posted before. They had more than that this year. What came of that? Lot of holes to fill with just 42M and no 2nd rounder.
  12. See…that’s my bad. I was speaking of reality. How do you still have 30M with at least 25M to account for over two years. Is he going to have a 5M cap hit in 2022? And every move made during this year takes off the 20M you want to rollover.
  13. It’s still 12.6 dead cap. Whether it’s next year or 2023, it’s gone. So it counts against both years. Affecting all that free cap space. What pick/player is going to make this OL solid. And how much or what pick is going to acquire him. Or a new CB. No 2nd rounder. Likely still need a QB. Plus all the roster filler that ain’t free. A new C, on top of the 9.2M Paradis already counts against it. Name one thing that isn’t accurate. You got anything else? I’ll do salary cap issues all day. I’ve got a much better track record than any Panther FO ever has.
  14. So Robbies extension costs nothing? Because if they put 4.5M on this year, that down to 20M this year. And how is it still 34M next year with RAs contract not counting anything at all? On either year?
  15. Besides 80-100M of wasted money in 2020, they signed two OL(14M guaranteed) no one wanted, and guaranteed Darnold 19M for no reason at all. Wouldn’t call that just fine.
  16. Really? How much do they have that makes them flexible. Especially if a QB is still needed(on top of Darnolds 19M), OL is still a mess, DJax needs signed or replaced, Shaqs contract. And DJ Moore is going to want paid pretty quick after this.
  17. Remember that when the Panthers are trying to sign OL this off-season. Putting it on this year, or next year, means it’s gone either way. Doesn’t matter what year it hits. It’s money they don’t have anymore. Just like signing Teddy and his great contract. Or Boston. Or keeping KK. Or Weatherly…etc.. Think those contracts would have been better spent on an OL or two. Not bottom feeders like Erving and Elflien either.
  18. The Steelers are paying ONE WR 9M this year. The rest are one rookie deals. And they let JuJu test FA before paying him that. Not nearly the same.
  19. I think that’s the discussion point. Not if he’s worth it. It’s is he worth it to the Panthers with DJ Moore to sign as well.
  20. Guaranteeing Darnold 19M, for no apparent reason, is about as much “coddling” as a team can do for a QB.
  21. Especially with an owner who has money to burn. He can get him the top medical care available to any man and still come out way ahead. This is the way to get ahead and around the salary cap some. Smith will make about 3M for 4 years. If he can be an average G, playing at a 5M/year level, that’s 17M in value. So putting 5M into his health care is still a bargain. And doesn’t effect the cap.
