I wasn’t expecting him back anyway so no biggie. -
Bummer, wonder if there’s still an option for Jackson and Cadeau to reclassify. Though that means someone is coming off the bench who probably doesn’t want to. (Davis, Cadeau, Ryan, Jackson, Ingram, Bacot).

Looks to be off by one shoe size. -
Agreed. I guess my point here is that both guys have flaws and nothing that anyone says will eliminate those flaws. I wanted Stroud but I’d be lying if I said his test scores weren’t a concern. I could argue that Ohio State’s OC, Kevin Wilson, said Stroud had one of the quickest minds of any player that he’s ever coached or that maybe Stroud doesn’t test well, but in reality the numbers are what they are and an 18% is not good. Likewise, a 5-10, 195 lb. QB is also a concern, especially one that has rarely taken hard hits.
-
That’s valid, everything is moot if the Panthers can protect Young well and the coaching staff puts him in a place to succeed while limiting the hits he takes.
-
That’s what I’m hoping for. Both Young and Stroud have concerns. I just think it’s funny that some are trying to eliminate their concerns based on what so and so says. If we’re being frank (no pun intended), Young is a midget (joking) and Stroud may be clinically retarded (joking). Nothing any one says can alleviate these concerns until we see both players suit up. The Panthers and fans that are invested in the team just have to come to terms with what concern they can get over more. Young’s perceived side or Stroud’s perceived intelligence.

A major exception to the premise is that heavier running backs don’t get injured as much as their smaller counterparts… that’s partly because the larger running backs can take hits from 300 lb. linemen better than smaller running backs, the same goes with a QB. In reality, heavier guys will get hurt more than smaller guys because they are asked to do a lot with more mass on their body, but that has absolutely nothing to do with being hit, it has to do with asking a 300 lb. guy to stop on a dime, pivot, and reverse back the opposite way to make a tackle while hoping he doesn’t tear every ligament.in his knee.
-
And I’d argue that two of those guys got hit a lot more than Young (AR and Levis) and I definitely saw Stroud take some hard hits (the Iowa game comes to mind). The issue is this idea that Young’s size isn’t a concern and that him somehow not taking a bunch of huge hits eliminates the need for that concern. As I mentioned previously that does absolutely nothing to alleviate the concern. I’d be more concerned now than what I was because you have a small framed QB that rarely takes hard hits. At the end of the day (shoutout Matt Rhule), this conversation has come up hundreds of times in different threads and the result will always be the same. Young’s size is a concern, the Panthers just have to be comfortable enough with every other aspect of his game where they can look past that concern. Nothing that anyone posts about Russell Wilson or from Alabama’s team doctors is going to eliminate the very valid FACT that Young would be the smallest starting QB in the NFL.
-
Ingram could be if he develops a consistent outside shot. I think the days of super stars running college ball are over, that’s why we had UCONN and SDSU in the finals. I think college ball is now all about finding 13 guys who can come together as a team and put that NIL garbage aside and just go out there and play to win.
-
For sure, Cam suffered a shoulder injury in a similar fashion when he was chasing the Chargers defender down. But the point is, Young already has an injury history, a shoulder injury nonetheless, and as the team doctor mentioned, he hasn’t taken a bunch of big hits. So the question is, will his body hold up when he does take big hits?

Also change the fugging slogan because we compromised quite a fugging bit on Friday. #CompromiseSometimes -
If anything, I’d say the team doctors’ comments warrant more concern rather than alleviating it. So Young has already suffered from a sprained AC joint, and as the team doctor mentioned, it wasn’t from a big hit… it was from a routine play that could easily happen at least once a game. So what happens when he actually gets lit up? Young’s size is a concern just like Stroud’s test score, anyone saying otherwise is kidding themselves.

Carolina’s roster compared to last years is insane. G - Davis, Trimble G - Ryan, Dunn, Wilcher F - Ingram, Wojcik F - Withers, High C - Bacot, Washington If Carolina can land Cleveland then they’ll be in good shape next year. Dunlap would also be a good add from the perspective that he’d be a four year player.

You should check a game out. I wasn’t a huge fan until I went to a game in person and it helps when the team is good like the Rangers. -
