  1. The fact that we have Burns for two more years after this year is fantastic.
  2. Anyone else’s feed going zero dark thirty for like 2 seconds at a time from time to time?
  3. Drury sure but Noesen is 29, he’s essentially a slightly younger version of Stepan but he doesn’t play center (like Stepan does) which is the most valuable position in hockey.
  4. After 1 Canes 3 - BJ’s 1 Goal 1: Kotkaniemi (1) from Burns (1) and Jarvis (1) Goal 2: Noesen (2) from Skjei (1) Goal 3: Stepan (2) from Slavin (3) and MacEachern (1)
  5. Stepan has had a very good preseason. I imagine he’ll get a contract soon. If I had to guess, Marty and Kase are locked into that fourth line. Drury, Stepan, and Noesen are all fighting for the final two spots as Stromwall has faded a bit.
  6. Sheesh.. Bear got walked there, luckily that puck didn’t find the net.
  7. Oh man… Burns almost had another. Sweet feed from KK.
  8. This would explain why Dronov was missing from the TC roster. Now officially down to 40 with Lagesson, Seeley, and Dronov all headed to Chicago.
  9. Lagesson cleared waivers and is headed to Chicago and Seeley has been assigned to Chicago as well (waivers exempt). The Canes state that the training camp roster is at 41 but I only count 40 and I’m not seeing Dronov who is now listed as part of Chicago’s training camp roster.
  10. Interesting lines tonight. Mattheos is making his debut which means Suzuki is the only remaining player on the training camp roster that has yet to play (though he’s working his way back from an upper body injury).
  11. Well for starters, they could extend Mayfield’s drop back. They’ve wasted 12 passes over the past four games by continually running the same scheme that requires Mayfield to do to two and three step drop backs before firing the ball into the defensive line. When a coach is 11-26 and the only common denominator is said coach, it goes wayyyy beyond turnovers and dropped passes. I’d argue that the first down offense is significantly worse than the third down offense. I don’t have time to look up the stats but I’d be willing to bet that the Panthers face third and long (i.e. third and 7+) more than most teams in the NFL because they can’t stay on schedule.
  12. I feel like it’s more difficult to be successively bad at your job than it is to be consistently good. As in, how is one able to do the same thing for four straight weeks, come up with the same result, and not once pose the question to oneself… “maybe I should try something different.”
  13. So does Horn not travel with receivers? And if he doesn’t, is it a coaching staff thing or does Horn prefer only playing one side. It seemed like Arizona was doing everything in their power to get Brown on Henderson.
  14. The chances of Corral getting a real shot here are slim unless the Panthers manage to end up in no man’s land again and are drafting between 11 and 15. Hell, even then, they might fall in love with Anthony Richardson (who I don’t like for what it’s worth). This coming draft just seems like the draft where the Panthers spend an early pick on a QB. Corral still would be given a chance to compete (assuming the new coaching staff keeps him), but obviously a first round QB is going to get more attention than a third round QB that was drafted under the previous regime. Pretty shitty situation for Corral.
  15. I prefer Stroud, I’ve watched him a lot and I think his NFL trajectory will be similar to Herbert’s. Cristobal didn’t really allow Herbert to use his legs in college and many kind of feel like Day might be asking Stroud not to run either. In my opinion, Stroud is definitely mobile and I think we’ll see it at the next level. Both QB’s are extremely accurate but I think Stroud is slightly more accurate and I like his intermediate throw percentage a tad better than Young’s. I think Stroud really separates himself with his arm strength as I feel like he can make every NFL throw and his arm strength is as good as Malik Willis’ was last year. I also think Stroud’s release his right up there with Corral’s. And for those that are worried about Stroud being just another OSU QB and comparing him to Fields, Stroud’s release is milessss ahead of Fields’ and being a pure pocket passer, Stroud reads the field much better than Fields does. I don’t think the players are even remotely similar. All in all, both Stroud and Young have a chance at being really good QB’s but I’d prefer Stroud. I also have a lot of questions about Young’s durability.
  16. We don’t play Washington this year so I think we’re done… 1-16.
