He’s waiver exempt, meaning he can’t be claimed by another team if sent down to Chicago (AHL team). His direct competition, Stefan Noesen, is not waiver exempt and would likely be claimed. Canes have so much competition that it’s hard to keep everyone, he’ll be up some this year though, Canes just have to clear room. After seeing how Chatfield has played tonight, I’d bet the farm that Bear is gone and then Drury will be called up.
